The article is devoted to the development of an integrated complex of knowledge base and artifi-cial intelligence tools for assessing students' knowledge in mathematics within the framework of a hybrid intellectual learning environment. In accordance with the structural diagrams of mod-els of intellectual assessment of knowledge and creative potential of schoolchildren in mathe-matics, the structure of the corresponding knowledge base is formalized. The knowledge base is developed within the framework of data mining methods to create a module for monitoring and assessing knowledge in mathematics. As a methodological basis for the development of a knowledge base, the idea of V.P. Bespalko about the representation of the possible structure of human activity in the form of suc-cessive levels of assimilation, reflecting the development of the student's experience in a given subject in the learning process. The levels of assimilation (student, typical, heuristic, research) are determined through the ability to solve problems of the corresponding type. A formalized in-dicator of a student's achievement of a particular level of assimilation of educational material (level of training) is the coefficient of assimilation; assessment of the assimilation of material on a specific topic or section is provided for both at each of the above levels, and in general. The examples of the formation of a knowledge base for assessing the skills and abilities of schoolchildren in algebra are considered. To model the educational process, we propose methods for solving clustering, dimen-sionality reduction and classification problems based on machine learning and artificial neural networks. The foundations for the development of integrated complexes of knowledge bases and artificial intelligence tools to ensure the educational process are presented. The results obtained are aimed at creating methods that provide the processes of operational learning, control and assessment of knowledge, competencies and procedures, the level of formation of subject and professional competencies of students in the information and educational intellectual environment.

This article describes the problem of computer simulation of the educational process at a research university. We consider some models and methods of organizing the intelligent learning environment described by a number of researchers. We also come up with a few ideas of creating an intelligent learning environment and organizing the learning process, such as a hierarchical educational system, the model of which was tested in our previous studies.

Relevance: Parameters of learning environment and organization of the educational process can have adverse health effects in schoolchildren. Our objective was to conduct a hygienic assessment of factors of learning environment and organization of the educational process at schools of the city of Smolensk. Materials and methods: We studied indicators of indoor learning environment and the level of organization of the educational process in ten urban comprehensive schools. A hygienic assessment of the microclimate, illuminance, indoor air quality, and organization of the educational process for third and fourth graders (aged 9–11) was given. The assessment of learning conditions and organization of the educational process was carried out according to the method generally accepted in hygienic research (Suharev AG, Kanevskaya LY, 2002). Results: We found that elementary school pupils of Smolensk were exposed to multiple adverse factors such as poor microclimate parameters and insufficient natural illumination in some school rooms, excessive daily study load and irrational distribution of the academic load during the school week. The analysis of the timetable revealed an irrational distribution of the academic load in 37.3% of school days. We established that conditions of education in the surveyed urban schools were moderately dangerous to children’s health (750–806 points). Conclusion: The results enabled us to give a hygienic assessment of the factors of learning environment and organization of the educational process at schools in Smolensk and to outline a set of appropriate preventive measures.

We present a KE-tableau-based implementation of a reasoner for a decidable fragment of (stratified) set theory expressing the description logic 𝒟ℒ〈4LQSR,×〉(D) (𝒟ℒD4,×, for short). Our application solves the main TBox and ABox reasoning problems for 𝒟ℒD4,×. In particular, it solves the consistency and the classification problems for 𝒟ℒD4,×-knowledge bases represented in set-theoretic terms, and a generalization of the Conjunctive Query Answering problem in which conjunctive queries with variables of three sorts are admitted. The reasoner, which extends and improves a previous version, is implemented in C++. It supports 𝒟ℒD4,×-knowledge bases serialized in the OWL/XML format and it admits also rules expressed in SWRL (Semantic Web Rule Language).

Introduction. The amount of information offered for study in modern educational institutions is rapidly increasing. Overcoming the inconsistency of the obligation to master the increasing flow of educational information and achieving the necessary "level" of training in fulfilling the traditional requirement of pedagogy – withstanding an acceptable amount of visibility leads to the mass introduction of multimedia tools. The folding so-called clip thinking shades the problems of filling thesaurus learning information virtually uncontrollable content and quality.Materials and Methods. Theoretical and empirical methods of research were used in the course of the work: analysis, synthesis, generalization, comparison, comparison, scientific theorization.Results. Clip-thinking interferes with a clear understanding of the context, and therefore the clip leaves no trace in semantically related phenomena. The trend of radical change in the roles of teachers and students reveals the main reasons and conditions for the transition to visualized presentation of educational information. In addition to the apparent negative consequences of the current pedagogical situation, some advantages of the protective reactions developed by modern learners to the most powerful stream of educational information are revealed. Studies have confirmed the risks of over-visibility in the learning process. Objective differences in the purpose and effectiveness of the types of visibility considered are highlighted. The main points of the formation of visual images are reflected, the obligatory maintenance of the conditions of problems in the educational process is emphasized.Discussion and Conclusions. The studies that have been carried out present an argument for the recommendations for the proposed frame-graphic approach in the organization of the educational process. The orientation of the educational process for each allocated group is justified, which requires a rather different nature of the script. One solution is to use educational information visualization tools to ensure the sustainability of the creative thinking vector.

This research identifies the lecturers’ competencies which are the most important from the students’ perspective at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague and compares students’ opinion and their change over the whole study period. It does not deal with the knowledge competencies of lecturers that students cannot objectively evaluate, but with lecturers’ managerial competencies that affect the organization, forms and ways of teaching. The examined competencies are hierarchically organized into three groups of particular competencies comprising of bipolar characteristics. Based on survey of students at the University, the evaluation of importance of managerial competencies using the Analytic Hierarchy Process was performed. The findings show that Innovative education, Good communication skills, Ability of improvisation, and Democratic way of teaching are the most important lecturers’ competencies from students’ point of view. Surprisingly, Oral based presentation is preferred to IT based one. Knowledge of the most important managerial competencies can help lecturers and universities to increase quality of educational process and attractiveness of the university for students. Keywords. In the time of digital technologies and transformation of teachers’ role, the problem of the lack of teachers’ media education support and their insufficient level of readiness to implement media technologies in educational process has become of vital importance. The analysis of American scientists’ ideas has resulted in the conclusion about irreversible consequences of an insufficient level of teachers’ media education that may lead to the loss of democracy in society. In the article, the author stresses the idea about the interconnection between the teachers’ level of training to incorporate media education in the process of learning and its efficiency. It is underlined that this understanding shown by state educational establishments, administrative staff, scientists and teachers is not widely accepted, which is proved by the quantity of media courses, character of training in universities and the time of such training appearance in the curriculum of pedagogical educational establishments. Until recently, in spite of inclusion of media education knowledge in curricular, teachers have been left without proper training in such an activity in the system of formal education. On the example of a number of American and Canadian universities (Indiana University Bloomington, University of Massachusetts, Manitoba University, Vancouver University), the author has distinguished the ways of future teacher media training in formal education (as special training in the area of communication, as a separate course, as components of every course, taught at university). The main peculiarity of the future teacher media training is the encouraging Centres for Online and Digital Learning and libraries which offer necessary support in conducting lessons with digital media tools, media services, consultations on doing media tasks and incorporating media in educational process in schools.

Xper3 (Vignes Lebbe et al. 2016) is a collaborative knowledge base publishing platform that, since its launch in november 2013, has been adopted by over 2 thousand users (Pinel et al. 2017). This is mainly due to its user friendly interface and the simplicity of its data model. The data are stored in MySQL Relational DBs, but the exchange format uses the TDWG standard format SDD (Structured Descriptive DataHagedorn et al. 2005). However, each Xper3 knowledge base is a closed world that the author(s) may or may not share with the scientific community or the public via publishing content and/or identification key (Kopfstein 2016). The explicit taxonomic, geographic and phenotypic limits of a knowledge base are not always well defined in the metadata fields. Conversely terminology vocabularies, such as Phenotype and Trait Ontology PATO and the Plant Ontology PO, and software to edit them, such as Protégé and Phenoscape, are essential in the semantic web, but difficult to handle for biologist without computer skills. These ontologies constitute open worlds, and are expressed themselves by RDF triples (Resource Description Framework). Protégé offers vizualisation and reasoning capabilities for these ontologies (Gennari et al. 2003, Musen 2015). Our challenge is to combine the user friendliness of Xper3 with the expressive power of OWL (Web Ontology Language), the W3C standard for building ontologies. We therefore focused on analyzing the representation of the same taxonomic contents under Xper3 and under different models in OWL. After this critical analysis, we chose a description model that allows automatic export of SDD to OWL and can be easily enriched. We will present the results obtained and their validation on two knowledge bases, one on parasitic crustaceans (Sacculina) and the second on current ferns and fossils (Corvez and Grand 2014). The evolution of the Xper3 platform and the perspectives offered by this link with semantic web standards will be discussed.
