Purpose: Study the specific application effect of multi-dimensional and three-dimensional teaching in Geriatric Nursing teaching in the context of mass entrepreneurship and innovation. Methods: Respectively select 80 2015 nursing undergraduates and 80 2014 nursing undergraduates in our school as the research object of the experimental group and the control group. In terms of Geriatric Nursing teaching, nursing students in the control group adopt traditional classroom teaching methods to carry out, while students in the experimental group adopt multi-dimensional and three-dimensional teaching in the context of mass entrepreneurship and innovation. Then observe and compare the geriatric nursing knowledge scoring as well as theory and practice assessment results in the two groups taught with different methods. Results: It's obvious that the scoring of nursing students in the experimental group is higher than those in the control group in respect of geriatric nursing knowledge, and statistical significance exists in the between-group differences (P < 0.05). The nursing students in the experimental group perform obviously better than those in the control group in terms of the results of theory, practice and comprehensive assessment as well as total score, and statistical significance exists in the between-group differences (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Implementing Geriatric Nursing teaching for higher education nursing undergraduates with multi-dimensional and three-dimensional teaching in the context of mass entrepreneurship and innovation can remarkably improve nursing students' cognitive level in geriatric nursing as well as their mastery degree of theoretical, practical and comprehensive knowledge. Thus, the multi-dimensional and three-dimensional teaching mode in the context of mass entrepreneurship and innovation makes 80 2015 nursing undergraduates in our school direct beneficiaries, which could be popularized and applied in medical colleges.

 Purpose: to explore and discuss the effects of PAD Class Teaching Model on nursing students who are expected to enter undergraduate schools from junior colleges. Method: Randomly select 112 students from two classes (2016) who are expected to enter undergraduate schools from junior colleges in a medical school in Pingdingshan, and divide them into a control group and an experimental group using a method of cluster randomization. In the teaching process of “Nursing Psychology”, the control group and the experimental group respectively adopted the traditional teaching mode and the PAD class teaching mode. After the implementation of one semester, compare the nursing students’ learning attitudes change before and after the implementation. Results: The scores of the nursing students in the experimental group at the three latitudes of learning interests, learning habits, and professional cognition were significantly higher than those of the control group, and the differences have statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusions: PAD class teaching mode helps improve nursing students’ learning attitudes.

Wound dressing is a skill which must be able to be performed by all nurses. If the practical ability of a nurse is weak, it will affect the quality of patient care. The objective of this research is to study the effectiveness of the latex wound model for wound dressing training on wound dressing skills of the nursing student. The latex wound model is a device used in practice which is made from rubber. The samples are the 60 second-year nursing students. Simple random sampling was applied in the selection of samples to be an experimental group and a control group for 30 persons per group. The latex wound model was provided to the experimental group for wound dressing skill training at the dormitory for a seven day period. A personal data questionnaire, wet dressing skill evaluation form, and dry dressing skill evaluation form were used for data collection. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and Mann-Whitney U Test. The results indicated that: 1) the mean score of wet dressing skill and dry dressing skill after the intervention were significantly higher than before the intervention (p < .05); 2) the mean score of wet dressing skill and dry dressing skill of the experimental group were higher than that of the control group, who was given the explanation of research procedures and the use of latex wound model, at statistical significance (p < .05). The findings imply that the use of the latex wound model for wound dressing training could enhance the wound dressing practical skill of the nursing students.

Purpose: The study aims to assess the performance and compare the effectiveness of intramuscular injection skills of nursing students utilizing two different teaching strategies –traditional (with the use of performance checklist only) versus video (together with the performance checklist). Methodology: A quasi-experimental research design was used. The sample was divided into two groups - control group, 28 female nursing students and experimental group, 27 male nursing students. Socio-demographic data sheet and an observational checklist were used to collect pertinent data.. Analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and analytical tests, such as the independent t-test between the experimental and control group, regarding the preparation and injection of medication. P value of < 0.05 was considered to be significant.   Findings:  Most of the experimental and control group subjects are non-Kuwaitis. In medication preparation, the experimental group showed higher scores in the following steps: mixing solution; withdrawing prescribed amount of medication. The control group, on the other hand, scored higher in the following steps: removing needle cap, withdrawing into syringe amount of air equal to volume of medication to be withdrawn; carefully inserting needle into upright vial; and withdrawing prescribed amount of medication. In medication administration, the control group obtained higher scores in putting on clean gloves and applying gentle pressure at the site. The experimental group had higher score only in putting on clean gloves. A highly significant positive correlation was found between medication preparation and injection of medication and socio-demographic parameters of age and nationality (p= 0.008, p= 0.007) respectively.  There is no statistically significant correlation detected between control and experimental group in relation to injection of the medication.  Unique Contribution to Theory and Practice: The results of this study indicated that while traditional and video-assisted teaching are equally effective, there is no substitute for clinical demonstration.

Abstract Background Nurses are presumably the first to see an in-hospital cardiac arrest patient. This study proposed measuring nursing students’ knowledge, self-efficacy, and skills performance in advanced life support (ALS), 6 months after training, by sending videos taken during their final skills test after the ALS training. Methods This is an experimental study using a randomised control group design. This study was conducted from June to December 2018, and the subjects of the study were 4th year students, recruited through a bulletin board at a nursing university. The participants’ knowledge, self-efficacy, and skill performance in ALS were evaluated immediately after the training, and participants were videotaped during the final skills test. Thereafter, the videos were sent to the experimental group through a mobile phone messenger application, once a month, from the third month after training. Approximately six months after training day, a follow-up test was conducted for the measured variables using a blinded method. The paired t-test and Wilcoxon signed-rank test were used to compare the two groups pre-and post-intervention. The statistical significance level was set at p < .05. Results Six months after the ALS training, knowledge scores decreased significantly in both groups (p < 0.001). Self-efficacy decreased by about 3 points from 50.55 to 47.18 in the experimental group (p = 0.089), while it decreased by 10 points in the control group, from 50.67 to 39 (p < 0.001). The skills performance decreased from 27.5 to 26.68 in the experimental group, while it decreased significantly from 27.95 to 16.9 in the control group (p < 0.001). Conclusion Self-study with videos taken during an ALS skills test helps enhance the sustainable effects of training such as knowledge, self-efficacy, and skills performance.

Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effects of simulation-based education on nursing knowledge, anxiety, and clinical performance ability in nursing students before their first clinical practice. Methods: Third-year university students who had not yet entered their first clinical practice were recruited to participate in the study. Nineteen students formed the experimental group and participated in simulation-based education for 7 sessions. The 19 students in the control group were provided with clinical practice orientation in the form of traditional lectures. Outcome measures assessed nursing knowledge, clinical practice anxiety, and clinical performance ability. Data were collected before and immediately after the simulation-based education and after six weeks of clinical practice. Results: Nursing knowledge and clinical anxiety were not statistically significant between the groups. However, there was a significant improvement in the clinical performance abilities of the experimental group. Among the subcategories, the ability to apply the nursing process and the ability to educate and cooperate were shown to maintain significant differences from the control group by the end of the six weeks of clinical practice. Conclusion: The simulation prior to nursing students' first clinical practice could be useful to improve clinical performance ability. Nursing educators should consider building programs to reduce anxiety and improve performance ability through simulations.

Aim: In this work, it is aimed that examining the effects of target-oriented circular training on biomotoric features by using a tennis ball throwing machine at 12-14 age tennis performance sportsmen for ten weeks. Method: This research was implemented on sixteen active licensed athletes who played tennis for at least four years in Ankara. The athletes were randomly divided into two separate groups as the experimental group (n=8) and the control group (n=8). After measuring the height, weight, and fat rate of the athletes, biometric tests were started. Flamingo balance, sit-reach, reaction time, five meters and twenty meters sprints, T-test, and standing long jump tests were performed, respectively. Athletes were get heated for ten minutes before the tests and they were given a trying chance. The best scores were recorded by repeating each test twice. In the statistical analysis of the collected data, IBM SPSS 19 package program was used. In repeated measurements, the results were compared by two-way ANOVA with intergroup, intragroup and post-training data. Results: As a result, between the experimental group and control group data; on averages of T-Test (p<0.139), visual reaction (p<0.001), Flexibility (p<0.024), Vertical Jump (p<0.022), Flamingo Balance right foot (p<0.046) and left foot (p<0.045) statistical significance was confirmed. ABSTRACT Objective: To evaluate and compare the perception of stressors by nursing students before and after a high-fidelity clinical simulation or conventional laboratory practice class. Method: This is a randomized clinical trial conducted with 52 nursing students. Both groups had theoretical classes about cardiothoracic physical examination, followed by practice class in skill laboratory. In addition, the experimental group took part in a high-fidelity simulation scenario. Stressors were evaluated before and after class, with the application of KEZKAK questionnaire. Results: The experimental group was significantly more worried about six factors related to lack of competence and to interpersonal relationships (p < 0.05), while the control group was significantly more worried about being in contact with suffering (p = 0.0315). Conclusion: The simulation affects students’ perception of stressors and promotes their self-evaluation and critical thinking regarding the responsibility that comes with their learning.

Abstract the aim of our study was to evaluate influence of probiotic agents (Lactovita) and seaweed extracts (Biopolym) with antidiarrheal effects on the prevention of diarrhoea in calves. In the experiment 22 experimental and 22 control calves were observed. The results of the observed incidence of diarrhoea in the control and experimental groups showed a positive effect of probiotic Lactovita and seaweed extracts Biopolymer. 32% of calves in the experimental group and 45% of calves in the control group became sick. Unfortunately, we could not demonstrate the statistical significance of these differences. The weight gains found in the 4th week after birth were by 37.6% higher in the group with Lactovita and Biopolym than in the control group.

The study aims at evaluating health-generating function of humor therapy in a hospital ward hosting children suffering from respiratory pathologies. The main scope of this study is to investigate possible positive effects of the presence of a clown on both the clinical evolution of the on-going disease, and on some physiological and pain parameters. Forty-three children with respiratory pathologies participated in the study: 21 of them belonged to the experimental group (EG) and 22 children to the control group (CG). During their hospitalization, the children of the EG interacted with two clowns who were experienced in the field of pediatric intervention. All participants were evaluated with respect to clinical progress and to a series of physiological and pain measures both before and after the clown interaction. When compared with the CG, EG children showed an earlier disappearance of the pathological symptoms. Moreover, the interaction of the clown with the children led to a statistically significant lowering of diastolic blood pressure, respiratory frequency and temperature in the EG as compared with the control group. The other two parameters of systolic pressure and heart frequency yielded results in the same direction, without reaching statistical significance. A similar health-inducing effect of clown presence was observed on pain parameters, both by self evaluation and assessment by nurses. Taken together, our data indicate that the presence of clowns in the ward has a possible health-inducing effect. Thus, humor can be seen as an easy-to-use, inexpensive and natural therapeutic modality to be used within different therapeutic settings.

Purpose: This study describes the development and implementation of a mechanical ventilation education program with a blended learning method for nursing students.Methods: Sixty-five nursing students were recruited either to the experimental group (n=33) or to the control group (n=32) in May 2020. This program was developed based on the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation model. The analysis phase consisted of a literature review, expert consultations, and target group survey. In addition, learning objectives and a structure were designed, and an online program was developed. In the implementation phase, the program was conducted over the course of 2 weeks. The evaluation phase involved verification of the effects of the program on knowledge of mechanical ventilation, self-confidence, and ventilator nursing skills performance, as well as an assessment of satisfaction with the program.Results: The experimental group had significantly higher scores on knowledge of mechanical ventilation (t=4.29, p<.001), self-confidence (t=2.31, p=.024), and ventilator nursing skills performance (t=4.65, p<.001) than the control group.Conclusion: The results indicate that this mechanical ventilation education program with blended learning was effective in meeting the needs of nursing students and can be widely used in this context.
