This study aimed to determine the effect of learning model contextual teaching and learning assistanceproblem card of the mathematical problem solving ability of students. Randomly selected two classes as research subjects. Experimental class by learning model contextual teaching and learning assistance problem card with the number 31 and the control class by conventional teaching methods of inquiry that amounted to 30 people.  Based on the results obtained 36,509 4.18296 so that the direction of significant coefficient, 0.94765.76872 then linear, 4,36 1.70 then learning model contextual teaching and learning assistance problem card can impact the ability of students' mathematical problem solving.

Learning model chosen by educators teacher has not been able to accommodate the mathematics problems of students. For that, the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model was applied. The purpose of research is to collation the mathematical problem solving abilities of students who are using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model and using the ordinary learning model (scientific approach). This type of research is a quasy experiment with randomized control group only design. The population of this study were all students of class VII SMPN 1 Danau Kembar. For to get sample class with random sampling technique. As for the research instrument used in the study is a test of mathematical problem solving students abilities. Based on the results of this avarage mathematical problem solving students abilities experiment class and control class is 80,30 and 73,16. Than the hypothesis testing using the t-test. From calculation result obtained t_count > t_table 2,21 > 1,64) with alpha=0,05 with 95% confidence interval so H0 rejected and accepted H1.Keywords : Mathematical problem solving abilities, Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL)

The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the effect of Contextual Teaching and Learning learning models on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities on the material of the surface area of ​​flat build in class IV of SDN Peunaga Cut Ujong. This study uses a quantitative approach and the type of research used is experimental research. The population in this study were the fourth grade students of SDN Peunaga Cut Ujong which amounted to 28 students. The data collection techniques are documentation, observation and tests of mathematical problem solving abilities given essay. Data processing techniques use statistical tests using the t test formula. The results showed that students' mathematical problem solving ability using Contextual Teaching and Learning  learning model was better than conventional learning, indicated by the average post-test score of students who used Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model, which was 78.82 and students with conventional learning obtain an average post-test score of 66.58. Based on the results of the calculation of the t-test with a significant level of α = 0.05 and dk = 27. From this value obtained tcount> t table is 4.55> 1.70, so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted so it can be concluded that there is a significant effect on the students' mathematical problem solving ability on the material of flat surface area through Contextual Teaching and Learning  learning model in the fourth grade of SD Negeri Peunaga Cut Ujong. This shows that learning by applying Contextual Teaching and Learning  learning models can improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities.   Abstrak Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada materi luas permukaan bangun datar di kelas IV Sekolah Dasar Negeri Peunaga Cut Ujong. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar Negeri Peunaga Cut Ujong yang berjumlah 28 siswa. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data adalah dokumentasi, observasi dan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yang diberikan secara essay. Teknik pengolahan data menggunakan uji statistik dengan menggunakan rumus uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning lebih baik dari pada pembelajaran konvensional, ditunjukkan dengan rata-rata nilai post-test siswa  yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning yaitu 78,82 dan siswa dengan pembelajaran konvensional memperoleh rata-rata nilai post-test yaitu 66,58. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji t – tes dengan taraf signifikan α = 0,05 dan dk = 27. Dari nilai tersebut diperoleh thitung> ttabel yaitu 4,55> 1,70, sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada materi luas permukaan bangun datar melalui model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning di kelas IV Sekolah Dasar Negeri Peunaga Cut Ujong. Hal ini menunjukkanbahwa pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the improvement of students' mathematical problem-solving abilities with the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach in the material of the two-variable linear equation system in class X SMA Negeri 2 Pematangsiantar. This study used an experimental method with the aim of being in accordance with the previous statement to determine the difference in students' mathematical problem-solving abilities with a contextual approach and an expository approach, with a randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The average increase in problem-solving abilities in the control class was 0.1688 while the increase in problem-solving abilities in the experimental class was 0.0085. By using the t-test (SPSS), with a value of Fcount = 10.907 and a significant level of 0.05, a significant probability is obtained 0.002 <0.05, it can be concluded that there is a difference in normalized gain or an increase in problem-solving ability with conventional and contextual approaches. Based on the average gain of the control and experimental classes, the increase in the control class using the conventional approach is higher than the experimental class with the contextual approach. The difference in increasing problem-solving abilities in conventional classrooms is possible due to differences in students' entry-level abilities, which can be seen in the average pretest of each class.

Abstrak. Pemecahan masalah merupakan kemampuan dasar yang seharusnya dimiliki ole siswa. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis berperan dalam menyelesaikan setiap permasalahan baik pelajaran lain maupun permasalahan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Melalui kegiatan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa diarahkan dalam membangun pengetahuan matematika, berpikir logis, sistematis dan terukur. Faktanya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa masih rendah. Proses pembelajaran yang menitikberatkan pada latihan yang memberikan kesempatan pada siswa dalam mengembangkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis menjadi model perbaikan dalam proses pembelajaran. Model pembelajaran missouri mathematic project merupakan model pembelajaran yang tepat memfasilitasi siswa dalam mengembangkan pemikirannya dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal pemecahan masalah matematis. Untuk itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran missouri mathematic project. Jenis penelitian merupkan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Subjek penelitian siswa kelas V MIS Al Firdausy Pematang Reba. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis terjadi peningkatan pada setiap siklus dimulai dari tes awal pra tindakan, siklus I dan siklus II. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran missouri mathematic project. Abstract. Problem solving is a basic skill that should be possessed by students. Mathematical problem solving abilities play a role in solving every problem both other subjects and problems in everyday life. Through mathematical problem solving activities students are directed to build mathematical knowledge, think logically, systematically and measurably. The fact is that students' mathematical problem solving abilities are still low. The learning process that focuses on exercises that provide opportunities for students to develop mathematical problem solving skills to become a model for improvement in the learning process. The Missouri Mathematical Project learning model is an appropriate learning model to facilitate students in developing their thinking in solving mathematical problem solving problems. For this reason, this study aims to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities through the application of the Missouri mathematical learning model. This type of research is a classroom action research (PTK). The research subjects were grade V students of MIS Al Firdausy Pematang Reba. The data collection technique used was a mathematical problem-solving ability test. The data analysis technique used is quantitative data analysis. Based on the results of the test of mathematical problem solving abilities, there was an increase in each cycle starting from the initial pre-action test, cycle I and cycle II. It can be concluded that there is an increase in students' mathematical problem solving abilities through the application of the Missouri mathematical learning model.

<p>This paper describes one way that teachers as educators can face the challenges of the industrial revolution 4.0, namely by instilling and preparing creative and character-based leaders. Education as character building can be implemented using Ki Hajar Dewantara's leadership concepts, namely Ing Ngarsa Sung Tuladha, Ing Madya Mangun Karsa, and Tut Wuri Handayani. The concept of leadership was first adopted as a cooperative learning model which emphasized exemplariness in group learning. The group leader is called tuladha and is the facilitator of the group. Tuladha utilizes the Internet of Things. Before the teaching and learning process in class, information, concepts or ideas, and examples are posted by the teacher to the tuladha. This study is an experimental study with the sample used meeting the prerequisites of the statistical test used. The results showed that students' mathematical problem solving abilities increased significantly using the Ing Ngarsa Sung Tuladha cooperative learning model over the usual method. The category of improving students' mathematical problem solving abilities that obtain the Ing Ngarsa Sung Tuladha cooperative learning model is in the high category.</p>

This study is a pre test-post test experimental control group design having a goal to analyze  the role of contextual teaching and learning (CTL)  on students’ mathematical problem solving ability  (MPSA) and disposition (MD). The study involved 40  tenth grade students of a Madrasah Alyah (MA), a mathematical problem solving test, a mathematical  disposition scale. The study found that on MPSA, its gain, and on MD, students getting treatment with CTL attained better grades than grades of students taught by conventional teaching. Even if, both students’ grades on MPSA were still at very low level, on MD,  first group students’ grade on MD  was at medium level and the second group students’ grade was at low level.  Many students still realized difficulty on compiling MPSA. The other findings, there was no association between MPSA and MD, but students performed good perception toward CTL approach.

 ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was to know whether contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approach could improve students’ mathematical problem solving ability (SMPSA) in eighth grade of SMP Negeri 1 Binjai. The type of this research was Classroom Action Research. The subject of this research was students in class VIII-9 which consisted of 20 students. The object was SMPSA on cube and cuboid topic in eighth grade of SMP Negeri 1 Binjai Academic Year 2015/2016.This study consisted of two cycles.  Each cycle had two meetings. SMPSA was tested in the end of cycle. Instrument used to collect data in this research were test and observation sheet. After giving a treatment to students, in the first cycle, the average score of their mathematical problem solving ability was 2.30. Ten of  20 students (50%) obtained score ³ 2.67. The average score of teacher’s activities in observation sheet was 2.66, which classified as good category. The average score of students’ activities in observation sheet was 2.55, which classified as good category. In the second cycle, the average score of mathematical problem solving ability was increased became 3.05 with 18 students (90%) obtained score ³ 2.67. The average score of teacher’s activities in observation sheet was 3.44, which classified as very good category. The average score of students’ activities in observation sheet was 3.22, which classified as very good category. From the result of research, it can be concluded that the implementation of contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approach can improve students’ problem solving ability. The suggestion that given for teachers is to be able to implement contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approach as an alternative in learning process that can improve problem solving ability.Keywords : Contextual Learning, Mathematical Problem solving Ability

This research is motivated by students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. One way to improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities is with the CTL learning approach. The purpose of this research is: 1) to know whether the average ability of mathematical problem solving of students who get learning with CTL approach is higher than the average problem-solving abilities of mathematical students who obtain conventional learning; 2) to find out whether the average mathematical problem-solving ability of the students who acquired the learning with Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach is higher than the minimum criterion value (KKM). This research type is quasi-experiment. The research design used is Nonequivalent Control Group Design. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Simpang Renggiang, East Belitung Regency in the academic year 2015/2016. Sampling was done by cluster random sampling. The sample in this research is class VII. 2 as the experimental class and class VII.3 as the control class. The research instrument used is a valid test instrument in the form of a matter of pretest and posttest in the form of a description. Data were analyzed using a non-parametric statistic test. The results of the research have shown that the average problem-solving ability of students who acquire mathematics learning with CTL approach is better than students who follow the conventional mathematics learning, the average problem-solving ability of mathematical students who gain learning with CTL approach less than or equal with KKM. Keywords: Mathematical problem solving, CTL approach, quasi-experiment, cluster random sampling
