In the present investigation an attempt was made to study the Self-efficacy, as a predictor of Life satisfaction among undergraduate students. A sample of 120 under-graduate students from Faculty of Social Science, AMU, Aligarh was drawn by using purposive sampling technique. General Self-Efficacy Scale–Hindi Version (GSE-H) developed by Jerusalem & Schwarzer (1992) and Satisfaction with life Scale developed by Diener, Emmons, Larsen, and Griffen (1985) were administered. For the data analyses Simple Linear Regression was applied. The findings of the present study showed that Self-efficacy and Life Satisfaction significantly correlated with each other and Self-Efficacy had its significant impact on Life Satisfaction among under-graduate students.

The present study was conducted to investigate the relationship between closeness to religion and satisfaction in life in undergraduate students at Kohat University of Science & Technology (KUST), KPK, Pakistan. A total sample of 100 undergraduate students was selected through a convenience sampling technique comprising 50 male and 50 female undergraduate students. The questionnaires were uploaded as Google forms to collect data virtually from the participants due to the current COVID-19 pandemic in Pakistan. The undergraduate students having age range 20-22 years were included in the study. Two different standardized tools, Satisfaction with Life Scale developed by Diener et al. (1985) and Daily Spiritual Experience Scale developed by Underwood and Teresi (2002) were used. The data was analyzed by mean, standard deviation, and Pearson’s product-moment correlation. The results showed significant positive correlations between religiosity, religious well-being, and life satisfaction. It is suggested for researchers to explore more variables related to religiosity and life satisfaction.

<p>Rescuers jobs are important because these are related with own and others lives. The present study was conducted to study that how burnout levels are related with rescuers and their jobs? Copenhagen Burnout Inventory, Self-efficacy scale and the satisfaction with life scale were administered to 120 male rescuers working in a government department serving against various positions. It was found that self-efficacy was significantly correlated with life satisfaction (<i>r</i>= .45, <i>p</i>< .01) among rescuers. Moreover it was found that self-efficacy and life satisfaction were negatively correlated with burnout (<i>r</i>= -.71, <i>p</i>< .01), (<i>r</i>= -.56, <i>p</i>< .01). Some important demographic findings regarding age, assignment and education also emerged. Cross-cultural studies recommended. </p>

In recent times, religiosity and spirituality have received much attention towards mental health, but very few investigations worked on their role on life satisfaction within the gender perspective. The present study, however, investigates the relationships between religiosity, spirituality, and life satisfaction among individuals residing in Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Pakistan, with special reference to gender. For this purpose, a sample of 150 adults (71 men and 79 women) were selected by convenient sampling technique and was evaluated using validated versions of three scales: Religious Orientation Scale (ROS), Spirituality Scale (SS), and Satisfaction with Life Scale (SLS). Results indicate that religiosity and spirituality have a significant positive correlation with life satisfaction. Results of linear regression showed that religiosity and spirituality significantly predict life satisfaction. Women reported more religious orientation and spirituality as compared to men in the sample studied. The study is useful for both men and women, highlighting the importance of one's orientation towards religion.

In the present study of the influence of health value as a potential moderator of age and life satisfaction, 157 undergraduate students ( M = 20.8 yr.) completed a battery in which they provided demographic information and completed a number of different self-report measures, including the Satisfaction With Life Scale and the Health Value Scale. A 2 (younger vs older) × 2 (high vs low health value) analysis of variance with life satisfaction as the dependent variable showed a significant main effect for health value and a significant interaction between age and health value but no main effect for age. These findings support health value as a moderator of the relation between age and psychological well-being. Implications for research and practice are discussed.

The most common physical deformity includes upper and lowers limbs deformity that could be acquired or congenital. Such deformity produces difficulty in daily life activities including reaching, walking, lifting, and carrying things. The present study aimed to explore life satisfaction and attitude towards disability between congenital and acquired physical disabilities. A sample of eighty (N=80) participants was included in the study out of which (n=40) were congenital and (n=40) were acquired physical disables. The sample was collected from different rehabilitation and paraplegic centers as well as institutions through the purposive sampling technique. Satisfaction with life scale and attitude toward disabled person scales were included. It was hypothesized that there will be a significant difference in terms of life satisfaction between congenital and acquired physical disables. The second hypothesis was the attitude towards disability will be positive among the congenital group than the acquired one. An independent sample t-test (IBM SPSS statistics version 20) was applied to analyze the difference between congenital and acquired physical disables.  Results of the study indicated that congenital physical disabled were found with highly satisfied from their life (α=.000) and possess a positive attitude towards disability (α=.000) than the acquired physical disables.

The aim of this study was to find out the relationship between social support and life satisfaction among adolescents. The sample consisted of N=80 participants. Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) developed by Zimet et al. (1988) and Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLF) prepared by Diener et al. (1985), were used to collect the data. The Simple Linear Regression and Pearson Correlation were used for data analyses. The findings of this study revealed that, there is positive and significant relationship between social support and life satisfaction of adolescents. Further this study indicates that social support influences life satisfaction of adolescents. This study may have its own significance in managing psychological distress and optimizing life satisfaction to adolescents at large.

Introduction: The aim of the presented research was to check whether there is a connection between teachers’ self-efficacy and their psychological well-being from a holistic (hedonic and eudaimonic) perspective. Method: The study involved 100 teachers who were asked to fill in the following research tools with proven psychometric properties: the General Self-Efficacy Scale, the Satisfaction with Life Scale, the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule, and the Psychological Well-being Scale. Results: The obtained data confirm that there is a connection between self-efficacy belief, and hedonic and eudaimonic well-being. The degree of professional promotion grades modifies the relationships considered. Conclusions: The psychological well-being of teachers is significantly associated with their evaluation of efficacy, which may have a positive impact on the effectiveness of teachers’ professional functioning and the achievements of their students.

 ABSTRACT BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVE: The objective of our study is to evaluate the prevalence of anxiety, stress and depression in undergraduate MBBS students to correlate it with self-efficacy, life satisfaction and to evaluate its effect on academic performance. We have also considered the relation between academic year and last year score. METHODOLOGY: A total of 800 self-administered questionnaires were filled by 1st year to final year undergraduate students using non-probability, purposive sampling. The 10-minute questionnaire comprised of four sections: (1) demographics (2) Depression, Stress and Anxiety Scale (DASS ) 21 scoring system (3) Satisfaction with Life Scale (4) General Self-Efficacy Scale. The demographic questions included participants’ age, gender, and year of study, residence and last year professional examination score percentage. A percentage below 50% was named as low achievers. A percentage from 50% to 70% was considered as moderate achievers and above 70% as high achievers.  RESULTS: In this sample of 505 students 180 (35.6%) were male undergraduates consisting of 18.6% from 1st year, 26.5% from 2nd year and 20.8%, 18% and 16% from 3rd year, 4th year and final year respectively. The depression, anxiety and stress rate were 69.5%, 78.6% and 63.4% respectively. Generally, depression, anxiety and stress were found more in females as compared to males. Anxiety was more common as compared to stress and depression. Students of 4th year were experiencing least psychological stress. CONCLUSION: Moderate level of depression, stress and anxiety is necessary for good grades but excess of these psychological problems leads to emotional exhaustion and has a negative effect on learning and academic score. These psychological problems also lower the general self-efficacy of a student and are associated with low satisfaction with life.

This paper proposes to establish a connection between two variables - Value System and Life Satisfaction - amongst Indian students. Ten value types are measured based on Schwartz's Theory of Basic Values. A value, defined by Milton Rokeach (1973) is ‘an enduring belief that a specific mode of conduct or end-state of existence is personally or socially preferable to an opposite or converse mode of conduct or end-state of existence’. While the dependent variable, as in life satisfaction refers to how comfortable an individual is with regards to the social, economic, religious/spiritual and personal aspects of their lives. The data was collected from 100 college-going students using the random sampling technique. For the purpose, two paper-pencil tests were used. One of the two tools was The Portrait Values Questionnaire (PVQ) by Shalom Schwartz (2001), which is used to measure an individual's value system. It comprises of 40 items and 10 variables, which include conformity, tradition, benevolence, universalism, self-direction, stimulation, hedonism, achievement, power and security. While the second instrument used was Sense of Coherence Scale from the "Satisfaction With Life Scale" (1985) which measures life satisfaction of an individual. It consists of 29 items and one factor, which is life satisfaction itself. Analysis of the collected data was done using Excel and SPSS. To analyze the collected data, a correlation was used. All of the values exhibited a negative correlation with life satisfaction. However, the correlation coefficient of stimulation, achievement, power, and security in comparison to life satisfaction was found to be the lowest.

The main purpose of this study was to identify the existing relationship between character strengths and life satisfaction, as well as some sociodemographic aspects related to gender differences. Both the Virtue and Strength Inventory (IVYF; Cosentino & Castro, 2008) and the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS; Diener, Emmons, Larsen & Griffin, 1985) were administered to 343 undergraduate students whose primary major of study pertained to health professions. Results indicated that for women, love and gratitude are the strengths that explained 21.3 % of the variance regarding satisfaction with life, while love and social intelligence predicted 44.5 % of life satisfaction for men. Results are discussed under the light of cultural differences.
