Kata Kunci : kemampuan pemecahan masalah, pendekatan saintifik, anak usia dini This study aimed to examined the influences of scientific approach for early childhood problem-solving skills. This research uses quasi experiment design with non equivalent control group design. The population used in this study is the whole group B in Gugus VI Singaraja kindergarten amounted in 387 early childhood. The sample used in this research is RA RA Ath-Thooriq Singaraja with 20 students as experiment group and TK Aisiyah Bustanul Athfal Singaraja with 20 students as control group. Data was collected by using observation and documentation. From normality test result and homogeneity of variance, it is known that sample is normal distribution, and variant of population is homogeneous hence to test hypothesis used t-test with 5% significance level. Result of t-test calculation found that the result of tcount = 2,394 and ttable = 2.024 at 5% significance level with dk = 38, thus tcount with ttable can be concluded that thitung> ttable, then H0 rejected and Ha accepted, from result of this research can it is concluded that there is a significant influence of scientific approach to problem solving skills in group B in Kindergarten.keyword : problem solving skills, scientific approach, early childhood

Learning the Quran and Hadith is one of the subjects given at Madrasah Tsanawiyah. Ideally, this learning effectively achieves the goals of National education, especially those related to understanding the main points of Islamic teachings and the proper way of practicing them in everyday life. Preliminary studies indicate that learning the Quran and Hadith is still not able to achieve the goals or ideals outlined by the curriculum. The Quran and Hadith material still dominantly emphasizes memorization/knowledge and is still far from solving problems (problem-solving skills). This study aims to develop learning the Quran and Hadith to instill the values of social care and become learning that challenges students' intellect and curiosity. The method used in this research is Research and Development, which steps in the form of a Preliminary Study, Development, and Product Testing. The development of the Social Inquiry model in learning the Quran and Hadith is significantly proven to be able to the teacher's social inquiry stating that in implementing learning, developing student creativity increases in learning. It can be interpreted that learning the Quran and Hadith based on social inquiry is practical to be implemented.

This paper reports on the play behaviours of preschoolers aged 49–64 months. The study was conducted in four Sydney preschools, with children being observed during their outdoor free play. Most participants engaged in a variety of play behaviours, many of which have been linked with cognitive development in previous research (constructive play, sociodramatic play, associative social play). However, thematic pretend play, which has been found to have an important role in many areas of development, including perspective taking, language, impulse control and divergent problem solving, was part of the play repertoire of only 20% of children observed. Likewise, only 24% of children engaged in cooperative social play, which has been found to have a role in the development of divergent problem solving skills. It is argued that staff working within early childhood programs may benefit from training in the use of programs designed to assist young children in the development of play skills.

The background of this study is the fact that there are still many teachers who have not yet independently developed students’ worksheet. Whereas, it is a must for teachers to be able to develop students’ worksheet independently because students’ worksheet must be developed based on not only curriculum but also the level of students' ability and the condition of learning environment which are known only by teachers. This study aims to describe the feasibility of scientific approach-based students’ worksheet to improve four graders’ problem solving skills on surrounding environment issues. In detail, the objectives of this study are classified into three, which are: (1) To describe the validity of scientific approach-based students’ worksheet to improve four graders’ problem solving skills on surrounding environment issues, (2) To describe the practicality of the use of scientific approach-based students’ worksheet to improve four graders’ problem solving skills on surrounding environment issues, (3) To describe the effectiveness of the use of scientific approach-based students’ worksheet to improve four graders’ problem solving skills on surrounding environment issues. This study was conducted using Research and Development (R&D) method which produces scientific approach-based students’ worksheet. The design of this study is pretest-post test control group design. The instrument used in this study were observation sheet, test, questionnaire and validation. The data was analyzed using quantitative analysis technique with statistical formulas and qualitative analysis technique with description. The results of this study indicate that the created scientific approach-based students’ worksheet is feasible to use in teaching and learning activities. The validation results warranted that this students’ worksheet is feasible to be implemented in teaching and learning with little revision with a percentage of 96.3%. Practicality of this students’ worksheet based on learning practice showed excellent result. This was evidenced by the activity of students as the active users of this worksheet was very active with the percentage of 87%, especially in terms of understanding problem and conducting evaluation. This scientific approach based students’ worksheet can be used to teach and improve students’ problem solving skills on surrounding environment in the fourth grade of Elementary School. This case is proved by good performance of students in solving problems related to their surrounding environment with a percentage of 81% which shows very high category.

Abstract: Biology learning must utilize technology and direct students to have problem solving skills, so that learning innovations are blended-problem based learning. This study aims to look at the effectiveness of blended-problem based learning on problem solving, when compared to learning that applies the scientific approach (5M). This study categorized as quasi-experimental research, using the design of the pretest-posttest control group. The independent t-test obtained the sig value. 0.00 <0.05, so that it can be interpreted that the posttest value of the executive class and control is significantly different. N-Gain score testing was obtained from the 0.70 high category experimental class, while 0.298 for the low category control class. Based on these data, blended-problem based learning can be said to be effective against solving ecological chapter problems.
