This Research was designed to improve the students’ ability in writing by Describing pictures.The problem of the research was “can describing pictures improve students’ ability in writing?”.  There were many kinds of strategies that could be used in teaching writing, but in this research, the researcher applied only describing pictures, and writing activities focusing on the kinds of activities. The design of this research was Collaborative Classroom Action Research (CAR). Based on the analytical scoring rubric showed that from 63 in the first cycle and got increased to 73 in the second cycle. In the first cycle there were 13 Students of 30 students could reach the minimum score or only 43 % students were success. While in the last cycle there were 27 Students of 30 students could reach even greater that the minimum score or 90% students were success.Based on the conclusion of this research the researcher suggests some points. Firstly, describing pictures could be employed to improve the students’ ability in writing. Secondly, it was suggested that the English teacher could apply describing pictures as one of the alternative techniques that could be used in the teaching of English to all skills especially writing.

Writing is a difficult skill for the students at SMPN 26 Makassar. It could be seen from the result of a diagnostic test which showed the ability of the second year students of SMPN 26 Makassar in writing paragraphs was still poor. The students were unable to express their ideas well in making descriptive texts. The research used Classroom Action Research that consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection. It conducted in two cycles in which each cycle comprised four meetings. The subjects of this research were 28 students of the second year students of SMPN 26 Makassar.The findings indicated that the students’ ability to write descriptive text in cycle 1 has not reached the score target because the mean score of the students was 66.52 that classified as “fairly good” whereas, In cycle 2 the students’ mean score was 75.26. It indicated that the score target has been reached and classified as “Good”. Therefore, the researcher suggested the English teacher apply Four Square Writing Method as one of the alternative ways of teaching writing subject in the classroom especially in teaching the descriptive text.

This is a study on the effectiveness of the Number Head Together (NHT) strategy on Improving Students' English achievement. It was done to find out whether the NHT strategy could improve the students' English ability. This study is a classroom action research that was done at the XYZ School. To find out the effectiveness of the implemented strategy, then the students were tested using the English test after they were treated teaching using NHT strategy by the teacher, besides, the students were also observed. To obtain these, so there were two instruments used in this study such as; a set of English tests and an observation sheet. After all of the data were analyzed, so the finding of this study is finally drawn as that the NHT strategy is very effective to be implemented on improving the students’ English achievement at XYZ School. Where 40 students were able to achieve the minimum score criteria, 31 of the students got the "good" score category and 9 of the students got a "very good" score category. Due to this result, then the English teacher is expected to apply the NHT strategy in learning English.

<p>The aims of this research are to know about the use of flashcards to improve the English Young Learners’ writing skills. English has four skills to be learned; they are listening, speaking, reading, and writing, and writing skill is the most difficult skill to be taught and learnt. Flashcards are one of the ways to improve the learners’ skill, especially EYL writing skill. The participants of this research are English Young Learners (EYL) in of the English Course at Gading Serpong, Tangerang. Classroom Action Research (CAR) was used as the method of the research and the English Young Learners’ (EYL) story paper are used as the instruments of the research. The results of the research are: (1) Most learners were excited when they are asked to see the colorful flashcard; (2) Learners who have good writing skill could make the story by completing the missing words and answer the questions then arrange the answer sentences well and (3) Learners who are not really master in writing, got some difficulties not only in completing the missing words but also answering then arranging the answer sentences well.</p>

The purposes of this research were to find out whether example non-example strategy can improve the students’ writing skill on descriptive, and to find out what factors influence the improvement of the students’ writing skill in writing descriptive text. This research was Classroom Action Research. This research was conducted in two cycles, which each cycle had three meetings. It was conducted from August 1st until August 31th.The researcher gathered the data in each cycles from observation checklist, field notes, interviews, and writing test. After analyzing the data, the researcher found that Example non-example strategy was able to improve the students’ writing skill of descriptive text through the process of comprehending the students, and assisting the students while they were writing. As the results, the students could improve their writing skill which involved the improvement of mean score of writing indicators; vocabulary, content/ideas, and organization. Moreover, it could be seen from the improvement of their mean score of basic score (56), test I (h62.5), and test II (79.4). Furthermore, the factors that influence the improvement of the students’ writing skill involved materials, media, and learning strategy. To sum up, the implementation of Example non-example strategy in teaching writing of descriptive text could provide positive results on their writing skill

This research comes from the weakness of vocabulary mastery of students with disability. This researcher used Classroom Action Research (CAR) in integrated classroom to improve vocabulary of the students with disability at the second grade of SMP Diponegoro, Junrejo, Batu in the academic year 2017/2018 by using flashcards. In this research, the researcher becomes a teacher while the English teacher becomes a volunteer or therapist to help, control and manage the class. The result of the study showed that before the implementation of flashcards, all students with disability’ score were under 75, with the lowest score was 50 and the highest score was 70. From six students with disability, no one passed Standard Minimum Criteria (KKM). Therefore, in the cycle 1, all students with disability passed Standard Minimum Criteria (KKM). The lowest score was 80 and the highest score was 100.[Penelitian ini berasal dari kelemahan kosakata siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Peneliti ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dikelas integrasi untuk meningkatkan kosakata siswa berkebutuhan khusus dikelas dua SMP Diponegoro, Junrejo, Batu tahun ajaran 2017/2018 dengan  menggunanakan flashcards. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti berperan menjadi guru sementara itu guru bahasa Inggris menjadi relawan atau terapi untuk membantu, mengontrol dan mengatur kelas. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sebelum implementasi flashcrads, nilai seluruh siswa berkebutuhan kusus dibawah 75, dengan nilai terrendah adalah 50 dan nilai tertinggi adalah 70. Dari enam siswa berkebutuhan khussu, tidak siswa ada yang melewati Kriteria ketuntatas minimal (KKM). Oleh karena itu, pada siklus 1, semua siswa berkebutuhan khusus melewati kriteria ketuntasan minimal (KKM). Dengan nilai terrendah 80 dan nilai tertinggi adalah 100.]

Abstract-The purpose of this research is to increase cooperation among students through the role playing method on the students of class VIII-C Muhammadiyah 6 Junior High School Bandung academic year 2014/2015. This study uses a classroom action research approach. Subjects in this study were students in class VIII-C Muhammadiyah 6 Junior High School Bandung. of collecting data technique using Role Playing method and teacher achievement test. Action is done as much as 3 cycles, in one cycle done 2 times action. Data processing refers to qualitative procedures and changes in learning evaluation results before and after learning by using Role Playing method. The results showed: 1). The percentage of observation results of cooperation between friends on this 1st cycle has not been seen, because it is still within the range of "less" rating with the percentage of 38.1%. While the average learning achievement score of 74.5, although there is an increase but not showing the expected success rate because the acquisition of values above the minimum score only amounted to 9 people. 2). The result of student activity observation shows that the cooperation between students in cycle 2 is increased, and is in the range of "enough" assessment with the percentage of 68%, the average value obtained is 83.25, although there is improvement, indicating the expected success rate, there are students earning grades under the minimum score of 4 students. 3). The 3rd cycle shows a very high increase and is in the 'good' range with a percentage of 80% and an average value of 86.Keywords: cooperation, role playing

This research is based on the problem faced by the students such as: difficulty inunderstanding the generic structures of descriptive text and the difficulties in developingparagraph. The purpose of this research was to improve the students’ writing skill by usingNeuro Linguistics Programming (NLP) strategy at VIII grade of SMPN 11 Mandau Duri. Theresearch design was Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisted of two cycles. The datawere collected by using test, field note, observation sheet, and interview. Then, the datacollected were analyzed by using scoring rubric of writing descriptive text. The result showedthat students’ ability in writing descriptive text could be improved. It could be seen frombased score of students writing skill was 38 (failed) improve to 51 (failed) in cycle 1 to 70(Pass) in cycle II. It was caused by some factors, those were the teacher gave motivation,created enjoyfull experience, comfortable class and used various media. In conclusion, theuse of NLP strategy has many beneficial.

<p><em>This research was classroom action research. Classroom action research was a research that was conducted by a teacher in order to find out solutions of any problems found during teaching and learning process. In this research, it was done to explain whether by using an outline technique could improve the students’ writing paragraph and also to investigate some factors that influenced the students in writing descriptive paragraph. This research was done at grade VIII B of SMP Negeri 6 Sungai Penuh in academic year 2017/2018. From the result of the test in this research, the result was increased in cycle and two. In cycle one, the mean score was 58.25% and it increased to 76.87%, it increased 18.63% point. It meant that teaching writing through outline improved the students’ writing skill. The improvements were also improved on the result of each sub-indicators of writing test between cycle 1 and 2. </em></p>

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatan hasil belajar mahasiswa tingkat I PGSD STKIP Santu Paulus Ruteng melalui pendekatan taktik bermain. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Research) yang terdiri atas dua siklus, menggunakan desain Kemmis & MC. Taggart. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan taktik bermain yang di padukan dengan permainan lempar tangkap bola dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan minat sepak bola mahasiswa kelas IF PGSD STKIP Santu Paulus Ruteng. Berdasarkan data hasil tes pada siklus I rata-rata nilai mahasiswa secara klaksikal megalami peningkatan yaitu terlihat dari pratindakan 30 orang (50,84%) naik menjadi 39 orang (67%) pada siklus I dan pada siklus II menjadi 45 orang (76%) yang tuntas/lulus dengan mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimum yaitu 60. Kata kunci: hasil belajar, sepak bola, pendekatan taktik bermain   AN EFFORT TO INCREASE THE STUDENTS’ QUALITY AT PGSD OF STKIP ST. PAUL RUTENG IN PLAYING FOOTBALL THROUGH THE TACTICAL APROACH Abstract This research aims to seek the increasing result of the students’ learning process in the first grade at PGSD (Elementary School Teacher Education) of STKIP St. Paul Ruteng through the tactical games approach. This research is a kind of Classroom Action Research which consists of two cycles by using Kemmis & MC. Taggart’s design. The research result shows that the tactical games approach which is combined with throwing-catching of ball play can increase the learning result and the interest in playing football for the 1F-class students at PGSD of STKIP St. Paul Ruteng.  Based on the test result at first cycle, the average score of the students, is increasing classically which is shown by pre-action, namely 30 students (50.84%) becoming 39 students (67%) at first cycle, and then at second cycle it has been 45 students (76%) who have graduated/passed by reaching the minimum score criteria namely 60. The purpose of this research is to find does the animation movies can improve students’ skill and ability in writing narrative text at SMP Swasta TD Pardede Foundation at VII grade in academic year2018/2019. In this research, the researchers used classroom action research and was conducted in two cycles. Each cycles consist of four steps, there are: planning, action, observing and reflecting. This research used quantitative and qualitative research to collect the data, researchers conduct tests. The tests are pre-test and post-test.The result showed that the teaching students’ skill in writing using video can improve students’ skill in writing narrative text. An increase in mean scores indicates that there is an increase in students’ skill.  The student’s pre-test score was 63.69; it increased to 72.50 in the first post-test up to 78.02 in the second post-test. From the result of the study, it can be concluded that teaching writing skill using animation videos can improve students’ writing skill. Keyword: narrative, animation movie
