This paper explores the development and delivery of a Masters course titled ‘Collaboration and E-Commerce’. The course examines a variety of issues relating to E-Commerce with the major focus being upon collaborative aspects of web-related business activities. The aim of the course is to lead students to engage in actual collaborative processes and so to provide them with practical experience to support the theoretical aspects of the subject. The paper outlines the issues behind the design of the learning structure that was used to promote both intra-group and inter-group collaborative action. Although the course is currently run in face-to-face mode with no web support it had to be designed in such a way that the learning structures and processes would translate to a web-enabled form for future operation.

There appears to be a continuing and inconclusive debate amongst scholars whether theoretical knowledge or practical experience is more important in related and associated areas such as education, recruitment and employability. This research, limited to a literature review and face to face interviews, conducted a systematic investigation to obtain and analyze valid and reliable research data to establish whether theoretical knowledge or practical experience are of paramount importance. The outcome of this research suggests that a hybrid approach should be adopted, with the major focus being on practical experience supported by relevant theoretical knowledge and not the converse. A number of additional recommendations are presented how to balance and close the gap between theory and practice including a redesign of ordinary and advanced level educational teaching. Far greater emphasis needs to be placed on young people gaining early practical experience inside and outside the classroom. This can be achieved by developing practical workshops (pilot studies) for use in safe laboratory-type environments and by extending work placements within organizations during term times.

This chapter addresses several issues and challenges that one faces when carrying out a real collaborative learning experience following a blended learning design that includes a mixture of face-to-face and online collaborative learning processes. The chapter presents an experience based on a blended course on “Collaborative Educational Systems”. This scenario employed a variety of collaborative strategies, methods and tools to support and enhance debate and information exchange among peers in order to complete a specific task: writing an essay collaboratively. Carrying out this task entails a preliminary study and analysis of the subject matter, which are also performed in a collaborative manner. The authors describe the educational scenario in detail, including the structure of the activities, the rules the groups were asked to apply and the procedures the students had to follow to accomplish the task. They finally analyze and evaluate this learning experience with a critical point of view as regards the collaboration strategies adopted, the way students built their own strategies combining the ones presented in the course, and the collaborative learning process and product.

Group analysis privileges the social and political, aiming to address individual distress and ‘disturbance’ within a representation of the context it developed and persists in. Reproducing the presence and impact of racism in groups comes easily while creating conditions for reparation can be complicated. This is despite considerable contributions to the subject of racism by group analysts. By focusing on an unconscious, defensive manoeuvre I have observed in groups when black people describe racism in their lives, I hope to build upon the existing body of work. I will discuss the manoeuvre which I call the white mirror. I aim to theoretically elucidate the white mirror. I will argue that it can be understood as a vestigial trauma response with roots as far back as the invention of ‘race’. Through racialized sedimentation in the social unconscious, it has been generationally transmitted into the present day. It emerges in an exacerbated way within the amplified space of analytic groups when there is ethnically-diverse membership. I argue it is inevitable and even essential that racism emerges in groups as a manifestation of members’ racialized social unconscious including that of the conductor(s). This potentially offers opportunities for individual, group and societal reparation and healing. However, when narratives of racism are instead pushed to one side, regarded as a peripheral issue of concern only to minority black or other members of colour, I ask whether systems of segregation, ghettoization or colonization are replicated in analytic groups. This is the first of two articles about the white mirror. The second article which is also published in this issue highlights practice implications.

The subject of making an allowance for initial expenses in a net premium valuation is one which has long interested actuaries, and it is usually associated with the name of Zillmer who first wrote an article on it in 1863. The following note, based on practical experience of valuing a young and rapidly growing life fund, may be of interest to students. The normal method of making such an allowance is, in effect, to adjust the net premium used in the valuation by the equivalent of the initial expense allowance spread over the whole duration of the policy.

Recent interest in computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL) has prompted educators to incorporate communication tools into their courses. This article reports findings of students' use of two Web-based discussion forums across two semesters to supplement face-to- face instruction. By tracking the discussions, we discovered that when students initiated reflection and integration of perspectives, they did so through concessions and oppositions to the postings of their peers. Findings point to the importance of explicit scaffolding of conversations to encourage student sharing and evaluation of perspectives.

Lesson study is a development model for educators through sustainable and  collaborative learning. Lesson study was conducted in three phases, namely the plan, do, see phase, in which these phases were implemented in a structured, cyclical and continuous manner. In this study, the subject of lesson study implementation were four Physics pre- service conducted teaching practice in one of public junior high schools in Bondowoso. Results showed that lesson study implementation enhance these physics pre-service teachers teaching ability from poor to excellent.Keywords: Lesson Study, Pre-service Physics Teacher, Teaching AbilityABSTRAKLesson study merupakan suatu model pengembangan kemampuan mengajar melalui pengkajian pembelajaran secara kolaboratif dan berkelanjutan. Lesson study dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahapan, yaitu plan, do, see yang dilaksanakan secara terstruktur, bersiklus dan berkelanjutan. Dalam penelitian ini subjek dari pelaksanaan lesson study adalah empat orang  mahasiswa calon guru fisika yang sedang melaksanakan PPL di salah satu SMP Negeri di Bondowoso. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan lesson study dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mengajar mahasiswa calon guru fisika dari kriteria kurang baik menjadi kriteria sangat baik.Kata kunci: Calon guru fisika, Lesson Study, Kemampuan Mengajar

Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis penetapan harga jasa fotografi. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis deskriptif dengan melakukan wawancara tatap muka dengan subjek salah satu karyawan dan pemilik layanan jasa fotografi DP. Penelitian ini menghasilkan konsep penetapan harga teman pada jasa fotografi dengan ketentuan membantu mempromosikan layanan jasa tersebut menggunakan media sosial, hal tersebut dilakukan dengan maksud untuk mempertahankan dan menambah jumlah pelanggan. Berdasarkan konsep tersebut peneliti berargumen bahwa perbuatan tersebut dapat melanggar etika. Kata Kunci: Penetapan Harga; Akuntansi Keperilakuan; Inovasi; Strategi Penjualan   Abstract The purpose of this research is to analyze the pricing of photography sevices. Researchers used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods by conducting face-to-face interviews with the subject of one of the employees and the owner of DP photography service. The study produced the concept of friends-pricing on photography services with provisions  helping to promote those services using social media, this is dine with a view to maintaining and increasing the number of customers. В статье рассматривается методика применения технологий предметно-языкового интегративного обучения в русских школах за рубежом. Рассматривается и анализируется опыт интеграции предметных областей «Русский язык» и «Окружающий мир». Описываются практический опыт занятий по русскому языку с использованием образовательной платформы в русской школе «Николай Гоголь» в Италии и примеры практической методики обучения фонетике, грамматике, лексике, видам речевой дея-тельности. Выявлены преимущества и недостатки применения цифровых технологий для обучения русскому языку и на русском языке. The article discusses the methodology of applying technologies of subject-language integrative teaching in Russian schools abroad. The experience of integration of the subject areas «Russian language» and «The world around us» is considered and analyzed. The practical experience of classes in the Russian language using the educational platform at the Russian school «Nikolai Gogol» in Italy is described, examples of practical methods of teaching phonetics, grammar, vocabulary, communicative skills activity are described. The advantages and disadvantages of using digital technologies for teaching the Russian language and in Russian are revealed.


The aim of the article is to summarize theoretical principles and practical experience regarding the relationship between the investment attractiveness of innovative projects and economic growth. The methods of correlation and regression analysis, extrapolation and modeling are used. The subject of the study was the features and patterns of the formation, use and regulation of the policy for assessing the investment attractiveness of company’s innovative projects in modern economic conditions. In the course of the study, an algorithm was developed to assess the size and level of investment attractiveness of the algorithm is based on the allocation of components of the enterprise’s potential. It is indicated that models for evaluating efficiency and cost should take into account not only future cash flows, but also non-financial indicators. Are proposed the construction of a multivariate model based on regression analysis. The essence of this model is to combine the traditional method of correlation analysis with least squares. This approach has the main advantage - relatively high accuracy and low costs in the construction and forecasting. The proposed model of a system for ensuring the investment attractiveness of innovative projects of companies consists of two main subsystems - information-analytical and implementation-control. Online learning is a learning via internet without meeting face-to-face between teachers and students. This online learning system is relatively new, therefore teachers and students should adapt quickly. This study aims to determine the online Arabic learning system during the COVID-19 pandemic at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri (MTsN) 1 Surakarta. Researcher used a qualitative approach and observation, interview, and documentation as data collection techniques. The results described that e-learning madrasah was used as the main media for online Arabic learning at MTsN 1 Surakarta during the covid-19 pandemic, then assisted by Whatsapp and Youtube channel. The subject matter was presented in video, powerpoint, and pdf. The learning stages were divided into three: preparation, implementation (pre-activities, whilst-activities and post-activities), and evaluation stage. This online learning helps teachers to coordinate with and supervise students easily, on the other hand, it is difficult for them to monitor the students’ understanding and bad internet network make some students could not follow the learning process in time.
