This study is to investigate the effect of human capital, labor domicile, gender, and working hours on the productivity of MSME workers in South Sumatra. The data used are primary data, data collection with a purposive sample approach as many as 196 samples as workers in SMEs. This study applies a logistic regression approach. The findings of this study indicate that independent tests, human capital, labor domicile, gender, and working hours have a significant relationship to labor productivity. Likewise, jointly the predictor variables such as junior high school, Local workers, male, and working hours of more than seven hours have the opportunity to get higher productivity than other categories in SMEs.

Examines the extent of low pay in Britain, first by estimating a Lorenz curve and, second, by using a logistic regression approach. Low pay is defined in terms of the first three deciles of the income distribution for all workers. The data are taken from the 1986 Social and Economic Life Survey of 6,110 individuals in six local labour markets using a matched employer‐employee sample. Gender is the most important variable but women, as men, can improve their relative positions by acquiring human capital. Variables inducing upward mobility are much the same – regardless of position in the wage structure.

The paper examined the elusive factors influencing share value in the Nigeria oil and gas industry with the aim of determining their effect and the extent to which they influenced share value. A simple random technique was used to select three of the six listed oil and gas companies on the Nigeria stock exchange. A stratified random technique was then used to select respondent in the functional department across the selected oil and gas industry. Both secondary and primary data were involved in the study. Stepwise regression analysis was used to capture the relative contribution and effect of the factors on share value. The results exhibit a strong relationship between the oil and gas industry market value and the elusive factors -Innovation, human capital, and supply chain management. Innovation was indentified to be the major driving force adding value to the Nigerian oil and gas industry, followed by human capital development and supply chain management.

This study uses primary data taken directly to the object of research in the form of productivity data generated by the workforce, the level of wages obtained, hours worked, and work experience owned by the workforce and also the level of education owned by the workforce. To estimate the factors that affect labor productivity, the analysis model used is ordinary least square (OLS) regression analysis. The results showed that the wage variable had a positive and significant effect on labor productivity in the Eve Bakery donat business with a coefficient of 1.1628 = 5%. Regression coefficient of 1.1628, meaning that if there is an increase in the wage level of 1% it will increase labor productivity by 1.1628. Work hours variable has a positive effect on labor productivity by 0.6784, which means that if working hours increase by 1%, the level of labor productivity will increase by 0.6784%. The work experience variable also has a positive effect on labor productivity by 0.1255, which means that if this workforce experience increases by 1% it will increase the level of labor productivity by 0.1255%.

Keywords: Productivity, Workforce, Wages, Experience ABSTRAK

Climate variability is a global phenomenon and its effects on agricultural productivity have been experienced by developing countries drastically. Climate differences such as high temperatures, drought and long seasons have led to a loss in food production through crop failure, water stress, and human disease outbreak. Therefore, this paper aims to investigate factors influencing farmers’ awareness and choice of adaptation strategies to climate variability by smallholder crop farmers in Libode, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. Primary data were purposively collected from 120 smallholder crop farmers. Binary logistic regression was used to estimate factors influencing farmers’ awareness while Multinomial logistic regression was used to estimate the choice of adaptation strategies employed by crop farmers. Results showed that farmers have perceived climate change and have adapted to changing climatic conditions. The empirical results have showed that socio-economic factors such as years spent in school, land size, farm experience, and extension services affect farmers' awareness positively while age has a negative influence. Few farmers have adjusted their farming practices to account for the effects of climate change. Thus, the study identifies crop diversification and agroforestry as being the most promising strategies with benefits for farmers, the environment and future generations. The government should develop policies aimed at providing and enhancing farmers’ knowledge on climate change. Farmers are encouraged to form farm organizations and be active as to serve as a platform to share knowledge on indigenous and technological farming practices for effective climate change adaptation.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of PKH on Beneficiary Families (KPM) households work incentives that can be seen from the reduction in household hours worked. This type of data used is primary data obtained through an individual survei of 100 Beneficiary Families (KPM) in Bulakamba District, Brebes Regency. The analytical method used in this study is binary logistic regression. The results of the study on the overall of Beneficiary Families (KPM) household scopes showed that the variable proportion of PKH assistance, the proportion of household income significantly influence the reduction in the number of working hours of Beneficiary Families (KPM) households in Bulakamba District. The reduction in household working hours is concentrated or dominated by the decrease of wife's working hours. While the reduction in working hours of the head of the family does not have a big role in reducing household work hours. This shows that the wife's working hours are more responsive than the head of thefamily's working hours when there is a social assistance provided.

The purpose of this research was to determine the variability of fishermen's incomes by looking at the effect of fishermen's experience, fishermen's education, and fisherman's working hours on income. The population of this research is fishermen in East Belitung Regency with a sample of 181 people and Central Bangka Regency as many as 57 people. The method is carried out through quantitative analysis using path analysis, with primary data in the form of interviews and questionnaires to fishermen. The results showed that the variables of fishermen's experience and working hours had a significant effect on the variability of fishermen's income, as evidenced by the probability of significance at 0,000 (below 0.05) and F-count, t-count is greater than F-table, t-table. While education is not a factor of variability in fishermen's income because the results of the F-count, t-count is smaller than the F-table, t-table. Future research should measure the variability of fishermen's incomes using variables of the level of fish production, the amount of credit or debit, side income, and poverty of fishermen, using Micmac and Mactor method.
