Primary school is a very strategic place for the prevention of dental and oral diseases. Delivering counseling material in learning oral health requires media. One of the media in dental and oral health education is through counseling using audio media. This audio media contains messages about dental health that are played at school every morning and can be exposed and heard every day so elementary school children can behave well in dental health. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of audio media outreach programs to the knowledge and level of dental and mouth hygiene of students at State Primary School 26 Kalimas Tengah, Kubu Raya Regency in 2019. This study was a quasi-experimental study with a Pre-Post observation research design. The samples of this study were 68 people which were class III, IV and V. The results showed the average rank of knowledge index before counseling with audio media was 8.928 and p was 0.020 (p<0.05) with index of dental and oral hygiene level was 0,00 and p of 0,000 (p<0.05). Meanwhile, after counseling with audio media was 9,500 and p of 0.020 (p<0.05) with a level of dental and oral hygiene of 35.00 and p of 0,000 (p<0,05). The conclusion of this study is counseling with audio media is more effective in increasing knowledge which can improve oral and dental hygiene

Among the respondents 54 (36%) were students of class III, 48 (32%) were students of class IV and 48 (32%) were students of class V. About 121 (80.66%) respondents gathered knowledge of hand hygiene from their parents. Regarding hand washing, 137 (91.33%) respondents washed their hands before meal. All the respondents washed their hands with soap after coming from toilet. Almost everyone 145 (96.67%) regularly cut their fingernails. This Study was carried out to evaluate the dental health condition in primary school going children (Class iii to class v) age group in 8 to 12 years, in the school named Mughda high school in Dhaka City. This cross sectional study was carried out during the month of July 2009. Data was collected by pre-set questionaire of 183 students. The following observations were made when the results were compared between: 1. Total Number of decaied, caries or missing teeth found in the children mouth involving only in Permanent teeth. 2. Total Number of decaied, caries or missing teeth found in the individuals mouth. involving only in deciduous teeth. From this analysis we found the actual statistical analysis of oral heath condition of the patients teeth in between the age of 8 to 12 years. And also impact of tooth brushing and contributing factors that results decay of the teeth and destruction of gingival tissue. INTRODUCTION: Malnutrition, among children can lead to various morbidities, and some of its consequences can be fatal. AIM: To assess Hygiene with Nutrition & Morbidity among school children in district Ambala, Haryana, India. MATERIALS AND METHOD: Data was collected through a health check-up program for primary school children studying in class I and class III (aged only between 6-9 years) using a pre-tested and pre-designed questionnaire, weighing scale, measuring tape and dental screening instruments. The investigators were duly standardized and concerned instruments were duly calibrated. No names and personal information was collected and before the student was sent for examination, his I-card was removed. Data cleaned and analyzed using SPSS version 22.0. Shapiro wilk-test for data normalcy revealed a parametric distribution of the data and hence, the student’s t-test and multiple logistic regression were applied. RESULTS: The study included 216 males and 106 females, and the maximum unfavourable score (unclean hands, feet and skin) was observed in 40.1% of the children. Difference between favourable and unfavourable scores with OHI-S ≤2 was found to be 65.3% (p=0.02) and maximum students (68.9%), reported having a good favourable OHI-S score (p=0.01). It was observed that maximum males (43.1%) and females (48.1%) belonged to the “Normal” category of BMI, while lesser females (6.7%) were overweight in comparison to their male counterparts. Multivariate logistic regression revealed that OHI-S scores were significantly associated with BMI status (p=0.05) of the children, indicating that children with higher BMI scores have a tendency to have “fair” and “poor” OHI-S scores. CONCLUSION: Based on the results, appropriate measures can be undertaken to ensure that schools as well as healthcare professionals undertake more stringent measures to educate parents, children as well as teachers regarding the relationship between poor oral health and increased BMI values.

Abstract Objective: To evaluate longitudinally the occlusal changes between the deciduous and early mixed dentition stages in Nigerian children. Materials and Methods: The occlusion of 145 3- to 5-year-old children was initially assessed at a popular pre-primary school center in Ibadan, Nigeria in October 2002, using the Foster and Hamilton criteria. The same group of children was followed up for reexamination in October 2006 in the primary school section of the center. Of 61 students who were located and reexamined, 54 (26 male and 28 female) qualified for the study. The molar relationship was assessed using Angle classification, and other occlusal features such as spacing, crowding, overbite, and overjet were also assessed. Descriptive statistics, chi-square test, as well as Pearson correlation coefficient, were applied as appropriate in the analysis of the data. Results: Of 32 subjects initially having a flush terminal relationship (Class 1), 22 (68.7%) resulted in a Class I molar relationship, seven (21.9%) had Class II, and three (9.4%) had asymmetric relationships. Mesial step (Class III) was formed initially in 18 and 11 (61.1%) resulted in Class I. A Class III developed in five (27.8%). Significant positive correlations were found for molar relationship, crowding, overbite, and overjet variables (P < .01) between the two periods of assessments, but all were below 0.7 value. Conclusions: Angle Class I molar relationship was favored by initial flush terminal plane and mesial step relationships in the deciduous dentition.
