Rational and intuitive decision style displayed positive effect and avoidant decision style displayed negative effect on transformational leadership style. Rational, intuitive, and dependent positively predicted transactional leadership style. Avoidant decision style displayed positive effect whereas rational and spontaneous decision style showed negative effect on laissez faire leadership style. Decision-making is one of the most important elements in the administration of any organization. In higher education, college is an institution, in which the principal is a prime person who makes decision. This article investigates the perception of college principal towards his decision Making style. Numerous studies in the area of Management and Leadership indicate that one’s decision making style (DMS) is reflective of one’s leadership style. Using the Decision Making Styles Inventory (DMSI) developed by Rowe and Boulgarides (1992), this paper attempts to explore and report the managerial DMS among 130 college principals in Kanyakumari District. The scores derived from Decision making inventory were categorized into four decision styles namely: Directive, Behavioral, Analytical and Conceptual. Results revealed that a majority of principals adopted a very dominant or dominant intensity level for Behavioral Decision Making Style.

The decision style of managers in applied settings were evaluated by raters. Two decision styles were identified, the socio-political and the data analytic. The consequences of these two decision styles were shown by evolving them in a cellular automata. The socio-political decision style produced unstable decisions. The data analytic decision style produced stable decisions.

It has often been said that the style of decision making is reflective of leadership style. Numerous studies in the field of management and leadership show that decision making style is a key factor contributing to the success of managers and organizational performance. In Kosovo, decision-making styles are conditioned by many factors. It should be noted that the most important factor in adequately matching the characteristics and knowledge of workers and the specifics required at work lies in the high number of unemployment. This often causes the workforce to perform work for which there is no professional training in the field. Also, from the research we found that there is a difference in the decision making style and the adaptation of the characteristics of work and employees between sectors. In general, the public sector tends to have more security for employees in the workplace, which drives them to look for other jobs, but the private sector shows more willingness to take risks. The difference also lies in the nature and activity of the work between the sectors studied. Often there are different approaches of employees and leaders between the banking sector or design organizations. Our study, which is based on empirical data, will present facts on decision-making styles, and factors that influence the determination or adaptation / non-adaptation of employees to the jobs in the sectors studied. Keywords: style, decision making, intuitive, alert, manager.

The independent independent variables in this study as many as 89 respondents are determined by using saturated samples. To know the influence of independent variable to dependent variable partially, used t test. While to know the effect of independent variable to dependent variable simultaneously, used F test. The assumption used in the validity test is if R-count> R-table item is declared valid. The R-arithmetic shown in the table above, from each item indicates that R-arithmetic> R- table so the item is declared valid. Based on the validity test of the instrument of Leadership Style, Work Motivation, and Competence on Employee Performance, all items are declared valid and reliability test results indicate that the instrument has high reliability. This means that the eligibility criteria of the Instrument of Leadership Style, Work Motivation, Competency and Employee Performance have met the criteria of good instrument requirements, that is valid and reliable. The result of regression analysis of Leadership Style obtained by tcount = 20,91 while ttable value = 1,988 tcount> ttable proved variable of Leadership Style influence to Employee Performance. Work Motivation regression analysis obtained tcount = 17.62 while the value ttable = 1.988 tcount> ttabel proven Motivational Work variables influence on Employee Performance. Regression analysis Competence obtained value tcount = - 06.85 while ttable =1.988 so thitung> ttable and proven variable Competence have a negative effect on Employee Performance.

Leadership style impacts on the manner and frequency of feedback transmission. However, communication challenges between superiors and subordinates originate from cultural differences, which undermine the usefulness of feedback. The study tested leadership style’s effect on self-efficacy through a moderated mediation approach, examined through the lens of the cross-cultural adaptation theory. Path analysis conducted on data from 281 foreign teachers in Chengdu, China, revealed that there is a positive effect of Chinese supervisors’ leadership styles on foreign teacher’s self-efficacy. Leadership style similarly has an influence on the nature of feedback. And the nature of feedback in turn mediates leadership style and self-efficacy. We establish in particular that transactional and transformational leadership styles, through the nature of feedback, influence self-efficacy of foreign teachers. Moreover, the association between the nature of feedback and self-efficacy is moderated by the perceived value of feedback. Employees’ perceptions are also found to be crucial in determining the value of feedback. It is thus imperative for supervisors and managers working with foreigners as subordinates to figure out when and how to provide valuable feedback. We conclude with suggested areas for further research.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the influence of supportive and directive leadership style on employee job satisfaction in commercial banks in Kenya. The study adopted positivism research philosophy to guide the study and limited itself to descriptive correlational research design to analyze and provide responses to the research questions. The research design was preferred because it allows description and comparison of characteristics of populations based on data collected from samples through questionnaires. The target population of the study was 15,030 employees in all the 43 commercial banks licensed to operate in Kenya as of June 2018. Using stratified sampling technique, the study drew a sample size of 386 employees reporting to middle level managers. Data was collected by means of a questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, which included factor analysis, correlational analysis, chi-square, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and regression analysis using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20 and Windows’ Microsoft excel programs. From the findings of multiple linear regression analysis, it was established that directive leadership style had a positive and significant relationship with employee job satisfaction, R2 = .228, F(1, 362) = 53.396, p < .05; β = .454, p < .05. The results from multiple linear regression analysis also showed that supportive leadership style positively and significantly predicted employee job satisfaction, R2 = .603, F(1, 366) = 278.269, p < .05; β = .716, p < .05. In addition, the study tested the moderating influence of environmental contingency factors and was confirmed that environmental contingency factors significantly moderated the relationship between path-goal leadership style and employee job satisfaction, R2=0.090, F(5,364) = 35.04, p < .05; β= 0.229, p<.05.The study makes a contribution to the literature of the influence of directive and supportive leadership styles from Kenyan commercial banks’ perspective and adds an impetus to employees, management and policymakers to address issues that are impeding employee job satisfaction. The future researchers should include all bank employees in their study to determine the influence of directive leadership style and supportive leadership style on employee job satisfaction.
