Through the research and analysis of historical and architectural precedent, humanproxemic, behavioural, and psychological research, this thesis explores the potential ofimplementing evidence from these research areas in the architects’ design process forcreating residences. The aim of this evidence inclusion is to engage and enhance thewellbeing of occupants through design and the manipulation of space. The evidence isin the form of designable/iterative parameters known to influence the mind and/or bodythrough a users’ experience of space. The parameters include, proxemics, ceiling height, materiality, and connection to nature and natural light. Reimagining the essentialelements of a home separately, according to their function and use from a human-centricperspective, resulted in a modular design approach. As well as an outline of how theseparameters can be explored in design, an evaluative testing method utilising virtual reality(VR) and questionnaires has been developed and employed. The testing method attemptsto measure the impact of these parameters and their iteration on the user’s experienceof the space. The testing process revolves around the user experiencing a simulation ofthe designed spaces across iterations and answering relevant questions and ultimatelyscoring the spaces in terms of Comfort, Stimulation, Privacy, Social Connection andSpatial Balance. Scoring highly in these areas and providing a successful balance of eachfactor is the main design goal of this thesis. Achieving this goal in space is what this thesisdefines as spatial wellbeing. The main value of this design led research however comesthrough the development and findings from the testing and design processes. The aimwas to create a system that allows a more personally (user) responsive residentialarchitecture to be developed, and to overcome the abyss that sometimes exists betweenan architect’s design on paper, and the built home of a client. This design-based researchaddresses the role design plays in domestic architecture’s ability to improve peoples’wellbeing.

In the last two decades, neuroscience studies have suggested that various psychological phenomena are produced by predictive processes in the brain. When considered together, these studies form a coherent, neurobiologically inspired program for guiding psychological research about the mind and behavior. In this article, we consider the common assumptions and hypotheses that unify an emerging framework and discuss the ramifications of such a framework, both for improving the replicability and robustness of psychological research and for renewing psychological theory by suggesting an alternative ontology of the human mind.

The prevention of cognitive dismoderate intercourse depends on the distinction of the basic behavioral stereotypes, blocking, moderation (this is a moderate, correct measure) regarding the adequate processing of information between the reflective representations of personality and the importance of the process of personality of communication. The study identifies the main aspects of the relationships of children in the family environment, influencing the process of cognitive dismoderate intercourse, through a projective methodology. Inductive for inferior interactions between family members is the arrangement of the drawings on the left side of the leaf, predominantly in pale colors. The importance of perception, as a sensory perception in children's drawings, is projected, as a reflection of things in the mind, through the sensory organs, indicative of cognitive dismoderate intercourse, is the blunting of the basic logical conclusions of the communicative process in the preponderance of emotional conclusions. The pale colors in the children's drawings, as well as the too bright ones, are indicative of cognitive deficits in communication. The reflective attitude of children to the events and events of their relationships with their parents influences the process of immediate active reflection on the cognitive spheres in the human mind, through internally personal and external objects, situations, positions, phenomena that determine the dysmoderate breaking of feedback in interactions. A large percentage of the students surveyed do not portray their family members holding hands, which is indicative of the lack of trust between family members, in their joint communication processes, they doubt their sincerity towards each other. Distant figures of family members are observed in the images in children's drawings; in practice, this is an indicator of alienation between family members. Basically, children's drawings lack eyelashes, when depicting family members, this is indicative of the lack of interest of family members towards each other. The lack of understanding of the problematic relationships between parents and children enhances the process of cognitive dismoderate intercourse between them, this type of relationship, the children transfer to the school environment. When children draw long arms in the image of their family, this indicator shows the presence in the mind of the child of an overbearing, arrogant and mentally burdensome person. The preventive importance of social interactions and attitudes has emerged, through the indicators of children's drawings indicating the behavioral tendencies and energy charge of adolescents, mainly in their behavior, a rich emotional world of manifested emotions is observed, but most of them are of a negative nature due to blocking and behavioral stressors.

Every advertisement text has a specific impact on the mind of receivers. Just like a water-mill or wind mill, human mind develops a specific systematic interaction against different advertisement texts. This section focuses on how information presented and carried by different texts are built on human mind. The basic aim is to reveal how advertisement texts operate human mind. In this sense, the authors try to understand the impact of analogue media on our minds through discussing the nature of science, the way human mind operates, and the structure of mass communication means. On top of that, the authors visualize this interaction on a model. This model would not only make it possible for us to understand our interaction with analogue media but also would give clues about digital media. With these clues, it would be possible to make predictions about changing advertising environment, and accordingly the way of making more effective strategies and future of advertising sector.

In the interior decoration, the use of Telichitro has reached its fame to the people. In ancient times, the King-Maharaj and the rich man used to use oil in his home on a large scale. The common people used to paint on raw walls with raw colors on the ground, but nowadays, using a good variety of colors in interior designs has opened up new dimensions in this business, which is becoming a means of income and employment of individuals. In this business, using colors to keep the emotions in mind, increase the beauty and variety of the items.

Abstract. The main research areas of the Social and Health Psychology group at the Department of Psychology at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, are introduced. Exemplarily, three currently ongoing projects are described. The project ”Dyadic exchange processes in couples facing dementia” examines social exchanges in couples with the husband suffering from dementia and is based on Equity Theory. This project applies a multi-method approach by combining self-report with observational data. The ”Swiss Tobacco Monitoring System” (TMS) is a representative survey on smoking behaviour in Switzerland. Besides its survey character, the Swiss TMS also allows for testing psychological research questions on smoking with a representative sample. The project, ”Theory-based planning interventions for changing nutrition behaviour in overweight individuals”, elaborates on the concept of planning. More specifically, it is tested whether there is a critical amount of repetitions of a planning intervention (e.g., three or nine times) in order to ensure long-term effects.

Abstract. Multiculturalism has been criticized and rejected by an increasing number of politicians, and social psychological research has shown that it can lead to outgroup stereotyping, essentialist thinking, and negative attitudes. Interculturalism has been proposed as an alternative diversity ideology, but there is almost no systematic empirical evidence about the impact of interculturalism on the acceptance of migrants and minority groups. Using data from a survey experiment conducted in the Netherlands, we examined the situational effect of promoting interculturalism on acceptance. The results show that for liberals, but not for conservatives, interculturalism leads to more positive attitudes toward immigrant-origin groups and increased willingness to engage in contact, relative to multiculturalism.

In De Anima Book III, Aristotle subscribed to a theory of formal identity between the human mind and the extra-mental objects of our understanding. This has been one of the most controversial features of Aristotelian metaphysics of the mind. I offer here a defense of the Formal Identity Thesis, based on specifically epistemological arguments about our knowledge of necessary or essential truths.
