Successful motherhood in educating children requires learning how to best care for children. Excellent parenting programs make it easier for mothers to better care for their children. The study aim was to examine the effect of "excellent parenting program" on the authoritative parenting patterns of mothers. A total number of 14 mothers were involved in this study.  A quasi-experimental method was used. Data was collected using the authoritative parenting scale, and analyzed using t-test. The result shows that the excellent parenting program has a positive effect on the improvement of mother’s authoritative parenting. This study concludes that the excellent parenting program provides benefits for mothers to improve their authoritative parenting skills.Key words: Authoritative parenting, excellent parenting program, mother. Abstrak: Sukses menjadi ibu dalam mendidik anak memerlukan belajar bagaimana mengasuh yang terbaik untuk anak. Program excellent parenting membantu memudahkan ibu dalam menerapkan pola pengasuhan anak secara otoritatif. Tujuan penelitian adalah menguji pengaruh program excellent parenting terhadap pola pengasuhan otoritatif ibu. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi-eksperimen terhadap 14 ibu. Pengumpulan data penelitian berupa skala pola pengasuhan otoritatif. Analisis data menggunakan t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa “program excellent parenting” memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan pola asuh otoritatif ibu. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa program excellent parenting bermanfaat bagi para ibu untuk meningkatkan pola asuh otoritatif.

Deal with children in adolescence stage, parents often showing impatience behavior, unable to control him/herself, complaining when faced with difficulties in parenting and do not listen attentively toward child’s problems. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of mindful parenting program to improve parenting skills in a positive way. The research method used a quasi-experimental design with measurement technique was Interpersonal Mindfulness in Parenting Scale. The subjects were 28 parents of students of class VII SMPN 15 Bandung. The results showed that the effect of mindful parenting programs has improved significantly on three skills in aspect of positive parenting included listening attentively, emotional awareness of self and children, and self-regulation in the parenting relationship. But for the other two aspects, namely acceptance of self and children without judgment, and the love of self and children the results are less significant.

The objective of this study was to find out whether or not there was any significant difference on reading comprehension of analytical exposition that were taught by using Peer Assisted Learning strategy (PALS) and those who were not, and to find out whether or not it was effective to use PALS on reading comprehension. This study used quasi experimental method. 78 students was taken as sample, consists of 39 students XI IPS 3 as experimental group and XI IPS 4 as control group. Test was used in collecting data as pretest and posttest. To verify the hypothesis, the result of independent sample t-test found that t-obtained (11.077) was higher than t-table (1.9917) with df(=76), and the significance 2-tailed was 0.000. It means that there was any significant difference on reading comprehension that were taught by using PALS and those who were not, and also it was effective to use PALS.

The result of a preliminary study conducted by the researcher showed that the information literacy ofstudents at the Elementary School Teacher (PGSD) Program was low. Therefore, this research was done to understand the effect of Empowering 8 model application in improving student's information  literacy. This research used the quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research participants were 66 students, consisting of 33 students in the experimentalclass and 33 students in the control class. This research utilized some instruments , including pretest,posttest, questionnaires and observation sheets. The results obtained were: the studeinformation literacy ability based on ARCL experimental class was in the high category. It revealed that application of Empowering 8 model had a positive effect on the student's information literacy.

Abstract The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of contextual media with Arduino Uno-based media on students’ higher-order thinking skills on density material. The population of this research is class XII IPA MAN 1 Pontianak totaling six classes, with samples of class XII IPA A and class XII IPA B. This study is quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest group design—sampling with a simple random technique to determine the experimental and control classes. The data collection technique used is a test in the form of pretest and post-test questions. The data analysis technique used is the one-party t-test based on the sig value and the normalized gain (N-gain). The results of research data analysis showed that contextual learning media with media based on Arduino Uno had a positive effect and improved students’ higher-order thinking skills than students who used conventional media. It is indicated by the results of the t-test with a value of sig. The post-test score is 0.001, and the results of the improvement test with the N-gain of the experimental class are in the medium category, higher than the control class category, namely low. So that learning physics using learning media based on Ardouno Uno has a positive effect and can improve students’ Higher Order Thinking skills.

Writing is regarded as a challenging subject in school. At the same time, it was a critical skill for students to master because it is so important in this age of globalization. This study aimed to find out whether or not the Flower Writing Strategy was effective to be used in teaching writing descriptive text. The quasi-experimental method was used in this study. The sample of the study was 68 students taken by using the purposive sampling technique. The data was gained by using a written test. The data were analyzed by using a t-test. Based on the result of the independent sample t-test, it was found that t-obtained (3.439) was higher than ttable (1.9955) and pvalue (0.001) was less than άvalue (0.05). It meant that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and alternative hypothesis (Ha) were accepted. Hence, Flower Writing Strategy was effective to be used in teaching descriptive text.

This research driven by the phenomena that majority of mothers have poor understanding on her role as the first educators for their children and the significance of her emotion function in optimizing the child development. The purpose of research was to test the effectiveness of home-start parenting program in improving maternal emotional function. This research used a quasi-experimental design with a single subject. Subjects of research were three mothers who have low levels on their emotional functions. Data were analyzed by analysis of visual inspection to see the trajectory of the line graph and statistical analysis used the overlap data to test the effectiveness of the intervention. The result showed the occurrence of significant difference in scores between baseline phase and the intervention with increasing maternal emotional function scores level. These findings suggested that home-start parenting programs effective in improving the quality of maternal emotional function. Hence the home-start parenting programs can be used as a model of intervention in early childhood parenting.

Today many schools are based on Islam that is quality oriented. One guarantee of the quality their graduates in guardian students is the ability to read al-Quran well in every child. However, the current phenomenon is a lack of improvement in learning it especially in reading  al-Quran in several schools. The UMMI method helps institutions and teachers improve the ability to process Qur'anic learning that is effective, easy, fun and touching. This study uses a quasi-experimental method, using the quasi experimental design; the instruments used are observation, interviews, direct tests and documentation. The research was carried out in MIPA VIIIT class VII of Anni'mah Margahayu as the experimental class and class VII A of Muhammadiyah Margahayu as a control class with UMMI teacher subjects and 25 students in each class.  Based on the results of the analysis of the Paired Test T-test samples in the experimental class that were treated with learning using the UMMI method, it is known that the sig value. (2-tailed) of 0,000 <0,05. Because the sig value. (2-tailed) 0,000 smaller than 0.05, it can be concluded that the use of the UMMI method in the experimental class can improve students' Koran reading abilities.

The objectives of this study is: “to find out whether or not there Is the influence between the students who are taught by using mind mapping technique and who are not taught  by using mind mapping technique ”. The 60 samples out of 120 students from the eighth grade students were chosen by means  purposive sampling technique. It used quasi-experimental method, nonrandomized pretest and posttest design. The data was analyzed using independent  t-test for SPSS. The result showed that t-obtained was 6.20, while t-table was 2.04. it means that there was the influence between the students who were taught by using mind mapping technique and who were not taught  by using mind mapping technique.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji secara empiris tentang perbedaan penalaran moral remaja yang sekolah di madrasah dan sekolah umum. Selain itu juga ingin mengetahui pengaruh pola asuh terhadap penalaran moral remaja, serta perbedaan penalaran moral ditinjau dari jenis kelamin dan usia. Subjek penelitian ini adalah remaja yang bersekolah di sekolah madrasah dan sekolah umum, yaitu sebanyak 253 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode skala, yaitu skala pola asuh dan skala penalaran moral. Skala pola asuh digunakan untuk mengetahui jenis pola asuh (pola asuh otoriter, permissif, dan otoritatif) yang diterapkan oleh orangtua terhadap subjek penelitian. Skala penalaran moral digunakan untuk mengetahui tingkatan penalaran moral subjek penelitian.  Teknik analisa data yang digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis adalah teknik Independent Samples T Test dan teknik Analisis Regresi (Anareg) Linier Sederhana untuk menguji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) ada perbedaan penalaran moral antara remaja yang bersekolah di madrasah dan sekolah umum; (2) tidak ada pengaruh jenis pola asuh terhadap penalaran moral remaja; (3) tidak ada perbedaan penalaran moral antara remaja laki-laki dan perempuan; dan (4) tidak ada perbedaan penalaran moral berdasarkan usia, tingkat penalaran moral antara usia remaja awal dengan usia remaja tengah relatif sama. Kata kunci: pola asuh, penalaran moral, sekolah madrasah, sekolah umum, jenis kelamin, usia.This research is aimed at empirically testing differences between moral reasoning of adolescent in Madrasah School and Public School. Besides that, this research is also attempting to identify influences of parenting towards moral reasoning of adolescent and its differences in terms of gender and age. Subject of this research is 253 adolescents who attend Madrasah School and Public School. This research uses quantitative method and the data will be collected using scale method, more specifically parenting scale and moral reasoning scale. Parenting scale will be utilized to identify parenting type (authoritarian, permissive, and authoritative parenting) applied by parents to research subject. Moral reasoning scale is utilized to identify subject’s moral reasoning level. This research uses Independent Samples T-Test and Simple Linear Regression Analysis to test the hypotheses. The results show that: (1) there are differences on moral reasoning between adolescent who attend Madrasah School and adolescent who attend Public School; (2) there is no influences on parenting type to moral reasoning of adolescent in those schools; (3) there is no differences on moral reasoning between male and female adolescents; and (4) there is no differences on moral reasoning based on age, moral reasoning level between early age adolescent and middle age adolescent is relatively equal. .Keywords: Parenting, Moral Reasoning, Madrasah School, Public School, Gender, Age.
