Quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica L.) egg yolk is one of the high-fat foods which can trigger hyperlipidemia. The condition of hyperlipidemia can have an oxidative stress effect on the brain. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) is a natural antioxidant that acts as a defense mechanism against oxidative stress. The inhibition rate of SOD decreases when oxidative stress occurs. This study aims to determine the effect of quail egg yolk on the SOD inhibition rate of brain organs on a rat. This study used male Wistar rats aged 2-3 months with 200-300 grams of weight. The rats were divided into two groups. Each group was fed with ad libitum for two weeks. The A groups as control continued ad libitum consumption, and the B group was given additional quail egg yolk 5 ml / 200 g BW for 2 weeks. At the end of the study, the rats were terminated. The brain organs were examined for SOD inhibition rate with spectrophotometry. The mean SOD inhibition rate in the A and B groups was 74.14% ± 6.16 and 24.14% ± 5.65, respectively. The independent t-test showed significant differences in SOD inhibition rate between groups (p 0.001). Furthermore, quail egg yolk significantly reduced the SOD inhibition rate in the brain organ of the rat.

The gadget utilization among preschoolers in connection with technological advances is known to have positive and negative effects on growth and development. This study aims to identify the overview of gadget utilization and its effect on growth and development in preschool children. An analytic survey with a cross-sectional design was conducted by filling out questionnaires carried out by parents. The anthropometric measurements and developmental assessments were carried out using Indonesia Developmental Pre-screening Questionnaire (IDPQ). A hundred children and their parents participated in this study. It was found that 82% of parents lent their gadgets, and 89% taught their children to use gadgets. There were similarities in gadget utilization between parents and children, namely watching videos (73% and 90%) and communicating (92% and 40.4%). The duration of the gadget utilization by children was high, 3.7±2.2 hours/day. However, no significant correlation in the analysis between the duration of smartphone usage and nutritional status (p: 0.599). In children with different IDPQ values, there was no significant difference in the duration of device usage (p: 0.991). It can concluded the duration of the gadget utilization in children carried out by their parents did not affect the growth and development of the children.

Heart failure contributes to a high number of hospitalizations. Currently, the number of outpatients is more dominant than hospitalized heart failure patients. Unfortunately, a study in the outpatient setting is still limited. This study aims to evaluate the correlation between lipid profile and kidney function in ambulatory heart failure patients. This study is a single-center cross-sectional study. Data were collected from August to September 2020. Data were extracted from 62 medical records of heart failure patients with ejection fraction 45%. Exclusion criteria were life-threatening comorbidity and patient with routine hemodialysis. Data were analyzed with Pearson or Spearman correlation test. Most of the heart failure patients in our outpatient clinic are elderly (60 years old) and male (58%). The researchers found positive correlation of total cholesterol (r 0.39; p 0.001) and triglyceride (r 0.59; p 0.001) to serum creatinine. On the other hand, LDL and blood cholesterol ratio negatively correlated with serum creatinine, r - 0.31; p 0.016; and r - 0.46; p 0.001; respectively. All of this analysis was statistically significant. It concluded that lipid profiles were correlated with kidney function in heart failure patients

Alcohol abuse is associated with genetic factors and is influenced by certain races and ethnicities. CYP2E1, which works on the endoplasmic reticulum, produces an enzyme that plays a significant role in alcohol metabolism. In relation to it, this study aims to identify the polymorphisms of CYP2E1*5B and CYP2E1*6 genes in alcohol drinkers of Papuan Ethnics. A total of 39 Papuans were analyzed for alcohol drinking habits. Alcohol drinkers were found to be 29 people (74.4%), and 10 people (25.6%) were non-drinkers. The drinkers mainly were late teenagers (89,7%) and males (69,2%). The CYP2E1*5B genotypes were c1/c1 as 94.9% and c1/c2 as 5.1%. Meanwhile, the CYP2E1*6 T/T genotypes were 56.4%, and T/A genotypes were 43.6%. The odd ratio for CYP2E1*5B were 18,5 and 7,7 for CYP2E1*6. p0,05 for CYP2E1*5B and CYP2E1*6 gene polymorphisms for alcohol drinking behavior in the form of frequency, duration, type, and volume of alcohol consumed. Furthermore, c1/c1 and c1/c2 genotype polymorphisms were in CYP2E1*5B; T/T and T/A genotypes were in CYP2E1*6 of Papuan ethnic at Yogyakarta. In conclusion, genotype c1/c1 had 18,5 times of the possibility of being alcoholic drinkers, and genotype T/T had 7,7 times of the possibility of being alcoholic drinkers in Papuan ethnic. It indicated that the type of genotype statistically did not significantly affect alcohol drinking behavior on the subject.

Manual Vacuum Aspiration (MVA) is an action to evacuate the uterine cavity up to 14 weeks gestation. In a more extensive pregnancy, it is worried that the action of the MVA is less clean so that it will still repeat the action of sharp curettage.  This article reports a multigravida aged 42 years old, G5P2A2, intrauterine fetal death (IUFD) at 18 weeks, undergoing MVA. Diagnosis of IUFD was performed using ultrasound examination. Before MVA was done, the patient was previously given 100 μg of misoprostol orally for dilation. This pregnancy was the third pregnancy with a second husband, all of whom had abortions. Manual Vacuum Aspiration had a minimal risk of uterine injury. After MVA was conducted, ultrasound examination was repeated to confirm a clean uterine cavity. It had been carried out on an indication of IUFD of 18 weeks gestation with the result of a clean uterine cavity and minimal bleeding. Furthermore, Post-Abortion Intra-Uterine Device (PAIUD) was installed adequately, not causing complaints. Based on the result, it can be concluded that MVA is effective for evacuation of uterine cavities on 18 weeks gestation.

Allergy is still a health problem in Indonesia. One of the manifestations of allergies is allergic rhinitis. Many factors can trigger the recurrence of rhinitis, including exposure to house dust mites. This study aims to identify the population of house dust mites in the classrooms and student residences. This study was participated by 74 FK UNRI students with allergic rhinitis. The samples included dust collected from residences and classrooms consisting of four large classrooms, three small classrooms, four laboratories, two examination rooms, 12 skills lab rooms, and 15 tutorial rooms. Detection of dust was performed using the direct method. The results showed that no classroom (0%) was found with house dust mites. However, there were 37.8% of residences were positive. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the high population of house dust mites in the students’ residences becomes an essential factor as a chronic stressor for allergic rhinitis.

Research on the plantar segment has not been widely carried out in Indonesia’s population, even though the plantar segment data will be essential in further research and therapy of plantar-related problems. Therefore, this research intends to describe the plantar profile: the foot arch and the plantar pressure difference between the right and left foot. This research applied a cross-sectional study. Subjects were recruited from the Faculty of Medicine students, Universitas Indonesia, class 2012, with inclusion criteria aged 17-21 years and normal gait. Meanwhile, the exclusion criteria consisted of having postural abnormalities, a history of neuromusculoskeletal disorders in the lower limbs, a history of fractures in the spine and legs, a history of surgery on the spine and legs, and refusing to participate in the study. Research subjects stood on a plantar scanner, conducted at the Anatomy Laboratory, the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia. The Mann-Whitney test was then used to analyze the difference in plantar pressure between the right and left foot. The results revealed that a hundred research subjects had a proportion of a low foot arch of 4%, a normal foot arch of 89%, and a high foot arch of 7%. The median right plantar pressure was 273.5 KPa, while the median left plantar pressure was 253.5 KPa. The Mann-Whitney test showed a p-value of 0.954 for the pressure difference between right and left foot. There was no plantar pressure difference between the right and left foot.

Tuberculous lymphadenitis (TBLN) is the most common form of extrapulmonary tuberculosis. However, the optimal diagnosis using Fine-Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) or excisional biopsy is uncertain. This research aims to improve the diagnostic of TBLN with FNAC and immunocytochemistry (ICC) compared to the response to antituberculosis therapy. The cross-sectional study involved 43 patients with the criteria for TBLN diagnosis based on the appropriate clinical history of tuberculosis and indicative cytological results. Immunocytochemical examination employed rabbit-polyclonal to Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) antibody (AB905). The MTB expression was found in 35 out of 43 cases (81%) that appropriate cytological features of the tuberculosis process. Meanwhile, eight out of 43 cases (19%) did not express MTB. Diagnostic tests for lesions with a positive cytologic appearance of TBLN and ICC were compared to the response to anti-tuberculosis therapy, revealing the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value of 95.2%, 75%, 95.2%, and 17%, respectively. Besides, Fisher's exact tests utilized to identify the relationship between two variables; p 0.05 was considered significant. This research found immunocytochemical study was a sensitive and specific tool for improving the diagnostic of TBLN.

Adolescent sexual behavior remains a global problem with high reports of cases of adolescents behaving freely. The lack of knowledge about sexuality is caused by limited information, services, and advocacy. There has not been a reproductive health curriculum for adolescents in schools. Therefore, this study aims to determine the relationship between sex education and sexual behavior in adolescents. This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. The sampling was taken using a total sampling technique. The sample included all students of class X and XI, with a total of 102 people. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using chi-square and multiple logistic regression. Bivariate analysis results showed that there was a relationship between sex education by parents, teachers, peers, and social media and sexual behavior. The results of multivariate analysis with logistic regression tests showed that sex education provided by parents was the most substantial relationship with sexual behavior. The study concluded that parents, teachers, and social media were associated with sex education. Extensive sex education from other trusted information could reduce pre-marital sexual activity among adolescents.  Elaborating on external factors would implicate a good attitude and behavior in students.
