Tradisi, Bentuk, Nilai dan Identitas Desain Produk Abad 19-20

ABSTRACTÂ The design has meaning and value. It is not only point out to the object but also refers to the dif- ference meaning contained. The design has a variety of meanings therefore no singular definition will suï¬ƒce to explain the whole process in design. Design can refer to the knowledge, work and discourse. The process of creating a design in that sense requires consideration of aspects of unity between form, function, meaning and value. Along with the development of science, technology, art and culture, they expanded the meaning of design started by the issues of form into value that ultimately relates to identity. Through literature study of design works from some types of products in a particular period, that every country that has its roots in traditional design were not uniform in defining or classifying designs. A variety of meanings of the design can be determined design position in tradition activities, and actualize it in a diï¬€erent national identity.Â Keywords: Education of Art, Design, Tradition, Value and IdentityÂ Â Â Â ABSTRAKÂ Desain memiliki makna dan nilai, tidak hanya mengacu pada objek tetapi perbedaan mak- na yang dikandungnya. Desain memiliki beragam arti, karenanya definisi tunggal tidak akan cukup menjelaskan seluruh proses dalam desain. Desain dapat mengacu kepada ilmu, karya maupun wacana. Proses membuat desain dalam pengertian tersebut, membutuhkan pertim- bangan aspek kesatuan antara bentuk, fungsi, makna dan nilai. Seiring perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, seni dan budaya, desain mengalami perluasan makna dari persoalan bentuk menjadi persoalan nilai yang pada akhirnya berkaitan dengan identitas. Melalui studi literatur karya-karya desain dari beberapa jenis produk pada masa tertentu, bahwa setiap Ne- gara yang memiliki akar dalam tradisi desain, tidak seragam dalam menentukan atau mem- buat klasifikasi desain. Dari keragaman pemaknaan terhadap desain, dapat ditentukan posisi desain dalam aktivitas tradisi, serta mewujudkannya dalam identitas nasional yang berbeda.Â Kata kunci: Pendidikan seni, Desain, Tradisi, Nilai dan Identitas

Arca is one of the relics of the classical period that has various forms and is the development of human thought in the field of art and culture. Thought can be seen in Pura Subak Ulun Suwi Sidewaas Bangli which until now still functioned with the statue which amounted to 14 pieces. Some of the problems in this study include the form, function and meaning of archaeological remains in Pura Subak Ulun Suwi Sidewaas Bangli. This study uses data collection methods consisting of several stages of observation, interviews, and literature study. The next stage is the stage of data analysis, this stage using qualitative analysis and iconography analysis. The theory used in this research is the functional theory and the theory of semiotics, which is expected to solve the problems in this research. Archeology in Pura Subak Ulun Suwi Sidewaas Bangli encompasses two statues of bhatari embodiment, four statues of bhatara, one lingga tribhaga, two lingga above lapel and stela and five fragments of the statue. These stalks are believed to be a means to invoke the welfare of the plants that are incomes for the people who depend on the plantations. The holy water obtained from the temple is not only used for self-use, but also used for the fertility of cattle and plants. The residue that is sanctioned by the community of temple penyungsung has meaning as a means of worship, the worship means in question is symbolic of the goddess god or his ancestor in an effort to get closer to his ancestors.

This paper evaluates the history and cycling accessibility of Nova, a shopping centre established in Lund, Sweden, in 2002. The current situation was also analysed through observation and a literature review. Moreover, the study conducted a closer analysis of the history and role of the municipality based on further literature study and interviews with officials. The conclusion of the analysis indicates poor and unsafe bikeways caused by conflicts of interest between politicians, officials, landowners and the general public. It also depicts a situation in which the municipality’s master plan has been ignored, and, in contrast to the local goals, cycling accessibility at Nova has seen no significant improvement since the shopping centre was first established. The reasons for this, arguably, are a relatively low budget for bikeway improvements in the municipality, as well as a situation in which decision-makers have stopped approaching the subject, as a result of the long and often boisterous conflicts it has created in the past. Lastly, it must be noted that it is easy to regard the whole process of Nova, from its establishment to the current situation, as being symptomatic of the power structures between drivers and cyclists that still affect decision-makers at all levels.

The Development of tourism in Indonesia is done by considering the art and culture, natural resources and local wisdom as basis for development. The purpose of tourism development is to introduce, utilize, conserve, and improve the quality tourist attraction, maintain norms and values of religious and cultural life and also nature the sound environment. prevent negative impact that can be caused by activities of tourism, and improve the welfare society. One of culture introduced since the development of tourism in Bali is Barong Dance perfomance used as a tourists attractions for both domestic and international tourits. The Research of Barong Dance Perfomance as a tourist attraction discusses three issues as follows (1) How is the form of the Barong Dance performance as a tourist attraction in Kedewatan Village Ubud District Gianyar Regency?, (2). How is the tourists perception of the Barong Performance as a tourist attraction?. (3) What is the contribution of Barong Dance Perfomance as a tourist attraction for the local community in the Kedewatan Village?.This research used a qualitative method. Qualitative analysis is used to describe the form of the Barong Dance Perfomance, the perception of tourists, the contribution of the Barong Dance Perfomance. Data analysis is using Comodification Theory. Data collection is obtained through observation, interview, literature study, and document study. The research findings are presented and elaboreted descriptively to obtain overall conclucions.These results indicates that the Barong Dance performances as a tourist attraction is designed in the form of a performance package including stage of the show, the ritual, the percussion, and the story of Barong Dance. The perception of the tourists are generally good. The Barong performance as a tourist attraction has conrtibuted to the welfare of society in economic and sociallife of the local culture of the Kedewatan Village.

The Difference

Our traditional design has been producer-centric. But to respond to the frequent and extensive changes and increasing diversification, we have to change our design to user-centric. But it is not a straightforward extension and just listening to the voice of the customer is not enough. Value is defined as value = performance/cost, but performance has been interpreted in the current design solely as functions of a final product and all other factors such as manufacturing are considered as cost. This framework has been effective until recently because there has been asymmetry of information between the producer and the customer. As the producer had a greater amount of information, they only had to produce a product which they think best and it really satisfied the customer who needed a product. The 20th century was the age of products. But as we approached the 21st century, we entered information society and sometimes the customer knows more than the producer. Thus, such a one way flow of development to fill the information (water level) gap doe not work any more, because the gap is quickly disappearing. The difference was evaluated as value in the traditional design and it meant profit for the producer. Therefore, a new approach to create value is called for. One solution is to raise the water level together by the producer and the customer so that the level increase serves for profit for the producer and for the true value for the customer. In order to achieve this goal, we have to identify what is the true value for the customer. We have to step outside of our traditional notion of value being functions of a final product. What is the true value for the customer? It is customers’ satisfaction. Then, how can we satisfy our customers. This paper points out if we note that our customers are very active and creative, we can provide satisfaction to them by getting them involved in the whole process of product development. Then our customers can enjoy not only product experience but also process experience, which will satisfy their needs for self actualization and challenge, i.e., their highest human needs.

On the platform of the UG Software’s CAD/MoldWizard/CAM components, the whole process of design and NC manufacturing of the plastic injection mold of a hair dryer’s shell was completed. The CAD/CAM process of the plastic injection mold was introduced by the practical application. The large advantage of the UG platform over the traditional method in the field of plastic injection molds’ design and manufacturing was reflected. The plastic injection molds’ design and manufacturing is a great challenge to the traditional design and manufacturing method, and the UG solutions can promote mold manufacturers’ ability of design and manufacturing remarkably.

In the traditional design of round broach ,the impact tools of broach maybe unable to achieve the requirements for the processing precision, or even occur the situation of partial fracture due to a exaggerated partial deformation. In this article, by using Pro/E we complete the 3D solid modeling and the dimensional parameterization of the impact tools for combination round and spline broach, then import the 3D model into ANSYS, to analyze and solve the whole process of load and deformation at work. It can effectively improve the machining accuracy and the reliability of round broach, shorten the design cycle and reduce cost.

AbstrakTari Gatholoco adalah tari kelompok berjenis tradisi rakyat dalam sebuah kelompok seni di Desa Kembangsari. Tari Gatholoco belum diketahui siapa penciptanya dan digarap oleh Badrun tahun 1965 kemudian digarap oleh Tono tahun 1980. Tari Gatholoco menarik karena pola lantai membentuk formasi huruf (terbalik dari arah depan) yang menyusun sebuah kata Temanggung. Juga terdapat gerak penghubung antar gerak satu ke gerak berikutnya dan gerak penghubung untuk perpindahan pola lantai dengan senggakan â€œsukseskan pembangunanâ€. Tari Gatholoco memiliki fungsi sosial dalam masyarakat Desa Kembangsari. Penelitian ini menggunakan landasan teori bentuk oleh Suzanne K. Langer dan Sri Rochana Widyastutieningrum dan teori fungsi oleh Raymond Firth. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, merupakan metode penelitian yang menekankan pada telaah mendalam suatu fenomena yang terjadi dengan melakukan wawancara, dokumentasi, pengamatan langsung, pengamatan tidak langsung, dan studi pustaka. Presentasi yang disajikan berupa data dan visual. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat diperoleh gambaran yang berkaitan dengan bentuk sajian dan fungsi sosial tari Gatholoco yang hingga kini masih hidup dan berkembang di kalangan masyarakat Desa Kembangsari. Bentuk sajian tari Gatholoco terdapat gerak yang menggambarkan aktivitas masyarakat sehari hari. Fungsi sosial tari Gatholoco yaitu sebagai sarana kepuasan batin, sarana bersantai dan hiburan, sarana ungkapan jati diri, sarana integratif dan pemersatu, dan sarana pendidikan amat positif di kehidupan masyarakat Desa Kembangsari.Kata kunci: Gatholoco, Bentuk, FungsiAbstractGatholoco Dance is a group dance of the folk-type tradition in an art group in Kembangsari Village. Not yet known who the creator of Gatholoco dance it was cultivated by Badrun in 1965 then tilled by Tono in 1980. Gatholoco dance is very interesting, because pattern floor as like alfabet (upside down from the front) which composes the word means like Temanggung. That dance also relational between one of the movement to the next movement, and then the relational connecting the other movement of the pattern floor it is mean that â€œsuccessful developmentâ€. Gatholoco dance has a sociocultural function in the Kembangsari Village. This research uses the foundation of form theory by Suzanne K. Langer and Sri Rochana Widyastutieningrum and function theory by Raymond Firth. This research uses qualitative method, is a research method that emphasizes in depth study of a phenomenon that occurs by conducting interviews, documentation, direct observation, indirect observation, and literature study. Presentation is presented in the form of data and visual. The results of this study can be obtained a picture relating to the form of course and social function of Gatholoco dance which until now is still alive and growing among the people of Kembangsari Village. There is a movement that describes the daily activities of society in the form of Gatholoco dance course. The social function of Gatholoco dance is as a mean of inner satisfaction, means of relaxation and entertainment, means of expression of identity, integrative means and unifier, means of educational, means of healing, symbolic means of meaning and power, and means of integration in chaotic times are very positive in the life of the community of Kembangsari Village.Keywords: Gatholoco, Form, Function.
