<p>Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the workplace are increasingly connecting employees. This ICT connectivity has mixed effects on individuals' work productivity and it raises ongoing concern in literature and in the media. The goal of this research was to investigate ICT self-discipline in this context to better explain the effect of ICT connectivity on individual work productivity.   A review of existing literature on ICTs in the workplace took place, drawing from the disciplines of Information Systems (IS), Communications, Psychology and Organisational Studies. The literature review assisted with the development of a conceptual research model, which was subsequently used to guide this research.   The conceptual research model was validated and refined through the qualitative phase of this research. This phase used semi-structured interviews to expand views on the research phenomena. The updated research model was further validated during the model refinement phase of this research. This phase consisted of two focus groups. Collectively, the literature review, the qualitative phase and the model refinement phase assisted in transforming the updated research model into a testable form.   The quantitative phase of this research consolidated key themes from relevant literature and findings from the two prior research phases to develop a survey instrument. An online survey was conducted to test the research model and address the research goal.   The statistical analysis of the survey data provided useful results. First, the indicator and construct validity showed that the survey instrument was reliable and it accurately reflected the investigated phenomena. Second, the hypothesis testing showed support for the research model when tested in different contexts. The findings from this phase helped address the research goal.  Overall, findings from this research indicated that job requirement for ICT connectivity influences an individual's level of ICT connectivity for work, ICT connectivity positively impacts individual work productivity and ICT self-discipline positively influences individual work productivity. Additionally, ICT self-discipline can positively moderate the effect of ICT connectivity on individual work productivity for employees with low-interdependent jobs and/or working in large/multi-national firms. Further, ICT self-discipline can negatively moderate the effect of ICT connectivity on individual work productivity for employees with high-interdependent jobs and/or working in small firms. Thus, for enhanced productivity, it is important to assess an employee‘s work settings prior to determining how strictly to impose ICT self-discipline.   This research addresses concerns on the effects of ICTs raised in the literature and in the media. The research drew from IS and Psychology literature to develop the notion of ICT self-discipline – an individual‘s ability to regulate their behaviors towards ICTs. The research investigated how this notion could enhance the effect of ICTs on individual work productivity. Further, a model towards theory explaining productive ICT connectivity for work is contributed. This model goes beyond existing theories in IS and contributes knowledge to the literature on IS, Communications, Psychology and Organisational Studies. Finally, this study informs practice by providing employees with insights on how to deal with communication through ICTs to ensure they are continuously productive at work.</p>

This paper is the outcome of a course project for Economics of Sustainability (Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts). Facilitated and under the direction of the instructor, course participants designed a survey instrument where questions and responses were developed to be indicators of behavioral bias related to the environment. The consumer good targeted in the survey was convenience-based coffee consumption, and convenience was defined by the use of single-use disposable coffee cups. The discussion highlights the survey development process including literature review-based expectations specific to each question. The paper concludes with next steps, which involve the administration of the instrument and evaluation of the survey results.

This work aims to reorganize theoretical and empirical research on smart mobility through the systematic literature review approach. The research goal is to reach an extended and shared definition of smart mobility using the cluster analysis. The article provides a summary of the state of the art that can have broader impacts in determining new angles for approaching research. In particular, the results will be a reference for future quantitative developments for the authors who are working on the construction of a territorial measurement model of the smartness degree, helping them in identifying performance indicators consistent with the definition proposed.

Aim/Purpose: The aim of this study is to develop a research model derived from relevant literature to guide empirical efforts. Background: Companies struggle to innovate, which is essential for improving their performance, surviving in competition, and growing. A number of studies have discussed company innovation capability, stating that innovation capability is influenced by several variables such as cooperation and knowledge management. Therefore, further research is necessary to identify factors playing a role in enhancing innovation capability. Methodology: This study is based on systematic literature review. The stages are: (1) research scope review, (2) comprehensive online research, (3) journal quality assessment, (4) data extraction from journals, (5) journal synthesis, and (6) comprehensive report. The online research used Google Scholar database, by browsing titles, abstracts, and keywords to locate empirical research studies in peer-reviewed journals published in 2010-2020. Furthermore, 62 related articles were found, of which 38 articles were excluded from further analysis and 24 articles were selected because they were more related to the topic. Contribution: The results of this study enrich the research in the field of knowledge management, cooperation, and innovation capability by developing a conceptual framework of innovation capability. The proposed theoretical model may be fundamental in addressing the need of a research model to guide further empirical efforts. Findings: This study provides a research model derived from systematically reviewing relevant literature. The proposed theoretical model was done by incorporating the aspects of knowledge management, cooperation, and innovation capability. The model shows that knowledge management and cooperation are essential aspects of innovation capability. Furthermore, this study also provides the dimensions and sub dimensions of each variable that was established after synthesizing the literature review. Recommendations for Practitioners: Business practitioners can use the identified predictors of innovation capability and the dimensions of each variable to explore their company’s innovation capability. They can also take the relevant variables into consideration when making policies regarding innovation. Recommendation for Researchers: The theoretical model proposed in this study needs validation with further empirical investigation. Impact on Society: Readers of this paper can obtain an understanding that knowledge management and cooperation are essential aspects to consider in enhancing innovation capability. Future Research: Future studies should explore other dimensions of knowledge management and cooperation through alternative approaches and perspectives.

ALKI is an e-module that serves as a learning medium for grade X students majoring in MIA at SMAN 1 MAPAT TUNGGUL. E-module ALKI was created with the aim of assisting teachers in delivering materials and helping students understand more about chemical materials by repeating lessons, working on exercises, and strengthening memory by playing flashcards. The thing behind the design of alki e-module is the lack of motivation to learn students, difficulty and the absence of internet network in Mapat Tunggul area, students should not take home the package book, the smartphone owned by students is not used to study, and when doing homework with the help of the internet most students just copy the answer without understanding the origin of the answer. This research method is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4-D research model (four-D) that is with define, Design, Development, and Disseminate stages. In the Development stage, the development stage of ALKI e-module media is carried out. The media development model used in this study is MDLC(Multimedia Development Life Cycle) luther-sutopo version which consists of 6 stages, namely conception, design, material collection, manufacturing process, testing and distribution. The result of the research is a mobile-based ALKI e-module product. With 0.81 validity test results declared valid,0.93 Practicality test results are practiced very practically,and 0.80 effectiveness test results are declared very effective. So, it can be concluded that alki e-module based on mobile application as a learning medium has been valid, practical and effective.

The current educational system upholds principles and practices that covertly support institutionalized oppression while affirming and legitimizing privilege and entitlement for students, teachers, and administrators who emulate the cultural capital of the dominant Western culture. This systematic literature review, explored ways in which Black leaders have enacted social justice education in Ontario elementary schools from 1970 to 2017. I have searched six academic databases, peer reviewed journals, the media, academic and professional articles and used close reading and textual analysis to critique Social Justice Leadership discourses. Barriers still exist to Black students’ progress. More research is needed for meaningful social change

This study aimed at (1) developing interactive animated learning media on starter system materials for the subject of light electrical vehicle maintenance, (2) examining the effectiveness of developed media assessed from the aspects of display, program, and interactive based on students’ responses. The research model used was the development model of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) developed by Branch. This study was conducted at SMK PGRI 4 Ngawi. Instruments used to obtain data were interviews and questionnaires. Product development was validated by material experts and media experts, then was tested in small (limited) and large trials (field). The results of this development study were as follows: (1) The analysis result of developed media showed that the media is feasible to be used in learning or in a good category. (2) The results of the assessment showed that the aspects of display, program and interactivity were all in the good category.

In this chapter, the authors present a methodology for researching and evaluating Serious Games (SG) and digital (or other forms of) Game-Based Learning (GBL). The methodology consists of the following elements: 1) frame-reflective analysis; 2) a methodology explicating the rationale behind a conceptual-research model; 3) research designs and data-gathering procedures; 4) validated research instruments and tools; 5) a body of knowledge that provides operationalised models and hypotheses; and 6) professional ethics. The methodology is intended to resolve the dilemma between the “generality” and “standardisation” required for comparative, theory-based research and the “specificity” and “flexibility” needed for evaluating specific cases.
