Scores on perceptions of racial discrimination, locus of control, job satisfaction, and job complexity in a national sample of 3,054 indicated that perceived racial discrimination is associated with an individual's disposition, job attitude, and perceived job characteristics. Respondents with an external locus of control perceived racial discrimination more frequently than did those with an internal locus of control. Conversely, job satisfaction and job complexity were also associated with perceived discrimination because of race.

The purpose of this study is to explain the locus of control as a moderating variable that has the influence of role stress on job satisfaction. This research was conducted on Melia Bali Hotel accounting employees. The number of samples in this study were 50 respondents. The sampling technique is saturated sampling using the Likert Summated Ratings (LSR) method. Data collection was obtained from the results of distributing questionnaires for Melia Bali Hotel accounting employees. Data analysis in this study uses moderated regression analysis and the model feasibility test. The results of the moderated regression analysis and the model feasibility test indicate that the locus of control variable as a moderating variable influences the role of stress on job satisfaction of accounting employees at Melia Bali Hotels. The results of this study indicate that the higher the role stress felt by Melia Bali Hotel accounting employees, the job satisfaction felt by employees will decrease. Keywords: role stress, locus of control, job satisfaction.

Sampling was done by using a proportional (proportionate random sampling), in each instances, with 8% of precision rate. The data collection method was a customized questionnaire survey method based on Likert scale 1-5. The analysis tool used is Partial Least Square (PLS) with hypothesis testing process used software application program Smart PLS 3.0.The results showed that the Islamic Work Ethic and Locus Of Control has a positive and significant influence either directly or indirectly on Job Satisfaction, thus concluded that the Islamic work ethics and locus of control proved to increase employee satisfaction in work units (SKPD) , North Buton Regency. The practical contribution of this research is to provide information to the Civil Servants (PNS) and Local Government in order to always improve understanding and programs related to the increase in work attitudes Civil Servants (PNS), especially in the scope of work units (SKPD). While theoretically this study contribute to the development of different models of measurement variables from previous studies, in which the role of the Islamic Work Ethic variables and Locus of Control as exogenous variables are reflective, while job satisfaction variables as endogenous variables are formative. Further limitations and suggestions discussed in the research. Keywords: Islamic Work Ethic, Locus of Control, Job Satisfaction.

Knowledge workers are highly valued by organizations, but there is a lack of evidence about the role of work engagement in the satisfaction and performance of these workers. Harmonization and Person–Job Fit theory state that workers who have similar characteristics to those present in the context (i.e., give similar importance to the characteristics present in the context) perform better. The aim of this paper is twofold: to test the congruence effect between five knowledge characteristics and their rated influence on job satisfaction and job performance; and test the mediational role of work engagement between the knowledge characteristics’ fit and job performance. Using a time-lagged design, 531 Colombian employees from 20 economic sectors answered questionnaires about work engagement (i.e., UWES-9), knowledge characteristics (i.e., WDQ), importance given to knowledge characteristics, job satisfaction, and job performance. Using polynomial regression, surface response methodology, and ordinary least squares path analyses, we found a congruence effect of the relationship between knowledge characteristics and their levels of importance on job performance in four out of five comparisons (i.e., job complexity, information processing, problem solving, and specialization). In addition, we found that knowledge characteristics’ fit indirectly influenced job satisfaction and performance through its effect on work engagement.

The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of locus of control on employee discipline and the role of job satisfaction in mediating the relationship of locus of control on employee discipline. This study uses a quantitative approach, the research was conducted at YPI Miftahul Huda Papar, Kediri Regency, data was collected using a questionnaire filled out by all employees. Locus of control is measured by the ability, interest, effort, fate, and influence of others. Job satisfaction is measured by using 2 factors motivation, the last work discipline includes goals, justice, inherent supervision, sanctions and punishments. Data were analyzed for hypothesis testing using Path Analysis. The results of the analysis reveal that locus of control and job satisfaction have an effect on employee discipline. Another finding is that job satisfaction plays a role in mediating the influence of locus of control on work discipline. Suggestions for further research is to develop this research in a different place and examine the consequences of work discipline.
