The intensive development of tourism in the 19th century significantly contributed to the emergence of the guide’s profession. In earlier centuries, this feat was practiced by random people, often unqualified, but with time they became indispensable companions and patrons of tourists. Special qualities were required from mountain guides who, when introducing people to the mountains, had to show special qualities: responsibility, good knowledge of the topography of a given area, care, specific knowledge, as well as good physical condition. The job was professionalized the earliest in the Alps, but the process took place more or less at the same time in other European mountains, for example in the Karkonosze Mountains. It was much more difficult to hire an experienced guide in the Carpathians, where the leadership developed much later. Travel literature of the nineteenth century brought numerous accounts describing the relationship between the guide and the tourist as well as providing numerous realistic descriptions of the first to “hike in the mountains”. Due to the factual nature of this travel literature (diaries, memoirs, etc.), the pioneers of the leadership remained anonymous and found their place in the history of tourism and mountain climbing. This article omits the subject of Tatra guides, which will be the subject of a separate study.

Motivations to run marathons have been recognised by many researchers, but few have paid attention to triathletes. Mass triathlon participation is a new trend, which manifests itself as a human need to invoke strong emotions and seek them in difficult sports, as well as to travel to participate in such events. Therefore, the main goal of this study was to recognise the motivations to participate in triathlons among men and women respondents, and to evaluate the differences between them. The empirical research among triathletes (n = 1141) recognised the motives for participation in mass triathlon sporting events in accordance with four types of orientation: social, experience, factual, and result. Most important conclusions resulting from the conducted research indicate that women significantly more often displayed the will to feel unity and integration, as well as the desire to gain recognition in the eyes of others, as compared to men. For men, the desire to feel equal was significantly more important than for women. Both men and women indicated the desire to maintain good physical condition and health, which turned out to be a significant factor. For men, Group B—specifying the experience orientation, was deemed the most important, while for women the most important group of motives was Group D—specifying the result orientation.

Abstract Poland sees the increasing popularisation of sustainable housing and the growing awareness of the importance of sport development. A good physical condition of residents translates into effective work, whereas caring for the environment improves living standards. Introducing healthy lifestyle from an early age has the best results. Due to this fact in Poland every school has its own sports hall. The pilot programme to build swimming pools near every primary school was introduced in Lower-Silesian district and it is called ‘Dolnośląski Delfinek’ (Lower Silesian Little Dolphin). Swimming pool buildings are characterised by high demand for heat. Their operation burdens district budgets and indirectly every taxpayer. Those facilities are occasionally rented commercially to earn some money for maintenance expenses. The costs usually exceed the income of those buildings. The article discusses results of thermo-vision (infrared) tests and presents the analysis of the technical documentation of twenty eight public utility buildings located in Poland. The investigations encompass conventional, energy-saving and passive buildings. The conventional buildings described in the work are school swimming pools from the programme ‘Dolnośląski Delfinek’ (Lower-Silesian Little Dolphin), whereas energy-saving and passive buildings include office, industrial, hotel, educational and sports buildings (including an indoor swimming pool). This article aims to find the most effective design manner and energy-saving sports buildings construction such as swimming pools. The results obtained in the tests indicate the necessity of compliance with the energy-saving technology in the design and construction of public utility buildings. A conclusion arises that swimming pool buildings are the most suitable candidates for passive buildings.

A good physical condition is crucial to support achieving maximum performance, so proper training is needed, such as Tabata Training and High Intensity Interval Training. The aims of this study are to examine and analyze the different effects of those training on increasing strength and speed. This study used a "randomized group pretest and posttest design". The population in this study was male students of PKO FIO UNESA 2016, amounting to 160 students. The sampling technique used was random sampling with a sample of 30 students. The 30 students are divided into 3 groups, namely the group of Tabata Training, High Intensity Interval Training and, the control group. This type of research was a quasi-experimental, with a quantitative approach. The data were collected by measuring some techniques, such as measuring strength by using a back and leg dynamometer to measure limb muscle strength and measuring speed by using a 30-meter run. The data were analyzed by using MANOVA technique, with α 0.05.The results showed that the effect of Tabata training toward increasing strength with a value of p = 0.000, the effect Tabata training toward the increasing speed with a value of p = 0.000, then the effect of high intensity interval training toward the increasing strength with a value of p = 0.000, the effect of high intensity interval training toward the increasing speed with a value of p = 0.000. Based on the result of the two trainings result, it concluded that high intensity interval training is better than tabata training in increasing strength and speed.eed.

The objective of the research was to obtain useful information on physical training for senior handball players, for this purpose we developed and applied a training plan designed to achieve a high level of physical training. Each test applied to athletes was relevant, in order to obtain useful information on physical training, for senior handball players. Specialization and differentiated treatment of players during training is a fundamental methodological orientation in modern sports training, required by the heterogeneous composition of groups of players in terms of somato-functional development and motor skills qualities. The research conclusions, obtained after applying the initial and final tests, indicate the need to apply training programs specific to the sport played, customized according to the specifics of the game, age and motor experience, to improve the physical training of senior handball players. A good physical condition and specific to the handball game is essential in the current handball game and offers the optimal conditions for obtaining sports performance. A contribution to the development of the training process has the training plan which establishes the objective, the share of specific training factors for each training stage. The means and methods exposed in the training program of the experiment group were successful, and its effect materialized through a real increase in motor skill indices. At the final test, the athletes included in the control group reported a relative and insignificant evolution of the specific physical condition, at the final tests for the evaluation of the specific physical condition obtaining a significant improvement of the results.

Background: Intraductal papillary neoplasm of the bile duct (IPNB) is a rare biliary benign tumor with atypical clinical features and is frequently misdiagnosed. Its treatment is limited and surgical resection is thought to be the only therapeutic option in patients with IPNB. With the aim of increasing the early diagnosis rate of IPNB and providing more therapeutic options for surgeons, we innovatively put forward the concept of combined utilization of SpyGlass and endoscopic endoluminal radiofrequency ablation (ERFA) in the diagnosis and treatment of IPNB.Case Presentation: An 85-year-old woman was referred to our hospital due to right upper quadrant abdominal pain. The image examinations indicated suspicious filling defects at the upper common bile duct. Further evaluation of SpyGlass cholangioscopy showed multiple reddish villous lesions at the left hepatic duct, and SpyBite biopsy under direct visualization demonstrated papillary low-grade dysplasia. In consideration of the advanced age and preference of the patient, the novel ERFA therapy was performed. The procedure was successful without periprocedural complications; the patient recovered uneventfully and was discharged 2 days after the operation. Upon follow-up, the patient was asymptomatic and in good physical condition at 8 months postoperatively. Conclusion: Preliminarily, we demonstrate that the strategy of a combination of SpyGlass and ERAF seems to be a promising, feasible, well-tolerated, and safe management for patients with IPNB. However, more data with larger patient volumes are needed to evaluate its outcomes further.

Tennis is a very explosive, continuous, and intense sport, including many continuous short-term explosive actions. It has the characteristics of short-term, high-intensity, high-density training, and it belongs to the category of purely competitive skills. In the competition, athletes must maintain good physical condition, physical fitness, and long-term endurance in order to demonstrate outstanding technical and tactical skills. Therefore, this paper proposes a mobile processor performance data mining framework MobilePerfMiner, which uses hardware counters and iteratively uses the XGBoost algorithm to build a performance model, ranks the importance of the microarchitecture events of the big data task, and reduces the performance big data dimension, so as to optimize the big data algorithm according to the performance characteristics described. Undoubtedly, the comprehensive monitoring of the sports training process is complex system engineering. The main monitoring includes three aspects: physical condition, technical and tactical skills, and intelligence. Sports technology is reflected in the ultimate load. According to the convenience and actual needs of the research, this article will discuss the methods of evaluating tennis training load and the actual technical and tactical parameter characteristics that can be obtained by studying the characteristics of tennis, namely, kinematics. Parameters for noncontact testing, the next step is to discuss the appropriateness and necessity of the load, as well as the technical and routine monitoring of tennis training ability. The final experimental results show that it can improve the physical energy of tennis players by more than 17%.
