ABSTRACT: Stroke is a big health problem in all industrial nations. In Indonesia, the prevalence of stroke keeps on increasing with each passing year. In addition to physical complaints suffered, sexual function may affect the patient’s. Erectile dysfunction is a problem that often arises in stroke patients. Purpose: This research is aimed in understanding describe of erectile dysfunction and the relationship between the risk factor namely diabetes mellitus and hypertension among stroke patients. Methods: The research method used is analytic descriptive with cross sectional approach. The study subjects were 40 men stroke patients, recruited by consecutive sampling in Polyclinic Neurology RSUP Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado during the period of November to December 2013. The measurement of erectile dysfunction used International Index of Erectile function/IIEF-5. Conclusion: Stroke patients who experience erectile dysfunction by 85%, with the highest amount on mild erectile dysfunction and mild to moderate erectile dysfunction at  35% dan 32,5%. Age most experienced erectile dysfunction are in the age group 35-44 years and >75 years. Low levels of education may suffer from erectile dysfunction is higher than the high education level. And the insiden of erectile dysfunction among stroke patients having risk factor of diabetes mellitus were higher than haven’t (OR=2,391). While hypertension risk factors correlated with a reduced risk of disease (OR=0,771). Aim. To assess the relationship of the anthropometric parameters of girls with the development of vulvovaginitis and the duration of breastfeeding. Materials and methods. To achieve this goal, 175 prepubertal girls at the age of 3-6 years, 73 girls with vulvovaginitis (main group) and 102 girls examined at a routine preventive examination in a children’s polyclinic without symptoms or signs of vulvovaginitis were examined, constituted a comparison group. When analyzing the anthropometric data of girls, we used the centile tables of M. Dementyev and B. I. Ilyina. Patients with a history of suspected sexual abuse or suspected vaginal foreign body were excluded from the study. Legal representatives of the subjects were informed about the purpose of the study and gave written informed voluntary consent. As part of a survey of the child’s legal representatives and copying data from outpatient cards, information was obtained about the mother’s obstetric and gynecological history, the child’s height and weight at birth, and the child’s height and weight at the time of the examination was assessed. Evaluation of the nature of feeding was carried out in 174 girls (1 girl was adopted). The processing of statistical data and the establishment of statistical significance was carried out using the chi-square test. Differences with a significance level of P < 0.05 were considered statistically significant. The method of multiple logistic regression was used to establish the influence of the child’s anthropometric data on the likelihood of vulvovaginitis and the relationship with the presence and duration of lactation. Results. There is a relationship between the anthropometric data of girls at birth and at the age of 3 to 6 years and the development of vulvovaginitis. In the group with vulvovaginitis, girls with a weight-growth coefficient at birth less than 3 centile (p = 0.044) were less common, and vulvovaginitis developed 2.79 times more often (95% CI: 1.2-6.53) in girls with overweight and obesity between the ages of 3 and 6. There is no relationship between the anthropometric data of the child, the presence and duration of breastfeeding. Conclusion. It was established that there is a relationship between the anthropometric data of girls at birth and at the age of 3-6 years and the development of vulvovaginitis. In the group with vulvovaginitis, girls with a weight-growth coefficient at birth less than 3 centile (p = 0.044) were less common, and vulvovaginitis developed 2.79 times more often in girls with overweight and obesity at the age of 3-6 years (95% CI: 1.2-6.53). There is no relationship between the anthropometric data of the child, the presence and duration of breastfeeding.

Cardiovascular disease is a common phenomenon, just like obesity, arterial hypertension and diabetes. Those diseases negatively affect all spheres of our life, including our sex life. The best known currently is the relationship between the occurrence of erectile dysfunction and diseases of the cardiovascular system. Erectile dysfunction may not only be a late consequence cardiovascular diseases, but also their early revelator. However, they can also be a side effect of some cardiac medications. Cardiosexology deals with these issues. Perhaps, however, an even more important issue is the safety of treating erectile dysfunction in patients with cardiovascular diseases.

CONTEXT AND OBJECTIVE: Erectile dysfunction has been associated with cardiovascular diseases. The aim here was to evaluate cardiovascular risk through the Framingham Risk Score (FRS) criteria, C-reactive protein (CRP) assays and presence of metabolic syndrome (MS) in men with and without erectile dysfunction diagnosed within a healthcare program. DESIGN AND SETTING: A retrospective case-control study was conducted. The patients were selected from a healthcare program at the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, between January and December 2007. METHODS: 222 men were retrospectively selected, and they were divided into two groups: men with erectile dysfunction (n = 111) and men without erectile dysfunction (n = 111). The patients were stratified according to the International Index of Erectile Function-Erectile Function domain (IIEF-EF domain). CRP and FRS were analyzed and the two groups were compared. RESULTS: The CRP levels were significantly higher among men with erectile dysfunction (P = 0.04). Patients with erectile dysfunction also had high FRS (P = 0.0015). CRP and FRS did not correlate with the severity of erectile dysfunction. The presence of metabolic syndrome was greater among men with erectile dysfunction (P < 0.05). The severity of erectile dysfunction was directly associated with metabolic syndrome. CONCLUSION: Men with erectile dysfunction presented higher cardiovascular risk according to the FRS criteria and CRP measurements. Severe erectile dysfunction seemed to have a correlation with metabolic syndrome.

Objectives - to study the severity of androgen deficiency and erectile dysfunction in patients with vibration disease and in its combination with arterial hypertension. Material and methods. 145 male patients with various forms of vibration disease were thoroughly examined. The following groups were defined - I stage and II stage vibration disease induced by local vibration; II stage, induced by local vibration with concurrent arterial hypertension; I and II stage vibration disease induced by whole body vibration; II stage vibration disease induced by whole body vibration with concurrent arterial hypertension. The control group included 30 patients. Evaluation of erectile function in men with vibration disease and its combination with arterial hypertension was carried out using the scale of severity of erectile dysfunction (International Index of Erectile Function, IIEF-5). The questionnaire for detection of androgen deficiency (Dedov II, Kalinchenko SYu, 2006) and the AMS (aging males' symptoms) questionnaire assisted in revealing the symptoms of aging in men. Results. According to the IIEF-5 questionnaire results the erectile dysfunction was defined in patients with vibration disease, most pronounced in II stage of vibration disease induced by whole body vibration and in vibration disease of any etiology with concurrent arterial hypertension. AMS-questionnaire presented the most expressed signs of androgen deficiency in patients with II stage of vibration disease induced by whole body vibration and in vibration disease of any etiology with concurrent arterial hypertension (p
