Abstract. This paper proposes a method of valuing the stock of residential buildings in Spain as the first step in assessing possible damage caused to them by natural hazards. For the purposes of the study we had access to the SIOSE (the Spanish Land Use and Cover Information System), a high-resolution land-use model, as well as to a report on the financial valuations of this type of building throughout Spain. Using dasymetric disaggregation processes and GIS techniques we developed a geolocalized method of obtaining this information, which was the exposure variable in the general risk assessment formula. Then, with the application over a hazard map, the risk value can be easily obtained. An example of its application is given in a case study that assesses the risk of a landslide in the entire 23 200 km2 of the Valencia Autonomous Community (NUT2), the results of which are analysed by municipal areas (LAU2) for the years 2005 and 2009.

AbstractPolycrystalline Galfenol (Fe-Ga-X, X=Al, C, Zr etc.) alloys were fabricated as a bulk sample from ark-melted and annealing process method for enhancing various engineering applicability. (Fe-Ga0.15-Al0.05)99.0-Zr0.5-C0.5 [at.%] sample showed a maximum magnetostriction of 134 ppm as well as a tensile stress over σ=800MPa. This large magnetostriction is caused by A2 phases without the excessive precipitation of ordered phases such as fcc ordered L12 and bcc ordered D03 phases. Secondarily, we will introduce an application as a smart torque sensor by utilizing Galfenol-ring around the steering shaft for steering-by-wire system of automobile. In this system, a torque sensing system by using the magnetostrictive ring of FeGa (Galfenol) alloy was developed and magnetic flux leaked from the Galfenol ring attached on the rotating shaft was experimentally measured by using two differential Hall probe sensor. As a result, the sensitivity in (Fe0.80Ga0.15Al0.05)99Zr0.5C0.5 ring increased by 2.9 times in comparison with the (Fe0.80Ga0.15Al0.05)98.5C1.5 alloy at rotations speed 500 rpm.

The article is devoted to maintenance of safe access to the web interface of the geoinformation modeling system with an information database on seismicity and seismic risks. With the development of high technologies, various geoinformation systems were widely used to collect, store, analyze and graphically visualize spatial data and associated information about the objects represented in GIS objects. A map of the geological-engineering zoning of the territory of the Vladikavkazcity, covering geological structure, hydrogeological conditions, lithology, morphology, tectonics, distribution of various types of soils in the territory under consideration, was created in the Geophysical Institute. This map is integrated into the geoinformation system. When creating such systems, it is necessary to take into account the fact that if for a geoinformation system a web service accessis realized, then it must have means for user authentication and support of basic encryption algorithms to protect against unauthorized use of this system. On the basis of open source software, the communication channel with the geoinformation system is protected from unauthorized access.

A landslide inventory serves as the basis for assessing landslide susceptibility, hazard, and risk. It is generally prepared from optical imagery acquired from spaceborne or airborne platforms, in which shadows are inevitably found in mountainous areas. The influences of shadow inventory on a landslide susceptibility model (LSM), however, have not been investigated systematically. This paper employs both the shadow and landslide inventories prepared from eleven Formosat-2 annual images from the I-Lan area in Taiwan acquired from 2005 to 2016, using a semiautomatic expert system. A standard LSM based on the geometric mean of multivariables was used to evaluate the possible errors incurred by neglecting the shadow inventory. The results show that the LSM performance was significantly improved by 49.21% for the top 1% of the most highly susceptible area and that the performance decreased gradually by 15.25% for the top 10% most highly susceptible areas and 9.71% for the top 20% most highly susceptible areas. Excluding the shadow inventory from the calculation of landslide susceptibility index reveals the real contribution of each factor. They are crucial in optimizing the coefficients of a nondeterministic geometric mean LSM, as well as in deriving the threshold of a landslide hazard early warning system.

Landslides are a very dangerous threat to the roads. Good management is required to prevent the problems occurring from extensive possible landslides. This is because the number of potential landslide points on the National roads are numerous. Maintenance and prevention are crucial to keep these disasters from occurring. Therefore these need to be a priority. The locations in question are: The National Road in the Provence of North Sumatra, the area of Satker PJN Ill (Satuan Kerja Pelaksanaan Jalan Nasional III) and The Satker PJN IV (Satuan Kerja Pelaksanaan Jalan Nasional IV). There are 26 roads in the Satker PJN III and IV areas with 34 that have occurred. The method that is used in this study is the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process). Method using two stages: The first stage is to analyze the level of landslide hazard on the road. The second stage is to determine the priority level for the handling of each landslide point for each section of the road. The parameters used determining the level of landslide hazard are: Soil, slope, landcover, rainfall, subgrade and drainage conditions, at the same time as using the landslide hazard perimeters, landslide dimensions, slope engineering and every day traffic
