This study aims to analyze and identify the effects of inflation and rupiah exchange rates on profitability in Islamic banks in Indonesia with mudharabah deposit as the mediator. Using secondary data that are published by the central bank of Indonesia and financial services authority, the method used in this research is Ordinary Least Square. The result indicates the inflation variable, exchange rate, and mudharabah deposits simultaneously give a significant influence toward profitability (ROA) of the Sharia Commercial Bank in Indonesia. While partially, inflation and exchange rate have no significant effect on profitability (ROA). While mudharabah deposits have a significant positive effect on profitability (ROA). Inflation has a significant negative effect on mudharabah deposits and the exchange rate has a significant positive effect on mudharabah deposits. The path analysis result shows that the mudharabah deposit variable is unable to mediate the effect of inflation and te exchange rate to profitability (ROA)

This study aimed to test the Influence of Excellent Service Quality, Portion of Profit Sharing and Savings Income Level of Customers of Firdaus Savings at PT. Bank Aceh Syariah Langsa empirically. The method used for data analysis was OLS (Ordinary Least Square) with double linear regression estimation model based on the results of data processing by using Eviews software program. From the research result, R2 value of 0.851 was obtained. This means that approximately 85.1 percent of the proportion of independent variables used could explain the dependent variable variation in that model. Whereas the remaining of 14.9 percent was explained by other variables that were not used in this study. While the estimation results showed that the F-count was greater than the F-table (F-calculated = 22.71 > F-table = 2.67) for the function of the amount of the savings equation. It means that all independent variables used in the estimation of this analysis model namely service, profit sharing, and income jointly gave significant effect on the amount of Firdaus Savings at PT. Bank Aceh Syariah Langsa. Thus the Coefficient of service showed a value of 1.028 which means that the higher the level of service which was equal to 1.028 percent, the savings would increase the amount of Firdaus Savings at PT. Bank Aceh Syariah Langsa for about 1.028 percent and was elastic, the Coefficient of profit sharing showed a value of 1.425 which means that any increase of profit sharing in the yield of 1.425 percent, the savings would increase the amount of Firdaus Savings at PT. Bank Aceh Syariah Langsa for about 1.425 percent and was elastic. The Coefficient of income showed a value of 0.737 which means that any increase in revenues of 0.737 percent, the savings would increase the amount of Firdaus Savings at PT. Bank Aceh Syariah Langsa for about 0.737 percent and was inelastic. Service is one of the dominant factors that affect the amount of savings in Islamic banks, then it must be put into consideration by any Islamic banks to keep improving their services.

This study examines the causal relationship between financial development, liberalization and economic growth through technological innovation channel in five South East Asia countries during the period 1980–2012, using a fully modified ordinary least square estimation technique. We find that technological deepening is driven by deepening in the financial system and financial liberalization rather than changes in a country’s market capitalization. We also find a negative effect from the financial openness, and a positive effect from financial deregulation.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate the relative performance of Shariah-compliant companies (SCCs) compared to conventional companies. This study focuses on two periods, the first being the recession period of 2007-2010 and the second, the non-recession period of 2011-2014. Design/methodology/approach A quantitative approach is adopted using an ordinary least square regression model. The chosen variables are those used by previous researchers in conventional studies of corporate performance. Data are selected from individual companies listed on the FTSE All World Index. This study examines two periods of time: the recession of 2007-2010 and the post-recession years of 2011-2014 to analyse performance measured by accounting returns (return on equity, return on asset and earnings per share) and market returns (stock return and price/earnings ratio). Findings The study found that SCCs outperformed non-Shariah compliant companies, in terms of both accounting and market returns during both periods. It was also found that size has a negative effect on performance during both periods. The degree of risk, leverage and growth has no significance in either period, but cash flow from operations has a positive effect on performance in both. Research limitations/implications The study could beneficially be extended by the inclusion of corporate governance variables to assess how these affect performance in SCCs. Originality/value In contrast to previous research carried out on indices, this study uses data from individual companies listed on the FTSE All World Index. It provides insight into the way Shariah ethics can influence performance and suggests that some of the features could be useful if adopted by conventional companies.

The world's back is concerned with food security issues for the community, pecially from the dimensions of availability, access to food and food price stability. Countries should be able to increase production in order to provide food rice sufficiency and sustainable, but on the other hand there are many factors that affect the level of availability of rice in the community. This study aimed to analyze the influence of the harvested area, the price of rice, the price of bread, and rainfall to supply rice in Serdang Bedagai. In measuring and analyzing regression analysis model was used Ordinary Least Square (OLS) with a data processor Eviews 6.0. By using secunder data from BPS Serdang Bedagai during the period 2011 - 2015. The results showed that the independent variables used to explain the variables rice deals (PB) indicate the direction of influence in accordance with the hypothesis. Area harvested and the price of rice positive and significant impact on rice deals (PB) while the price of bread and rainfall positive effect but not significant to supply rice (PB) in Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra Province.
