Nowadays political reality is characterized by instability, the tendency of traditional state structures to collapse and the emergence of new interstate associations. The analysis of current political events taking place in them belongs to the professional activities of political scientists. As it is impossible to find a modern country which could develop beyond the formation of world civilization, there is no doubt that political scientists of different nationalities should communicate in the global English language. It follows from the above that it is necessary to train qualified specialists in this field of knowledge who could fulfil their professional duties by means of English. However, the existing methods of teaching English-language professional speech to the future political scientists do not provide students with the mentioned skills. In this regard, the purpose of the suggested article is to work out theoretical bases for training future political scientists in profession-oriented activity in English. The development of the above-mentioned skills is possible on the basis of the procedural integration of the English language and political science, where the links of these two different subjects are coordinated. A specific feature of the procedural integration is the manifestation of educational and professional foreign language skills alongside with foreign language professional skills in the profession-centred (field-centred) process. Thus, it is necessary to develop two integrated competences: the professional and foreign language speaking ones. For their development, the professional subject of the course of political science and the corresponding vocabulary necessary for the expression of its content have been determined. Integrated training of future political scientists in analysing current events in English includes the stages as follows: familiarization, language-oriented, training in speaking, and profession-centred. Keywords: professional activity, integrated training, future political scientists, procedural integration, professional competence, foreign language speech competence.

The article is devoted to the issues of learning English by students of bachelor’s specialty “Tourism” and «Hotel and restaurant business». Since foreign language proficiency is one of the main competencies for a student of this specialty, the question of the methodology of its study is extremely relevant. In this article the specifics of the ‘Awesome Ukraine’ English guide-book is being researched. In English-speaking guides the specifics of the target audience should be carefully taken into consideration, since not all tourists are fluent in English as a foreign language. Therefore, for students of ‘Tourism” and “Hotel and restaurant business” specialties referring to an English-language guide-book would be of a valuable assistance in methodological and linguistic aspects. Students will not only assimilate information about a certain monument or location, but will also adopt the proper way to present facts, assimilate necessary language patterns, and learn to apply them in practice. The publication makes an editorial, linguistic and methodological analysis of the ‘AWESOME UKRAINE’ series. These seven publications tell foreigners about Ukraine, it’s most attractive and interesting locations, present one of the most respected IT centers. All of that can be used during lectures and practical classes for various English-language disciplines as didactic material. Text content in all editions is laconic; the material is described in simple and accessible English. One article about a certain monument or location occupies one-page spread, which is convenient for perception. Each topic material is illustrated with a thematic photo. The series is competently created, has a thoroughly thought-out concept for the embodiment of the text and illustrative material. The article demonstrates that the capabilities of a modern guide-book are able to perform not only informative but also a communicative function of a mediator in intercultural communication. Thanks to this fact, it becomes possible to effectively use this potential in the formation of basic competences and skills to productively implement professional activities for future professionals in tourism and hospitality industry.

A brand could be named as the marketing goal of any organization, including the educational one. The issue of brand in education is becoming more and more actual, but the current focus of the scientifc community has remained mainly on branding higher education, while non-formal adult education organizations on this issue have been largely ignored. Therefore, we conducted research to determine whether users of non-formal education organizations perceive the educational service provider as a brand, as well as to identify which activities are carried out by non-formal education organizations to reach this level of connection with their users. The research used a combination of quantitative-qualitative research paradigm, with a multiple case study as a research model and a descriptive method as the dominant one. The research sample consists of managers and students of the analyzed foreign language schools. The results of the research indicate that non-formal education organizations in Serbia follow world trends and make efforts to achieve the status of an educational brand, that branding is not a uniform process, and that each organization and their strategies have certain specifcs.

Active European integration processes in the state, education and business determine relevance of the study. They pay special attention to the discipline «Foreign language for specific purposes» in the training of agricultural specialists. The purpose of this study is to consider the scientific and methodical aspects of formation of readiness for German-language professionally oriented communication among future agriculturists. Theoretical (analysis, systematization, generalization, modeling) and empirical methods were used to achieve this goal. They allowed to analyze the latest scientific research in the field of foreign language training, problems of readiness for foreign language communication, features of foreign language professionally oriented communication of agro-industrial enterprises` specialists. The analysis of the professional requirements for future farmers, scientific approaches to interpretation of the concept «readiness», modern concepts of foreign language teaching methods gave grounds to specify the concept of readiness for German-speaking professionally oriented communication of agriculturists, which is seen as the competence to use acquired knowledge, ability and skills for successful German-speaking professionally oriented communication. Analysis of the national experience of foreign language training of agricultural sector specialists shows that the main purpose of foreign languages studying in higher educational establishments is the training a specialist who can use the German language as a tool of professional activity and professional knowledge. In order to achieve this goal it is necessary to develop the linguistic, social-cultural, educational and professional components of German-speaking professionally oriented communicative competence. Communication is an integral part of the professional activities of specialists. It is based on general social and psychological patterns and focuses on the successful and effective implementation of professional duties, and includes the exchange of proposals, requirements, views, motives to solve specific problems, sign agreements or establish other relations between the subjects of joint activities. German-language professionally oriented communication has its linguistic features, namely: lexical (terms, scientific and technical phraseology, professionalism, jargon, abbreviations and acronyms), grammatical (nominal style, modal verbs, passive voice, sentence length) and stylistic (metaphor, comparison and epithets). According to the fundamental bases of foreign language training the model of formation of readiness for German-language professionally oriented communication among future agriculturists is proposed, based on the peculiarities of teaching foreign languages in agricultural universities and the specificity of professionally oriented communication of specialists in the agricultural sector. It consists of the following blocks: motivational-target, theoretical-methodological, content-technological and productive-estimated. The effectiveness of the model depends on such factors as: the organization of the appropriate language environment, modeling of professional situations in the classroom and increase motivation for professionally oriented communication. The results of the study are to determine the place of formation of readiness for foreign language communication in the professional education of future farmers, to determine the linguistic features of German-language communication of agronomists, to substantiate the organizational and pedagogical conditions of German-language training and create an appropriate model. The formation of readiness for professionally oriented communication in a foreign language is a systematic, long-term process that involves the development of traditional professional ideas, professional thinking and professional behavior.

In the huge and most diverse discussion on the influence of the English language as a second, international, or bridge language, there are distinctive voices drawing attention to the fact that this language as nowadays so widely used in innumerable contexts, is no longer ‘owned’ by the community of speakers to whom it is mother language, those primarily of the countries from where English language originates. Moreover, the number of people speaking, or rather using English language today either as their second or foreign language, by far outnumbers people to whom it is native. Situation being such, it is further claimed the concept of ‘standard English’ reflects inherent inequality stance, for if it belongs to everyone speaking it, then insisting on the supremacy on only one of its variants means placing all those speakers of it in a subdued position, and this possibly being yet another facet of English an agent of neocolonialism and globalization (Pennycook 1998, Phillipson 1992). The spread of the English language has been much investigated as oppressive to the formation and expression of personal and collective identities, degrading national languages and through globalization diminishing the impact of local cultures (Bhaba 1990), that it challenges cultures and discourses, being the impetus for continuous re-codification and re-colonisation (Foucault 1980). However, equally significant in relevance and number, the opposing views claim English today offers an expanded community of users enabling new ways of expressing, changing, negotiating voices that offer chances for cultural renewal and exchange around the world, that the awareness of this brings “decolonizing of the colonizers mind” (Penycook 2013). Taking the flip side of the situation, English language natives are noted to be in a paradoxical situation of being expatriates from their own language, themselves “co-victims” (Bratlinger 1990). This insurgent knowledge of the status of English language today is certainly to instigate further investigation, ‘writing back’ of what ontology this language now embodies.

The article analyzes modern methods of teaching a foreign language and justifies the expediency of their use in technical institutions of higher education. The process of teaching English in non-linguistic higher educational institutions has certain features related to the different initial level of language training of first-year students; the number of academic hours allocated to the study of this discipline; the quantitative composition of groups; low motivation to learn a foreign language. It is noted that motivation plays an important role in the educational process, the formation of which among students of technical universities should be one of the main tasks of the educational process. It is established that it is possible to significantly increase the effectiveness of the lesson provided that the content of the discipline "foreign language" is professionally oriented in technical universities. It is found that the use of interactive learning technologies involves the use of communicative, in particular cognitive-communicative, and constructivist methods of teaching a foreign language. It is proved that the use of innovative approaches to teaching English and multimedia teaching tools allows students to increase motivation to learn foreign languages, provide access to new, alternative sources of information, develop independent mental activity, form communication skills, cultural and professional competence.
