The operation described by Miles in 1908, an effective method in the radical treatment of tumors of the anus and lower rectum [1], and with better survival, leaves the stigma of the definitive iliac colostomy that leads to various psychosocial disorders [2]. Seeking to reduce social and family rejection, in addition to gas elimination and lack of control of the stools by the absence of sphincter, several methods of stools retention have been described [3-6]. Dr. Lázaro Da Silva, in Brazil, made the first perineal valve colostomy in 1991, when performing 2 to 3 extra-mucosal circular seromiotomies with invaginating seromuscular synthesis, with the meso-redundant occupying the pelvis, the distal valve stayed extra peritoneal and the proximal fixed to the promontory, this prevents or delays the excretion of stools directly [7]. It is indicated in patients proposed for abdominoperineal resection post-neoadjuvant, benign lesions with extensive sphincter involvement, extensive or intractable stenosis after perineal radiotherapy. This procedure is reserved for young or older patients in good physical condition, good cognitive level and without indication of postoperative radiotherapy [8].

The aim of the study was to determine whether blind children in a well-equipped modern institution are receiving enough physical education activities to maintain good physical condition. Toward this end, the physiological characteristics of 20 institutionalized blind children were measured according to body composition, pulmonary function, and tolerance for exercise. The volunteer sample was characterized by “creeping overweight,” weak upper limbs, and a low aerobic capacity. No clinical or physiological contraindications to vigorous physical exercise were observed.

This article is a chronology of the day-by-day life of an inmate in his final week on death row. The procedures designed for this special prisoner—involving, for the warden, unique problems of management—deal with every detail that can possibly be regu lated : counting, feeding, shaving, clothing, mail, visits, preserva tion of good physical condition, etc. The daily schedules present a rhythmic application of traditional prison practices and unique death row procedures; together, they make up a script of how executions have been carried out for years in California. In space- age terms, this ritual of procedures in the last week of the con demned man's life is a "count down" to death.

New knowledge and technology brought about by globalization can be applied to revitalize local cultures in innovative ways. It can start with glocalization community design to sustain unique traditional events so as to energize the community. The paper proposes a study on designing assistive devices for exclusive palanquin carriers for a local religious event. Field investigation, questionnaire survey, and in-depth interviews were adopted to design appropriate assistive devices for palanquin carriers. This design used shoulder protectors to reduce the pain of the palanquin carriers. It is recommended that the palanquin carriers wear a shoulder protective vest with a protector applied to each shoulder to share the weight of the palanquin to maintain a good physical condition so as to facilitate the completion of the event. The task is to develop a protective vest that the palanquin carriers love to wear and will become the focus of attention in the detouring. The designed protective vest could attract more young people to participate in the event, that is how the aging problem could be solved. It is the first but important step to resolve the aging crisis of the event.

Used teat-cup liners, appearing in reasonably good physical condition but having microscopic breakdown of the inside surfaces, were compared with new liners with respect to effect on the bacterial counts of milk. Under similar practical conditions, milk from units equipped with the used liners sometimes had considerably higher counts than milk from the new liner units. When the contamination level was low there was little consistent difference in milk counts.

This prospective cohort study identified risk factors for the development of caregiver burden and included older cancer survivors, middle-aged cancer survivors, older patients without cancer and their caregivers. Overall, more than 16 per cent of caregivers experienced high-to-severe burden at baseline. This proportion remained stable after 1 and 3 years. Caregivers who experienced increased caregiver burden at baseline were at higher risk maintaining their caregiver burden over the following years. Caregiver burden was not related to the cancer diagnosis but rather to the baseline psychosocial well-being of both the caregiver and patient and the physical condition of the patient.

We report a case of a 51-year-old woman who was admitted to the hospital after ingestion of large doses of dipyridamole (12 g), temazepam (1 g) and oxazepam (0.2 g) with suicidal intent. The highest dipyridamole concentration that was measured in serum was 9.2 mg/L, which was paralleled by impaired platelet activation. For temazepam and oxazepam, peak serum concentrations were 8.5 and 1.3 mg/L, respectively. The patient was treated with activated charcoal, magnesium sulfate and aminophylline and could be discharged in good physical condition within 17 hours. This is the first report that provides toxicokinetic data and a corresponding pharmacodynamic effect after an intoxication with dipyridamole.

Abstract In October 2020, three captive male white-tailed deer, Odocoileus virginianus [Zimmermann] (artiodactyla: Cervidae), were found dead in central Pennsylvania and a fourth was euthanized due to extreme lethargy. The deer presented with high burdens of Dermacentor albipictus (Packard) (Ixoda: Ixodidae) (winter tick). There were no other clinical symptoms and deer were in otherwise good physical condition with no observed alopecia. Winter tick epizootics have been associated with mortalities of moose, Alces alces [Linnaeus] (artiodactyla: cervidae), and more recently elk, Cervus canadensis [Erxleben] (artiodactyla: cervidae), in Pennsylvania, but have not been reported in white-tailed deer. Mild winters are favorable to winter ticks and deer producers and managers should be aware of possible infestations as a result.

<strong>Abstract:</strong> There are many forms of training to improve the quality of physical condition of the tennis court athletes, one of which is coordination training. Thus, the author would like to try applying various forms of coordination exercises that are applied to children aged 10-11 years who participate in tennis clubs in the City of Tasikmalaya to support hand coordination. The aim of this research is to find out eye-hand coordination in elementary school students. The focus of this research is limited to the effectiveness of Coordination to support good physical condition in children. This research used experimental research methods. The population in this research were all 30 children who joined the tennis club in Tasikmalaya City. The sampling technique used is the total sampling technique. In order to get objective data, the author uses a measuring instrument in the form of a test that is eye-hand coordination test. Based on the results of this research and statistical calculations on the data obtained in this research, the authors can conclude that coordination exercises have a significant influence on improving eye-hand coordination especially for beginner tennis players of elementary school age.
