Быстрые изменения и совершенствование технологий произвели революцию в современном мире. Взаимодействие человека и компьютера (HCI) развивалось в течение определенного периода, трансформируя многие аспекты нашей жизни, включая то, как мы учимся. В настоящее время студенты могут извлечь выгоду из быстрого обмена информацией, доступности в Интернете и практической реализации того, что ранее преподавалось только в книгах. Опыт обучения и компетентность зависят от того, насколько хорошо предмет преподается студентам и через какую среду. Книги и текстовые ресурсы со временем зарекомендовали себя как отличный способ доставки и использовались на протяжении веков. Аудио-и видеоматериалы также оказались эффективным способом доставки информации, поскольку они обеспечивают хорошее количество богатого контента за относительно короткий период, что привело к повышению мотивации учащихся в классе и изменению восприятия преподавателей. Однако отсутствие погружения и контроля делает обучение на основе видео менее личным, чем интерактивные классы и моделирование реальной жизни. Видеонаблюдение с помощью видеоаналитики может быть развернуто для мониторинга территорий в определенное время суток. Например, как только школа открывается, не должно быть много активности на парковке или в определенных местах вокруг школы. В таких ситуациях интеллектуальные камеры с видеоаналитикой могут использоваться для обнаружения активности в тех областях, которые представляют интерес, чтобы предупредить службу безопасности школы о том, что что-то может потребовать их внимания. Rapid changes and improvements in technology have revolutionized the modern world. Human-computer Interaction (HCI) has evolved over a period of time, transforming many aspects of our lives, how we learn. Currently, students can benefit from the rapid exchange of information, accessibility on the Internet, and practical implementation of what was previously taught only in books. Learning experience and competence depend on how well the subject is taught to students and through what medium. Books and text resources have proven to be a great delivery method over time and have been used for centuries. Audio and video materials have also proven to be an effective way to deliver information, as they provide a good amount of rich content in a relatively short period, which has led to increased motivation of students in the classroom and a change in the perception of teachers. However, the lack of immersion and control makes video-based learning less personal than interactive classes and real-life simulations. Video surveillance using video analytics can be deployed to monitor territories at certain times of the day. For example, once a school opens, there shouldn't be a lot of activity in the parking lot or in certain places around the school. In such situations, smart cameras with video analytics can be used to detect activity in areas of interest, to warn the school security service that something may require their attention. Radar detection is ideal for perimeters, where the device can be unobtrusively configured to alert when someone enters a certain area.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to present and discuss information accessibility in today’s world alongside the accompanying demise of corporate invisibility. This is an ever-present communications reality for businesses and consumers in the twenty-first century. Design/methodology/approach – This paper reviews the relevant extant literature relating to economic, social and technological developments and their impact on the post-modern world of marketing communications. It discusses the rip tides of change that impact on that world. Discussion focuses on the changing global environment as a backdrop to observing new trends in the marketplace underpinned by an information explosion. Consumer typologies and their significance are considered generationally in terms of X, Y and Z and explored in the context of postmodernism. Findings – The pace of change in marketplaces and market-spaces everywhere is continuous and accelerating. Inexorably – and perhaps inevitably – marketing communications are changing shape, metamorphosing into new configurations and forms as a result of underlying technological changes and in the face of ongoing recessionary influences. For the first time in history, people are exerting more influence and control over marketing processes. Medias are moving in tandem with the technological drivers, implying that managers, brands and companies should all be proactive in taking advantage of the changing times. Practical implications – Different communications are needed for different markets, but always based on a sound understanding of the dynamics of the markets they address. Not only is an understanding of the needs and wants of different generations important, but also the different economic, social and cultural settings in which consumption takes place. Social implications – Constant technological change is here to stay and has consequences for the ways companies design and implement marketing communications. Originality/value – This paper is original in its assessment of the problems of creating effective marketing communication and in highlighting the issues facing companies in today’s post-modern world. Using generational types presents an interesting way of examining and addressing different markets with different needs.

Post-column energy-filtered transmission electron microscopy (EFTEM) is inherently challenging as it requires the researcher to setup, align, and control both the microscope and the energy-filter. The software behind an EFTEM system is therefore critical to efficient, day-to-day application of this technique. This is particularly the case in a multiple-user environment such as at the Shared Research Equipment (SHaRE) User Facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Here, visiting researchers, who may oe unfamiliar with the details of EFTEM, need to accomplish as much as possible in a relatively short period of time.We describe here our work in extending the base software of a commercially available EFTEM system in order to automate and streamline particular EFTEM tasks. The EFTEM system used is a Philips CM30 fitted with a Gatan Imaging Filter (GIF). The base software supplied with this system consists primarily of two Macintosh programs and a collection of add-ons (plug-ins) which provide instrument control, imaging, and data analysis facilities needed to perform EFTEM.

Supplementary estrogen plays important roles for female patients as convenient birth control, relief of postmenopausal symptoms, and in the management of other selected problems. However, as is the case for essentially all medications, there are side effects. Short of a major pulmonary embolus, the most severe side effect of estrogen would appear to be sporadic, rare, and severe hypertriglyceridemia associated with acute pancreatitis. The occurrence of this fortunately rare problem usually happens in the presence of some preexisting and usually mild increase in triglycerides (TG). A case of chronic and severe recurrent acute pancreatitis is described in the introduction and the management was complete estrogen avoidance. Started close to menopause and continued for a relatively short period, estrogens may have some cardiovascular (CV) benefit but the general recommendation is not to prescribe them for CV disease prevention. Estrogens may contribute to decreased diabetes mellitus (DM) risk and control. Administration of estrogens by the transdermal route may decrease some problems such as venous thromboembolism (VTE) and elevation of TG. Administration of estrogen in the right situation brings significant benefit to the female patient but skillful, careful, and knowledgeable use is essential.

Aims: To evaluate the real-life effect of photocatalytic surfaces on the air quality at two test-sites in Denmark. Background: Poor air quality is today one of the largest environmental issues, due to the adverse effects on human health associated with high levels of air pollution, including respiratory issues, cardiovascular disease (CVD), and lung cancer. NOx removal by TiO2 based photocatalysis is a tool to improve air quality locally in areas where people are exposed. Methods: Two test sites were constructed in Roskilde and Copenhage airport. In Roskilde, the existing asphalt at two parking lots was treated with TiO2 containing liquid and an in-situ ISO 22197-1 test setup was developed to enable in-situ evaluation of the activity of the asphalt. In CPH airport, photocatalytic concrete tiles were installed at the "kiss and fly" parking lot, and NOx levels were continuously monitored in 0.5 m by CLD at the active site and a comparable reference site before and after installation for a period of 2 years. Results: The Roskilde showed high stability of the photocatalytic coating with the activity being largely unchanged over a period of 2 years. The CPH airport study showed that the average NOx levels were decreased by 12 % comparing the before and after NOx concentrations at the active and reference site. Conclusion: The joined results of the two Danish demonstration projects illustrate a high stability of the photocatalytic coating as well as a high potential for improvements of the real-life air quality in polluted areas.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are increasingly being used in many challenging and diversified applications. These applications belong to the civilian and the military fields. To name a few; infrastructure inspection, traffic patrolling, remote sensing, mapping, surveillance, rescuing humans and animals, environment monitoring, and Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) operations. However, the use of UAVs in these applications needs a substantial level of autonomy. In other words, UAVs should have the ability to accomplish planned missions in unexpected situations without requiring human intervention. To ensure this level of autonomy, many artificial intelligence algorithms were designed. These algorithms targeted the guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) of UAVs. In this paper, we described the state of the art of one subset of these algorithms: the deep reinforcement learning (DRL) techniques. We made a detailed description of them, and we deduced the current limitations in this area. We noted that most of these DRL methods were designed to ensure stable and smooth UAV navigation by training computer-simulated environments. We realized that further research efforts are needed to address the challenges that restrain their deployment in real-life scenarios.

AbstractBeginning on December 31, 2019, the large-scale novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) emerged in China. Tracking and analysing the heterogeneity and effectiveness of cities’ prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic is essential to design and adjust epidemic prevention and control measures. The number of newly confirmed cases in 25 of China’s most-affected cities for the COVID-19 epidemic from January 11 to February 10 was collected. The heterogeneity and effectiveness of these 25 cities’ prevention and control measures for COVID-19 were analysed by using an estimated time-varying reproduction number method and a serial correlation method. The results showed that the effective reproduction number (R) in 25 cities showed a downward trend overall, but there was a significant difference in the R change trends among cities, indicating that there was heterogeneity in the spread and control of COVID-19 in cities. Moreover, the COVID-19 control in 21 of 25 cities was effective, and the risk of infection decreased because their R had dropped below 1 by February 10, 2020. In contrast, the cities of Wuhan, Tianmen, Ezhou and Enshi still had difficulty effectively controlling the COVID-19 epidemic in a short period of time because their R was greater than 1.

The explosive growth of the number of applications based on networked virtual environment technology, both games and virtual communities, shows that these types of applications have become commonplace in a short period of time. However, from a research point of view, the inherent weaknesses in their architectures are quickly exposed. The Architecture for Large-Scale Virtual Interactive Communities (ALVICs) was originally developed to serve as a generic framework to deploy networked virtual environment applications on the Internet. While it has been shown to effectively scale to the numbers originally put forward, our findings have shown that, on a real-life network, such as the Internet, several drawbacks will not be overcome in the near future. It is, therefore, that we have recently started with the development of ALVIC-NG, which, while incorporating the findings from our previous research, makes several improvements on the original version, making it suitable for deployment on the Internet as it exists today.

The development of the smart building concept and building automation field is based on the exponential evolution of monitoring and control technologies. Residents of the smart building must interact with the monitoring and control system. A widely used method is specific applications executed on smartphones, tablets, and PCs with Bluetooth connection to the building control system. At this time, smartphones are increasingly used in everyday life for payments, reading newspapers, monitoring activity, and interacting with smart homes. The devices used to build the control system are interconnected through a specific network, one of the most widespread being the Building Automation and Control Network (BACnet) network. Here, we propose the use of the BACnet Application Layer over Bluetooth. We present a proposal of a concept and a practical implementation that can be used to test and validate the operation of the BACnet Application Layer over Bluetooth.

The dynamic development of the modern world requires the processing and development of a large enough amount of information in a short period of time, which leads to a violation of the psychophysiological and psycho-emotional balance of the person. Violation of the psycho-emotional state leads to the development of increased anxiety. Students need to learn a lot of information in a very short time. The time limit affects students as a stress factor, leads to increased stress and therefore negatively affects the quality of work and in general on the whole body. The aim of the study is to determine the success of cognitive tasks by students of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University with different levels of anxiety in different time conditions. The study used a psychophysiological testing device to determine the level of situational and personal anxiety, to assess the psycho-emotional state used the technique of simple visual-motor reaction, to determine the success of the cognitive task were presented words with one missing letter.
