This article reports the results of a study on how to fill the free market program of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). Indonesia has significant demographic bonus when compared to other ASEAN countries, so that specifically Indonesia will become an easy target for economic activity (read: free market flow transactions) carried out by all members of ASEAN. Demographic bonus is an opportunity and challenge for the Indonesian people, both for those who live in cities or in the countryside. This condition will be more complicated, if the mapping potential of the population does not become a serious concern for the government and stakeholders so that the people of Indonesia will become the largest consumer for products of ASEAN countries. One of the potential populations of Indonesia is women, because they have specific skills that are able to be directed towards an income. The purpose of this study is to prepare the people of Indonesia who have the skills, especially women in entering the AEC both urban and rural communities. This study uses a qualitative method of observation, interviews and review of documents, such as books, newspapers and others.

School autonomy with its local curriculum as a sign for an area will provide opportunities for the region to develop its regional potential, including North Maluku, where most of the people live in coastal areas. Regional autonomy opens up space for the region to improve its education, and the coastal communities of North Maluku must be of special concern because of the potential of fisheries, coral reefs, mangrove forests, marine tourism islands, and others not touched by skilled hands, because they are not taught in education . Not to mention the local potential and cultural values of the people who are very very diverse which tend to be ignored. Even though all of this is the foundation supporting the national strength and integrity of the NKRI. Over time, the ASEAN Ecconomy Community (AEC) or the ASEAN Economic Community (MEA) was present and became a challenge for the people of North Maluku. If the education of the people of North Maluku is not qualified and ignores local values, then the output of education will be spectators and slaves in their own country. Ki Hadjar Dewantara has reminded us that "our culture is pressured by European culture; this is good, but even the big language seems to be hanging up ... The tools for reducing that language are: ... education, education for our children, for many people in our society.Key Words: Otonomi, local curriculum, asean ecconomy community

Islam is a belief that has a social teaching dimension, to encourage poverty alleviation through the exploitation (ZIS) of "zakat, infaq, and alms". Furthermore, this charity is an instrument in economic empowerment activities, namely efforts to provide free assistance to help Muslims who are less economically empowered so that they are able to help themselves. NU means the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia. NU means an inseparable part in the dynamics of the history of the development of the Indonesian nation. Indonesia in general. While NU's organizational principles have long held the concept of economic welfare, indirectly NU still seems to not prioritize empowerment in the economic sector. When dealing with the MEA (Asean Economic Community), NU's strategies and actions in carrying out the mandate to increase the welfare of the people must be right. The accuracy of the tactics and actions in question is of course permanent based on a clear religious dimension.

ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) has been agreed by the ASEAN leaders in 2003 as one mechanism to increase the social economic welfare of the people in ASEAN countries. Whilst it is no doubt the formation of AEC will give many benefits to ASEAN countries, there will be also negative impacts of the AEC. This paper aimed at analysing the implication and challenges of the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) toward Indonesian economy with particular attention to agricultural sector and the micro and small-medium enterprises (SMEs) development. The paper argues inter alia that the formation of AEC will give benefit to ASEAN countries if and only if the ASEAN community has one voice in socio-economic and policial commitment and coordination. The economic sectors that need further greater improvement toward the success of the formation are agricultural sector and the micro, small and medium enterprises. Thus, much remain to be done by ASEAN countries in general and in Indonesia in particular toward the success of .the formation of AEC.
