The objective of this article is a presentation of priority questions and relations involving economic and soil conditions for the application of phytoremediation technology in restoring sustainable development to the environment. The analysis looks at the justifiability of the application of phytoremediation in restoring a balanced environment as an alternative method to costly land recultivation aimed at eliminating pollutants—a solution that is impossible in the case of large areas. The cost effectiveness of the use of phytoremediation in the recovery of trace element in the soil through the process of phytoremediation was demonstrated. The quality of soils as found in the Voivodeship of Łódź was analyzed from the point of view of potential application of the phytoremediation method, taking into account subdivision by heavy metals found in the soils as well as their origins and properties. Grades of soil purity are presented and border values of heavy metal content were identified.

Water samples of six sampling sites (two downstream, two abattoir sites and two upstream sites) were analyzed using standard methods to determined and assessed heavy metal content of abattoir effluent on surface water quality of River Katsina-Ala, Benue State, Nigeria for rainy and dry seasons. Rainy season heavy metals results were; Cr6+ (0.032+0.06mg/l); Mn2+ (0.16+0.034mg/l); Cu2+ (0.86 +0.46mg/l); Pb2+(0.006+0.002mg/;Cd2+(0.0023+0.004mg/l) and the dry season results were: Cr6+(0.028+0.007mg/l); Mn2+(0.07+0.05mg/l); Cu2+(0.85+0.16mg/l); Pb2+(0.0030+0.014mg/l); Cd2+(0.0021+0.012mg/). Most heavy metals for both seasons were within the maximum permissible limit set by Federal Ministry of Environment, Nigeria (1991). The mean concentrations of Zn2+(1.70+0.29 mg/l) for rainy season and Zn2+(1.33+0.23mg/l) dry season were above the control and standard safe limits of < 1mg/l FMEnv (1991) for surface water quality. There was no significance difference (p<0.05) between the means from upstream and downstream sites for both seasons; though significance difference (p<0.05) existed at the abattoir sites. River Katsina –ala is slightly polluted. Heavy metal content from effluents from abattoir contributed to upset the physicochemical balance of the river. Bioaccumulation and bio-magnification of heavy metals may occur from prolong usage of the river water for drinking. It is suggested that the abattoir effluent be treated before discharge into the river to reduce environmental and health hazards.

Chromium is not only an essential trace element for the growth and development of living organisms; it is also a heavy metal pollutant. Excessive chromium in farmland soil will not only cause harm to crops, but could also constitute a serious threat to human health through the cumulative effect of the food chain. The determination of heavy metals in tailings of farmland soil is an essential means of soil environmental protection and sustainable development. Hyperspectral remote sensing technology has good characteristics, e.g., high speed, macro, and high resolution, etc., and has gradually become a focus of research to determine heavy metal content in soil. However, due to the spectral variation caused by different environmental conditions, the direct application of the indoor spectrum to conduct field surveys is not effective. Soil components are complex, and the effect of linear regression of heavy metal content is not satisfactory. This study builds indoor and outdoor spectral conversion models to eliminate soil spectral differences caused by environmental conditions. Considering the complex effects of soil composition, we introduce a support vector machine model to retrieve chromium content that has advantages in solving problems such as small samples, non-linearity, and a large number of dimensions. Taking a mining area in Hunan, China as a test area, this study retrieved the chromium content in the soil using 12 combination models of three types of spectra (field spectrum, lab spectrum, and direct standardization (DS) spectrum), two regression methods (stepwise regression and support vector machine regression), and two factors (strong correlation factor and principal component factor). The results show that: (1) As far as the spectral types are concerned, the inversion accuracy of each combination of the field spectrum is generally lower than the accuracy of the corresponding combination of other spectral types, indicating that field environmental interference affects the modeling accuracy. Each combination of DS spectra has higher inversion accuracy than the corresponding combination of field spectra, indicating that DS spectra have a certain effect in eliminating soil spectral differences caused by environmental conditions. (2) The inversion accuracy of each spectrum type of SVR_SC (Support Vector Regression_Strong Correlation) is the highest for the combination of regression method and inversion factor. This indicates the feasibility and superiority of inversion of heavy metals in soil by a support vector machine. However, the inversion accuracy of each spectrum type of SVR_PC (Support Vector Regression_Principal Component) is generally lower than that of other combinations, which indicates that, to obtain superior inversion performance of SVR, the selection of characteristic factors is very important. (3) Through principal component regression analysis, it is found that the pre-processed spectrum is more stable for the inversion of Cr concentration. The regression coefficients of the three types of differential spectra are roughly the same. The five statistically significant characteristic bands are mostly around 384–458 nm, 959–993 nm, 1373–1448 nm, 1970–2014 nm, and 2325–2400 nm. The research results provide a useful reference for the large-scale normalization monitoring of chromium-contaminated soil. They also provide theoretical and technical support for soil environmental protection and sustainable development.

Studies on heavy metal content of Meritrix meritrix and surrounding waters as well as the quality of Banjarmasin waters were done. Observation was carried out in June, August and October 2003 at 6 sampling points, 3 stations were 1 mile while 3 others were 2 miles from coastal line. Distance between stations was approximately 1 mile. The samples collected from each station were hard clam (Meritrix meritrix), sea water and sediment. Heavy metals content, Hg, As, Cd, Cu and Pb, in hard clam and mercury content in sea water and sediment were analyzed by atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS). The result showed that Hg content of Banjarmasin waters in June, August and October 2003 were 6.05, 3.17, and 4.91 ppb, respectively, indicated that Banjarmasin waters had been polluted by mercury. Whereas the hard clam in Banjarmasin waters contained Hg (1.91 ppb), As (0.88 ppb), Cd (0.22 ppb), Cu (0.46 ppb), and Pb (0.32 ppb) which were still under the maximum concentration for consumable clam.

In order to investigate the effects of mining pollution to LongJiang River and to know the situation of LongJiang River, we collected water and sludge samples along the river and analyzed the heavy metal content of samples. Results showed that LiDeFen factory and JinHe mining released most of the heavy metals to LongJiang River two years ago, and the upstream of LongJiang River also released some metal to the river. These heavy metals were precipitated to the bottom of LongJiang River by using weak alkaline chemical precipitation technology, and water quality of LongJiang River can reach the second national environmental quality standards of surface water now. The precipitation effects were different in different remediation sites.

Background. Improved quality of care and control of healthcare costs are important factors influencing decisions to implement nurse practitioner (NP) and clinical nurse specialist (CNS) roles.Objective. To assess the quality of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating NP and CNS cost-effectiveness (defined broadly to also include studies measuring health resource utilization).Design. Systematic review of RCTs of NP and CNS cost-effectiveness reported between 1980 and July 2012.Results. 4,397 unique records were reviewed. We included 43 RCTs in six groupings, NP-outpatient (n=11), NP-transition (n=5), NP-inpatient (n=2), CNS-outpatient (n=11), CNS-transition (n=13), and CNS-inpatient (n=1). Internal validity was assessed using the Cochrane risk of bias tool; 18 (42%) studies were at low, 17 (39%) were at moderate, and eight (19%) at high risk of bias. Few studies included detailed descriptions of the education, experience, or role of the NPs or CNSs, affecting external validity.Conclusions. We identified 43 RCTs evaluating the cost-effectiveness of NPs and CNSs using criteria that meet current definitions of the roles. Almost half the RCTs were at low risk of bias. Incomplete reporting of study methods and lack of details about NP or CNS education, experience, and role create challenges in consolidating the evidence of the cost-effectiveness of these roles.

Background: Hip arthroscopy has frequently been shown to produce successful outcomes as a treatment for femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and labral tears. However, there is less literature on whether the favorable results of hip arthroscopy can justify the costs, especially when compared with a nonoperative treatment. Purpose: To systematically review the cost-effectiveness of hip arthroscopy for treating FAI and labral tears. Study Design: Systematic review; Level of evidence, 3. Methods: PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases, and the Tufts University Cost-Effectiveness Analysis Registry were searched to identify articles that reported the cost per quality-adjusted life-year (QALY) generated by hip arthroscopy. The key terms used were “hip arthroscopy,” “cost,” “utility,” and “economic evaluation.” The threshold for cost-effectiveness was set at $50,000/QALY. The Methodological Index for Non-Randomized Studies instrument and Quality of Health Economic Studies (QHES) score were used to determine the quality of the studies. This study was prospectively registered on PROSPERO (CRD42020172991). Results: Six studies that reported the cost-effectiveness of hip arthroscopy were identified, and 5 of these studies compared hip arthroscopy to a nonoperative comparator. These studies were found to have a mean QHES score of 85.2 and a mean cohort age that ranged from 33-37 years. From both a health care system perspective and a societal perspective, 4 studies reported that hip arthroscopy was more costly but resulted in far greater gains than did nonoperative treatment. The preferred treatment strategy was most sensitive to duration of benefit, preoperative osteoarthritis, cost of the arthroscopy, and the improvement in QALYs with hip arthroscopy. Conclusion: In the majority of the studies, hip arthroscopy had a higher initial cost but provided greater gain in QALYs than did a nonoperative treatment. In certain cases, hip arthroscopy can be cost-effective given a long enough duration of benefit and appropriate patient selection. However, there is further need for literature to analyze willingness-to-pay thresholds.

STUDI PENURUNAN KADAR LOGAM BESI (Fe) DAN LOGAM TEMBAGA (Cu) PADA AIR EMBUNG MENGGUNAKAN ADSORBEN NANOSILIKAABSTRAKPolusi limbah logam berat dalam air merupakan satu permasalahan lingkungan yang penting. Dalam mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dapat dilakukan purifikasi terhadap air tersebut. Metode yang dapat digunakan untuk purifikasi limbah sangat beragam salah satunya adalah absorpsi. Secara umum metode absorpsi telah banyak digunakan dalam purifikasi air limbah. Metode absorpsi dapat menurunkan kadar logam yang terlarut pada limbah. cair dengan cara menyerap logam-logam tersebut ke dalam permukaan absorbennya. Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini adalah  untuk menurunkan konsentrasi logam besi (Fe) dan tembaga (Cu) menggunakan adsorben nanosilika. Penelitian ini menggunakan variabel bebas yaitu waktu pengadukan (20 menit, 40 menit, dan 60 menit). Hasil akhir filtrat air embung kemudian diukur absorbansinya menggunakan Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom. Berdasarkan hasil analisa menggunakan instrumen SSA diperoleh hasil bahwa tidak terjadi penurunan logam Fe maupun Cu. Dalam hal ini terjadi peningkatan konsentrasi dalam logam Fe maupun Cu, hal ini dikarenakan kurangnya waktu pengadukan dan pengaruh dari adsorben nanosilika.Kata Kunci: limbah, logam berat, nanosilika STUDY OF DECREASING METALS IRON (Fe) AND COPPER (Cu) ON EMBUNG WATER USE OF NANOSILICA ADSORBEN ABSTRACTHeavy waste pollution of heavy metals in the water is an important environment issue. To solve the problem, its can be purified the water. The methods that can be used for waste purification are very diverse, one of which is absorption. In general, the method of absorption has been widely used in wastewater purification. The absorption method can decrease dissolved metal content in the waste. liquid by absorbing the metals into the absorbent surface. Research has been conducted to reduce the concentration of iron (Fe) and copper (Cu) by using nanosilica adsorbent. This research used to independent variable that is stirring time (20 minutes, 40 minutes, and 60 minutes). The final result of filtrate embung water then measured its absorbance using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). Based on the result of the analysis using SSA instrument, it is found that there is no decrease of Fe and Cu metals. There are several reasons for those problem such as due to lack of stirring time and the influence of nanosilica adsorbent.Keywords: Waste pollution, heavy metal, nanosilica

Perioperative bleeding occupies a leading place among all surgical complications and, despite the rapid development of surgery, remains relevant to this day. In addition to an increase in mortality, bleeding can cause the development of other postoperative complications, which lead to disability of patients and to a decrease in the quality of life in all age groups. Most perioperative bleeding are caused by technical errors. This article reviews the problem of perioperative bleeding from the point of view of impaired coagulation capabilities of the body. The main etiopathogenetic features of hemostasis during the development of this complication are considered. The analysis of postoperative complications, which were directly or indirectly caused by bleeding during or after surgery, is presented. The prevalence of these complications in various areas of surgery has been demonstrated. More detailed study of the hemostasis system and the identification of predictors of hemostasis difficulties before the surgery may cause an improvement in the results of surgical treatment and reduce the number of postoperative complications and the duration of hospital stay. Accordingly, this will lead to a decrease in the cost of treatment and an increase in patient satisfaction with the medical care. In connection with the above, there is a great interest among surgeons and anesthesiologists in preventing the development of perioperative bleeding.

IntroductionThe combination of biomarkers and drugs is the subject of growing interest both from regulators, physicians and companies. This study protocol of a systematic review is aimed to describe available literature evidences about the cost-effectiveness, cost-utility or net-monetary benefit of the use of biomarkers in solid tumour as tools for customising immunotherapy to identify what further research needs.Methods and analysisA systematic review of the literature will be carried out according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses statement guidelines. PubMed and Embase will be queried from June 2010 to June 2021. The PICOS model will be applied: target population (P) will be patients with solid tumours treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs); the interventions (I) will be test of the immune checkpoint predictive biomarkers; the comparator (C) will be any other targeted or non-targeted therapy; outcomes (O) evaluated will be health economic and clinical implications assessed in terms of incremental cost-effectiveness ratio, net health benefit, net monetary benefit, life years gained, quality of life, etc; study (S) considered will be economic evaluations reporting cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-utility analysis, net-monetary benefit. The quality of the evidence will be graded according to Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation.Ethics and disseminationThis systematic review will assess the cost-effectiveness implications of using biomarkers in the immunotherapy with ICIs, which may help to understand whether this approach is widespread in real clinical practice. This research is exempt from ethics approval because the work is carried out on published documents. Abstract The urbanization is regarded as the major factor related to human activities that may interfere with the natural ecosystem. In this study, we have selected the wetland of East Dongting Lake as the research area. We have collected 180 soil samples (within the range of 0–20 cm, and 20cm-40cm), and we have measured the contents of their physicochemical properties (including salinity, pH value, soil particle composition, soil organic carbon, nitrate nitrogen and rapidly available phosphorus) as well as heavy metal elements (including As, Hg, Cd, Pb, Ni and Cr). We have adopted the methods of multivariate statistical analysis and inverse distance weighted (IDW) interpolation, so as to to reveal the sources and distribution characteristics of heavy metal content in soil in the research area. By adopting the potential ecological risk index (PERI) method proposed by Hakanson, we intend to assess the PERI values of heavy metals. Our research findings have shown that: (1) 8 sorts of heavy metals have shown positive correlation with each other. As, Hg and Zn have shown a significantly positive correlation with SOC (P < 0.01); As, Ni, Cr and Zn have shown a significantly positive correlation with AP (P < 0.01); As and Pb have shown a significantly positive correlation with Clay (P < 0.01); whereas Hg and Zn have shown a significantly negative correlation with Silt (P < 0.01); As and Pb have shown a significantly negative correlation with Sand (P < 0.01). (2) During urbanization, the elements of Cd, Ni, As, Hg and Pb might be enriched due to agricultural and industrial activities, whereas the use of fertilizers and pesticides constitute one of the major factors contributing to the increase of Cd and Pb contents in soil. (3) Influenced by the varying land patterns and with exception to Cu, the Fe-normalized concentrations have shown significant variations among different types of land use (P < 0.05). Specifically, there is a significantly higher level of Cd, Zn, Pb and Hg contents in the agricultural land than other types of land use, whereas there is a slightly higher level of heavy metal content in the mudflats than that in the grassland. In addition, the content of heavy metals in woodland remains relatively stable, and with exception to As, the content of heavy metals in woodland is the lowest among the five types of land. (4) The average value of the comprehensive PERI in heavy metals amounts to 555.03, representing a strong degree of ecological risks. Specifically, the proportion of sampling points of Cd that have a high level of ecological risks amounts to 36.51%, which is the primary element contributing to heavy metal pollution in the region, especially in the agricultural land.
