The International Review of Law has always been a comprehensive scholarly platform for numerous legal studies, especially in terms of their visions and approaches, which reflect the cognitively disciplined and renewable legal thoughts. The International Review of Law reinforces the national law by being open to different legal systems regionally and internationally. The Review of Law serves as a stage for all readers with a passion for law. It has also updated its data on the DOAJ platform to reach the largest number of readers. The editorial board of the International Review of Law selected a number of research papers that respond to the standards of authentic and accurate scientific work in both Arabic and English. This issue contains nine high-quality scientific research, in addition to three book reviews. The first paper (Obeidat and Alfadel) evaluates “The Dominant Position and Its Impact on Competition within the Framework of Economic Concentration Processes – Analytical Study in the Jordanian and Qatari legislations.” While the second research paper (Al-Hababi) deals with the “Oppression versus Prosecution in Asylum Cases Under International Law & Municipal Laws.” The third research paper (Lamchichi) focuses on the topic of “Laws with Constitutional Provisions in the Qatari Legislation – An Attempt to Define the Concept.” As for the fourth research paper (Ali); It is concerned with “The Civil Liability of Judicial Experts - A Comparative Study in Qatari and French Laws.” While the fifth research paper (Noh and Sheha) addresses the topic of “Administrative Jurisdiction in Asylum Matters – A Comparative Study between French and Qatari Laws.” The sixth research paper (Reziq) is interested in “Claiming against the Guarantor; Its Time and Scope – Analytical study within Light of the United Arabian Emirates Civil Transactions Law.” The seventh research paper (Al-Khaldi) sheds light on “The Civil Liability of Companies Producing Vaccines and Medicines for Coronavirus (Covid-19).” While the eighth research paper (All-laymoon) focuses on “The Constitutional Status of the Crown Prince in the Jordanian Constitutional System- An Applied Comparative Study with the Qatari and Kuwaiti Constitutional System.” The last research paper (Abu-Sharida) is in English. It answers the following question: “Why Harmful Posts on Social Media should be Regulated.” This issue is concluded by reviews of three books, which have been recently published by Qatar University Press. The first review (Almuhtady bellah), of the book titled: “Peaceful Settlement of International Disputes” by Ibrahim Al-Anani. The second review (Benlahcene), of the book titled: “Qatar and the Gulf Crisis” by Kristian Ulrichsen. The third review (al-Masry), of the book titled: “A Practical Guide to Upstream Petroleum Granting Instruments” by Peter Roberts. The editorial board thanks the distinguished researchers and arbitrators who contributed to this issue’s quality and scientific value, who strive to make the International Review of Law a platform for scientific knowledge that benefits the readers and researchers in various fields.

The research paper focuses on the morphological affixes in the two languages, Arabic and Hebrew and the impact of these affixes in the linguistic economy. The study aims at gaining knowledge of what linguistic economy achieved by morphological affixes which contribute in creating the rich meaning by little pronunciation as well as making a comparison between the two languages to know the language that is the most economic than the other and investigating the reasons behind this economy. The research is divided into three sections. The first one focuses on the morphological prefixes; the second one on the internal affixations; and the third one on morphological suffixes. The study concluded that there is a great similarity between the Hebrew and Arabic languages in many of the morphological affixations in addition to the simple differences between the two languages. An aspect of this difference is that the Hebrew language tends to borrow the affixations from the foreign languages more than the Arabic language.

This research article focuses on the theme of violence and its representation by the characters of the novel “This Savage Song” by Victoria Schwab. How violence is transmitted through genes to next generations and to what extent socio- psycho factors are involved in it, has also been discussed. Similarly, in what manner violent events and deeds by the parents affect the psychology of children and how it inculcates aggressive behaviour in their minds has been studied. What role is played by the parents in grooming the personality of children and ultimately their decisions to choose the right or wrong way has been argued. In the light of the theory of Judith Harris, this research paper highlights all the phenomena involved: How the social hierarchy controls the behaviour. In addition, the aggressive approach of the people in their lives has been analyzed in the light of the study of second theorist Thomas W Blume. As the novel is a unique representation of supernatural characters, the monsters, which are the products of some cruel deeds, this research paper brings out different dimensions of human sufferings with respect to these supernatural beings. Moreover, the researcher also discusses that, in what manner the curse of violence creates an inevitable vicious cycle of cruel monsters that makes the life of the characters turbulent and miserable.

The story of Lot is one of many shared by the Qur'an and the Torah, and Lot's offer of his two daughters to his people is presented in a similar way in the two books. This article compares the status of Lot in the Qur'an and Torah, and explores the moral dimensions of his character, and what scholars of the two religions make of this story. The significance of the episodes in which Lot offers his daughters to his people lies in the similarities and differences of the accounts given in the two books and the fact that, in both the past and the present, this story has presented moral problems and criticism has been leveled at Lot. Context is crucial in understanding this story, and exploration of the ways in which Lot and his people are presented is also useful in terms of comparative studies of the two scriptures. This article is divided into three sections: the first explores the depiction of Lot in the two texts, the second explores his moral limitations, and the third discusses the interpretations of various exegetes and scholars of the two books. Although there are similarities between the Qur'anic and Talmudic accounts of this episode, it is read differently by scholars from the two religions because of the different contexts of the respective accounts.

The purpose of this study is the analysis of limit situation in the narrative of war. The material of the study is the novel of Daniil Granin “My Lieutenant” and related texts. In the first part of the paper, the authors explore existing approaches to the term “limit situation” and similar concepts into scientific and philosophical traditions; limits of its applicability in literary studies and its relation to the categories of “narrative instances” and “event”. Proposed a literary-theoretical definition of the limit situation, which can be used in the analysis of fiction texts. Existing approaches to the examination of the situation of war are analyzed: philosophical-existential, psychoanalytic, sociological, literary. In the second part of the paper, the authors propose their method for analyzing limit situations in texts about war, which basis on existing approaches and preserves the text-centric principle of studying the structure of the story. Two interrelated areas of research have been identified: the study of war as a continuous limit situation in the intertextual aspect (the discourse of war); the study of limit situations (death, suffering, guilt, accident) in the narrative of war as part of a specific text. In the third part of the scientific work,the analysis of war as a continuous limit situation results in the study of the concept of “limit” (border) in a fiction text. The role of “limit” (border) concept in the texts about the war is studied, the possible types of limits in the discourse of war are examined. Limit situations in the narrative of war are analyzed on the basis of the novel “My Lieutenant” by Daniil Granin. A review of journalistic and scientific works about the novel revealed both the continuity and the differences between the novel and the “lieutenant” prose of the 20th century. An analysis of the limit situations in the novel revealed their key position in the narrative. These situations are independent of the fiction time, of the fluctuation of the point of view’; the function of the abstract author is to build the narrative as a “directive” immersion of the hero and narrator in these situations.

Summary Objective: To summarize significant contributions to sensor, signal, and imaging informatics published in 2016. Methods: We conducted an extensive search using PubMed® and Web of Science® to identify the scientific contributions published in 2016 that addressed sensors, signals, and imaging in medical informatics. The three section editors selected 15 candidate best papers by consensus. Each candidate article was reviewed by the section editors and at least two other external reviewers. The final selection of the six best papers was conducted by the editorial board of the Yearbook. Results: The selected papers of 2016 demonstrate the important scientific advances in management and analysis of sensor, signal, and imaging information. Conclusion: The growing volume of signal and imaging data provides exciting new challenges and opportunities for research in medical informatics. Evolving technologies provide faster and more effective approaches for pattern recognition and diagnostic evaluation. The papers selected here offer a small glimpse of the high-quality scientific work published in 2016 in the domain of sensor, signal, and imaging informatics.

The Prolific South African novelist, Nadine Gordimer’s The Pickup (2001) and the promising Afghan writer, Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner (2003) belong to New Literatures in English. The main characters in these two novels undertake their journey from their native place to foreign country in pursuit of happiness, place, prosperity and self-realization. This research explains the reporting style of two newspapers of similar news items. It is related to the headlines styles of reporting in print media. Print media plays very strong role in present era, it’s very important to know how media reveal same news in different point of views. This research paper investigates the news headlines through critical discourse analysis, of 2 daily Urdu newspapers correspondingly from First April to 7th April 2020. In this research paper COVID19 (Corona virus) news headlines were examine in two Urdu Newspapers Daily Jang newspaper and daily Express Newspaper. Newspapers of one week were examined for this research. The Daily Jang based in Karachi. Since 1939 is the oldest newspaper of Pakistan and continuously in publication. The Daily Jang newspaper is published by the Jang Group of Newspapers. The Daily Express is one of Pakistan's most broadly circulated Urdu Newspapers. Through Critical Discourse Analysis it was analyzed that the headlines in both the newspapers have different style of text, meaning and ideology because Jang and Express Newspapers have much difference in polices and in ideology.
