The aim of the study is to access the types of arch tracing achieved using tracer in a prosthetic system (BPS). Assessing the relation plays an important role in the fabrication of complete denture. Gothic arch tracing is one of the methods used to achieve relation in complete denture patients. The types of the arrow forms include the classical pointed form, classical flat form, weak form, asymmetrical form, miniature form, vertical line extending beyond the arrow point. The variations in achieving arrow tracing for a complete denture patient depends on mandibular movements. Data collection was done from DIAS (dental hospital management system) which is an electronic record management system and details such as , types of arrow point achieved and type of tracer used was obtained and tabulated. Further the data were by statistical tests (chi-square analysis) using SPSS software (write the version). The typical arrow point tracing was common in both sexes. Females show more variation in tracing arrow types of tracing were more commonly seen in females. The chi-square analysis reveals an insight value of p> 0.005. The typical arrow point tracing form is seen in both males and females. Other forms like atypical, double arrow are commonly seen in females and only miniature forms are seen in males.

Apthous stomatitis represents one of the most common ulcerations occurring in the oral cavity. This ulcer has an exclusive predilection of affecting the non-keratinized mucosa only. The aim of this study was to assess the prevalence of smoking in patients with apthous stomatitis. Seventy-six patients with recurrent apthous stomatitis attending Saveetha Dental Hospital, Chennai were included in the study. The data gathered was entered into an excel table, and the data analysis was done in SPSS. The data analysis revealed that the mean age of the collected samples of 76 patients was 32.21 years, and 67.1% of the samples were males. Analyzing the clinical variants, 70 patients had minor apthous stomatitis, five patients had major apthous stomatitis, and one patient had herpetiform apthous stomatitis. Results showed that patients who are not smokers have a higher rate of recurrence of recurrent apthous stomatitis compared to patients who are smokers with 6.6% being the prevalence rate for smokers and 93.4% being the prevalence rate for non-smokers. Data analysis was done using a chi-square analysis between the clinical variants of recurrent apthous stomatitis and smoking habits (chi-square-1.132; df-2; p-0.05) we found the results were statistically significant (P=0.05) which implies there were less self-reported diabetics in this study Prevalence of smoking in patients with recurrent apthous stomatitis is significantly lower than patients who are not smokers. The reason for the decreased occurrence of apthous stomatitis in smokers may be due to the increased keratinization of the mucosa.

The problem of getting per chance significant differences in case—control studies mostly arises when using a long questionnaire or when comparing a large number of characteristics. The number of chance significances increases with the number of statistical tests carried out. Chance significance is demonstrated on a set of empirically collected data divided into two nonsense groups. The variation of chance significances is shown in several random samples from this data set. Chi square analysis of 2 × 2 contingency tables and stepwise discriminant analysis are applied. Suggestions for avoiding chance significances are made. Attention is called to the hazards of stepwise discriminant analysis.

Tuberculosis (TB) prevalence in Indonesia occupies the 2nd position globally; therefore, it is necessary to prevent TB transmission, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in high-risk individuals. This study aims to determine the relationship between nurses' knowledge and behavior in using PPE to prevent TB transmission in hospitals. This study used a cross-sectional design, with the research subjects of all nurses in the isolation room and the TB polyclinic in a private hospital (X) in Yogyakarta. The study was attended by 38 nurses, with a total sampling technique. Data were obtained using a questionnaire. The data analysis employed descriptive statistical tests and chi-square. This study’s results indicated that most nurses had good knowledge (31 people; 81.6%) and good behavior (32 people; 84.2%). Chi-square analysis revealed a significant relationship between knowledge and nurses' behavior in using PPE (p = 0.000). It was concluded that there was a significant relationship between knowledge and nurses' behavior in using PPE in the TB ward and polyclinic at Hospital X.

Background: Research on scabies in boarding schools has been widely carried out, however, the nature of transmission has not yet been analyzed. The transmission can occur due to the risk of direct contact when using shared beds. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the risk of bed usage in the event of a scabies infection in boarding schools. Methods: This study adopted a case-control design method. The independent variable was the use of beds, including using a shared bed and using one's own bed. The dependent variable was scabies, which was determined on the basis of the diagnostic criteria set for scabies. The sample size was 60 students, who had lived for at least four weeks in boarding schools. The sample comprised two groups: the group that used a shared bed (30 students) and the group that used their own beds (30 students). A non-probability sampling method was employed to record data. The data was collected by using a scabies checklist. Direct examinations and interviews were conducted at the Fathul Huda Demak and the Selamat Kendal boarding schools in February 2020. Statistical tests were carried out using chi-square analysis. Results: This study revealed the risk of developing scabies when a shared bed was used, with p=0.00 (p<0.05); OR=7.67; and 95%CI= 2.42–24.25. Conclusion: Students who used a shared bed in boarding schools were at 7.67 times the risk of developing scabies compared to students who used their own beds.
