This article discusses the relationship between a consumer lifestyle and the environment. The willingness to adapt to a sustainable lifestyle was tested through a questionnaire among students of Mendel University in Brno, who are theoretically well-informed people. Overall, 417 students answered, i.e., 19% of the respondents. The students generally recognised the need to address environmental issues, and 90.6% intended to change their lifestyle in this direction. Among the barriers, they mentioned in particular lack of time, lack of financial resources, lack of specific information and insufficient conditions. Addressing this issue requires close co-operation in education between governmental and non-governmental organisations in both the public and private sectors. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the situation in that it has drawn attention to the response of local companies to the global problem.

AbstractHydraulic fracturing (‘fracking’), like other complex social and environmental issues, is a controversy about science which raises educational questions about how best to prepare young people to understand, respond to and, where necessary, act (or not) in response. It raises political questions. We present a state-of-the-art review of research literature on fracking and education using systematic strategies, with a view to finding out how it is framed in educational situations and how politics enters the science classroom. This serves as an illustrative case of how contested scientific and technological interventions with implications for the environment and society are treated in school science. The review is supplemented by interviews with 10 teachers of science and engineering working in schools or colleges near sites of operational exploratory fracking. We find that the research literature on teaching hydraulic fracturing is sparse, with only 25 studies relating to teaching and learning about fracking. Few studies (n = 7) relate to high school education. Where it features in science education, fracking is used as a context for interdisciplinarity and critical thinking, and lends itself to approaches using discussion, dialogue and modelling. Outcomes from fracking education range include knowledge gains and critical thinking. Teachers interviewed tended not to see a place for fracking in the curriculum or in the classroom and were averse to including politics in upper high school science education. Our analysis suggests depoliticization through absence of this specific complex environmental issue from the public (education) sphere, reinforced by the desire for ‘balance’ in high school science education and instrumental approaches to science education which prioritize assessed learning outcomes. Dealing with complex social and environmental issues such as hydraulic fracturing in the years of compulsory science schooling is necessary because scientific knowledge is necessary but not sufficient to prepare young people for the critical scientific literacy required to meet sustainable development goals. There is a need to assess and respond to the educational needs of local communities affected by industrial interventions such as fracking. These findings are likely to be relatable to other issues where there are local and global consequences of action or inaction and where the environment and health are pitted against economic and energy demands.

The discussion on coastal hotels' green products is usually one-sided, with a focus on supply or on demand. In this investigation, authors perceive the way both sides think concerning to green products and to what extent exists a correspondence. Supported in a quantitative study in a coastal hotel sample and in another qualitative and quantitative study on a sample of tourists, two models are tested. The results suggest that coastal hotel green strategies should be more market-centric than just complying with regulations. The tourist model permitted to perceive that tourists who are more sensitive to environmental issues are willing to pay more and recommend green hotels, but this relationship should be better understood by coastal hotel decision makers to align their green strategy and communication.

"This paper deals with “green fashion” in marketing. Young people are interested in eco production and are seeking “eco” brands, at least that's how they declare it. Fashion brands want to fulfil the wishes of their customers. But there is still one question: are companies´ promises and statements true or is it only marketing and greenwashing? We have tested their sustainability reports and statements here involves. The main goal of the paper is to evaluate whether the environmental discourse is having an effect on young consumers (young people from generation Z) and whether they behave ecologically or not. Additionally, we are interested in getting to know the customers’ attitudes towards “green fashion”. This study involves two analyses (both critical discourse analysis): (1) the environmental discourse of leading European fashion brands and (2) interviews with young consumers on their attitudes to, and buying behaviour of, fashion. Additionally, there also are implications for the fashion industry."

Continuous innovation keeps running the businesses. The rise in environmental issues and, in turn, the awareness growing around have led people at large to make purchase of their most needed products and fulfil their requirements, which adhere to environment-friendly norms. Because of the environmental concerns and legal constraints, several organizations are producing green products. There is a stiff competition among the brands to establish themselves as the environment friendly green products. The sustainability for these green products depends on many factors. The important among these are packaging and pricing. To influence the purchase behaviour of consumers and thereby attracting them to purchase green products, innovative ideas in marketing for the longer shelf life of such products are required. The pace at which the green products move out of the shelf impacts an organization’s bottom line, and it has a tandem effect on the environment protection. The article aims at examining the effect of marketing innovations on the longevity (agility) of green product market agility (GPMA). Examining the effect of marketing innovations involves two aspects, and we have kept both aspects parallel to each other. One aspect is to examine the effect of packaging, that is, marketing innovation on packaging (MIPA), and the other aspect is to examine the effect of pricing, that is, marketing innovation on pricing (MIPR), with consumer purchase behaviour acting as a mediator between MIPA and GPMA and consumer purchase intention acting as a mediator between MIPR and GPMA.

Promoting Education through the integration of Environmental Science and Art is a creative and innovative way to stimulate young people to learn Science and Art with pleasure. This study is based on the outcomes of an Educational Project implemented by Portuguese students from the D. Maria II School, V.N. Famalicão, Portugal. The project consisted in the implementation of several activities, exploring concepts related to 1) Science; 2) Art; and 3) Solidarity. The effectiveness of the project was assessed through student’s engagement, quality of interactions and resulting products. According students’ opinions, the experience of taking part in this project was exciting and help them to raise their understanding and interest about environmental issues. This study highlights the importance of taking advantage of art activities to teach and learn about environmental science.

Environmental sustainability must be considered as the main target of humanity. To achieve this goal, the activities of many people must change into pro-environmental behaviour. This is often difficult because it involves high costs, giving up some daily habits and getting out of an artificial comfort. In this sense, education has an essential role to play. Young people are the target group for which appropriate methods must be found to help raise awareness of environmental issues and their involvement in solving them. In the current situation, under the restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, practical applications with large groups of students and observation of the wild environment is difficult to achieve. In November 2020, the Department of Mechanical and Environmental Sciences within the Maritime University of Constanta organized online the activity “S.O.S. Nature” where different environmental processes have been highlighted through simulation programs. The event aimed to increase the awareness of young people about environmental pollution and its consequences, as well as stimulating transversal skills by high school students participating. The interest given by the large participation in this event and the knowledge gained in this activity underlined the importance of modelling and simulation as useful tools through whose comprehensive approach young people can understand complex environmental issues.

Human health is crucial for every human being with their right to utilize and opt for safe and healthy products. The main reasons for consumer awareness about the products they use in their daily life are health consciousness and environmental concern. The environment is affected due to several issues such as pollution etc. it has been the most the cause of concern for general public and as a result the concept of green environment and the green product has emerged in many countries. As far as Iraq is a concern this issue is at infancy level especially for new consumers, however, the growth in the demand for environmentally friendly products is an increasing trend. This paper aims to find out the purchase intention of consumers towards green products. For this purpose, the sample was selected from Salahaddin University Iraq. The sample size was 161 students from the university. The hypotheses were tested using Smart PLS 3 and the results for the inner and outer model were presented in the study. The results showed 10 significant hypotheses however it was limited to the sample of university students because it is supposed that university student is more focused towards their health as well as environment. Moreover, theoretically this study is limited to the theory of planned behavior. The study helps policymakers to formulate strategies to aware consumers regarding their health and environmental issues especially the students. The study also discusses the recommendations.

This article analyzes the concepts and role of environmental education of the population, and also discusses the problems of forming an ecological outlook among young people in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Solving global issues, including environmental protection, fighting the consequences of the environmental crisis, is comprehensive, including in the field of education. The solution to the vital environmental issues and problems faced by the world community is largely correlated with the prosperity of environmental education and the upbringing of the future generation. In this regard, the pedagogical and social aspects of environmental education and the education of young people is the main issue in the period of modernization in Kazakhstan. The problem of environmental education of young people should be regarded as a sovereign and self-valuable area of the educational development of the people’s personality. The characteristic features include understanding of the goals, objectives and detectors of the effectiveness of education, the orientation of educational interaction in solving global and local environmental issues, reinforcement of environmental education and practical activities of public non-governmental organizations.
