The study aims to reveal the relationship of parental acceptance/ rejection by the (father- mother) as perceived by the children and the disorder of Alexithymia among a sample of adolescents with an Autism spectrum, with some demographic variables (gender- economic and social level- the work of the mother). Depending on the descriptive analytical approach The sample of the study consisted of (40) male and female adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Their ages ranged between (15: less than 19 years). A measure of parental acceptance and rejection (the mother-father version) was applied to them (was translated into Arabic by Mamdouha Salama, 2011), Toranto Scale of Alexithymia (translated into Arabic by Aladdin Kafafi- Fouad Al-Dawash 2011), and The Economic and Social Level List prepared (Razan Kurdi, 2012), was applied on the sample of study. The results indicated that a statistically significant correlation between parental acceptance- rejections by the (father-mother), as perceived by the children and between their alexithymia. The results also indicated there are differences between parents in the awareness of children of the acceptance and parental refusal in the direction of the mothers. The results also indicated Parental acceptance and rejection (the image of the mother) differed according to some demographic variables (gender in the direction of males- economic and social level in the direction of the high level- mother's work in the direction of non-working mothers). The results also indicated that Parental acceptance and rejection (the image of the father) differed according to some demographic variables (gender in the direction of female- economic and social level in the direction of the high level). Alexithymia also differed according to some demographic variables (gender in the direction of males- economic and social level in the direction of high level- mother's work in the direction of non-working mothers).

Abstract The aim of this project was to evaluate the relationship of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) genetic variation and its serum concentration with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). One hundred ASD and 120 controls were enrolled in this study. Genomic DNA was extracted from blood and MMP-9 polymorphism was determined by polymerase chain reaction restriction fragment length polymorphism and serum levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The frequencies of CC, CT, and TT genotypes were 72%, 26%, and 2% in controls and 31%, 57%, and 12% in ASD, respectively. The frequencies of C and T alleles in ASD were 59.5% and 40.5%, and controls were 86% and 14%, respectively. There is a significant increase in serum MMP-9 levels in ASD as compared to controls. We have also shown that TT genotype is significantly associated with increase serum MMP-9 levels in patients (TT, CT, and CC serum levels were 91.77 ± 10.53, 70.66 ± 7.21, and 38.66 ± 5.52 and in controls were 55.55 ± 11.39, 42.66 ± 7.85, and 30.55 ± 6.34 ng/ml, respectively). It is concluded that there is a significant association between rs3918242 MMP-9 polymorphism and its serum concentration with autism. We also suggest that TT genotype is associated with increased MMP9 expression and may be a risk factor for ASD.

Abstract Stabilizing certified nursing assistant (CNA) employment is necessary for maintaining care networks and providing high quality of care for nursing home (NH) residents. This study’s objective was to examine the relationship of high wages and empowerment practices on CNA retention. We used the 2015 Ohio Biennial Survey to construct a facility-level dataset of 547 NHs and estimated multivariable linear regressions. NHs that provided both high wages and high empowerment were associated with a 12.95 percentage-point improvement in the CNA retention rate (SE = 4.53, t-value = 2.86, p = 0.0045). High wages and a high empowerment score did not have significant effects individually (p > .05). Retention rates were similar between NHs that lacked high wages and scored low on the empowerment scale, and NHs that provided one at a high level but not the other. Implications for better retaining CNAs require multiple empowerment practices combined with high hourly wages.

Risk management in campus recreational sports has been a consideration on the minds of campus recreational sport directors for over the past three decades. But are directors' concerns aligned with the litigation being decided in the courtroom? This study examined whether or not campus recreation directors were concerned about the same legal and risk management issues that appeared most frequently in published court decisions. A case law analysis revealed that 54 cases were related to campus recreation over the past 30 years. To determine risk perceptions of campus recreation directors, a Web survey identifying 34 risk issues was administered. The findings showed the relationship of perceptions of directors to published cases and the risk management formula, as well as differences in perceptions based on demographic variables. The results identified several opportunities for discussion and new areas for research.

This 1-year-long study investigated the use of isolation timeout as a behavioral control intervention in a special educational facility. Subjects were 156 students with emotional disturbance. The relationship of timeout to demographic variables was examined for a subsample of 73 students. Results indicate that 13,000 separate timeouts occurred over the academic year. Average time in isolation was 23 hr per student. Older students in more restrictive placements were found to spend significantly more time in isolation than were other groups, though much of this difference was due to voluntary timeouts. Alternatives to timeout as a behavior control measure are discussed.

Choosing rational design parameters of the coupling device for multi-section aggregation of seeders, it is possible to ensure full loading of the power unit while maintaining quality indicators of the technological process at a sufficiently high level. Foreign aggregates are not suitable for use in the Russian Federation due to the different soil and climatic conditions. Purpose of the study: to develop an effective device for multi-section aggregation suitable for domestic modern seeding machines. Subject of the research: the relationship of design parameters and modes of operation of the device for multi-section aggregation of seeders with indicators of the technological process of sowing. A monographic survey of known structures has been carried out, a device for multi-section aggregation of seeding machines has been substantiated by the design and construction method, indicators of the technological process of sowing have been experimentally obtained. The developed coupling device for multi-section aggregation consists of a central frame resting on the wheels and articulated side sections: left and right, which fold when transporting the seeding unit. The total working width of the seeding unit is up to 12.5 meters. According to the research results, the quality of the technological process by the seeding devices meets the regulatory requirements. The instability of the total seeding (0.6–1.1 % for barley and 0.4–0.7 % for wheat) is within the tolerance (up to 3 percent); uneven seeding between devices 3.9–4.2 percent (barley) and 2.6–4.2 percent (wheat) corresponds to the norm (up to 5 percent). The number of seeds embedded at a predetermined depth of the soil corresponds to the required (not less than 80 percent) and was 81.8–83.9 percent for barley and 80.1–83.3 percent for wheat. Not embedded seeds were found in the soil.
