This study aims at finding out whether Running Dictation Method is effective in teaching listening skill at the sixth semester of Cokroaminoto Palopo University. This study is pre-experimental design which consists of pre-test, treatment and post-test. The population of this study is the sixth semester of Cokroaminoto Palopo University. The technique used to select the sample is simple random sampling. The data analyzes using significant t-test (paired sample t-test). The result of the study shows that the value of mean score of pre-test (66.13) is lower than the mean score of post-test (75.90). it means that the use of Running Dictation is effective in teaching listening. The result of paired sample t-test shows that the value of sig. (2-tailed) is lower than alpha (α) (0.00<0.05), It means that Null Hypothesis  (H0)  is  rejected  and Alternative Hypothesis (H1) is accepted. Therefore Running Dictation Method is significantly effective in teaching listening at the sixth semester of Cokroaminoto Palopo university.

This research was conducted to find out whether there was a significant effect of the Mnemonic method in teaching vocabulary mastery at the Seventh-grade students’ of SMPN 22 Buton Tengah. The design of the research was a pre-experimental design ( one group pre-test post-test design). The population of this research was the seventh-grade (VII) of SMPN 22 Buton Tengah which consists of three classes, while the sample in this research was class VII3 that consisted of 25 students and used a simple random sampling technique. The instrument in this study was multiple choices, matching tests and public buildings, food, people around us to the topic. This study was conducted three sections namely pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The researcher used a paired sample T-test through SPSS 16.0 version to analyze the result of this research. The result showed that the mean score of students’ vocabulary mastery in the post-test was higher than students’ vocabulary in the pre-test ( 53.6 > 45.28 ). The hypothesis testing found that the value of sig ( 2 Tailed ) was 0.00 while the significant alpha value was 0.05. It can be concluded that the value of Sig ( 2 Tailed) was lower than the significance of α value (0.000< 0.05). in other words, (H1) was accepted. It showed that there was a significant effect of using the Mnemonic Method on teaching vocabulary mastery at the seventh-grade students of SMPN 22 Buton Tengah.

The writer gave pre-test, treatment, and post-test to one group. The sample of this study was 30 students of the elementary second level students at SDN 018 Samarinda. In analyzing data, the writer used t-test to find out the significance difference between the result before treatment (pre-test) and after treatment (post-test).In pre-test, from 30 students, 7 students got A (excellent), 6 students got B (good), 7 students got C (fair), 6 students got D (poor), and 4 students got E (fail). In post-test, from 30 students, 13 students got A (excellent), 8 students got B (good), 8 students got C (fair), 1 student got D (poor), and no students got E (fail). The mean score of vocabulary before treatment (pre-test) was fair (67,7) and the mean score of vocabulary after treatment (post-test) was good (78,7). The result of the findings of the study showed t-count (6.358) is greater ( ˃ ) than t-table (2.045) at level of significant (p) = 5% and df = 29. It means the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It means that the use of Video give very significant effects on vocabulary to the elementary second level students of SDN 018 Samarinda

The objective of the study was to find out whether or not the silent way method can significantly affect students’ speaking competence. The design of this study was a pre-experimental research design (one group pre-test post-test design). The researcher applied a simple random sampling technique. The class 10 IPA1 was taken as the sample of the study with 18 students. The instrument of this study was an oral test in pre-test and post-test. This research was conducted through the following procedures: giving a pre-test, applying treatments and giving a post-test. The data were analyzed by using paired sample t-test. Through the SPSS16.0 version. The result showed that the mean score on students’ speaking competence in a pre-test was 32.22 and in the post-test was 49.44. Hypothesis testing found that the value of sig (2 tailed) was 0.00 while the significant alpha value was 0.0. It could be concluded that the value of sig (2 tailed) was lower than the significant alpha value was (0.00<0.05). Therefore, H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected. So, the use of the silent way method had a significant on the students’ speaking competence at the tenth grade of SMAN 1 Kontu kowuna.

The research was designed in a pre-experimental pre-test and posttest research, where the research only applied the English conversation to the experimental group that consisted of 28 students. The sample of the study was taken by using cluster random sampling technique. It was taken randomly of 148 second grader students of MTs. Negeri Masbagik as the population of the study. The gaining data of pre-test and post-test was taken by requiring the students to make and practice a conversation in front of the class based on the material that was learnt before. Later, the pre-test and post-test data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics and Paired Sample t-test to test the hypothesis. Having collected and calculated the data by using descriptive statistics, the present researcher found out that descriptive statistic result showed the mean score of the pre-test was 7.21 while the mean of the post-test was 9.25. The result of hypothesis testing by using Paired-Sample t-test was t(27) = 11.68 at p = .000. It was lower than .05 so it means that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. In other word that the English conversation was significantly effective in speaking skill.

The sample of this research was grade VIII-E students which consisted of 31 students at MTs PAB 1 Helvetia, Medan. The data of this research was students’ reading comprehension score on pre-test and post-test. The data was analyzed by using Paired Sample T-Test formula which was calculated by SPSS 2.2. From the data analysis, it was found that the T-Test value was higher than the T-Table value (10,085 > 2,042). It showed that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. It also showed that there was a significance effect after applying Herringbone technique on students’ reading comprehension through narrative text at MTs PAB 1 Helvetia, Medan.   Keywords:  herringbone technique, students’ reading comprehension, paired sample t-test formula

The sample of this study were class VIII.B as the experimental class and VIII.A as the control class. Both of the class were consisted of 22 students. In collecting the data, the researcher conducted pre test and post test by asking students singing songs. In the control class, the result of pre test(x1) score was 1285. The result of post test(x2) score was 1462. The gained(dx) both of pre test and post test was 182. The mean(Mx) score was 8,2. in the experimental class, the result of pre test(y1) score was 1190. The result of post test(y2) score was 1608. The gained(dy) both of pre test and post test was 418. The mean(My) score was 19. The testing of hypothesis was analyzed using t-test formula. The result ttest (t0) both of the classes was 3,14. The result of this study showed that there was significant difference on students’ speaking skill that was taught by using English song. In the table of significance, it could be seen on the significance degree or ? = 0.05 and df=42. The ttable (t095(42))=2,68. Then, by comparing the result t0 is bigger than ttable, that is 3.14 2,68. The hypothesis (Ha)  was accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. It can be concluded that the using of English song was effective in teaching speaking.Key words: Speaking, English song.
