The PD. Tabulik furniture industry is one of the furniture industries that is believed to be superior in global competition. Therefore, strategic policies related to the optimal marketing chain are needed in maintaining business sustainability amid market competition. Consequently, the research aims to analyze the marketing chain of furniture industry products. The research method uses survey methods and in-depth interviews with all marketing channel components and the marketing chain analysis of the research object's outcome. The results show that the marketing chain is used by PD. Tabulik is a short marketing channel model that is direct producers to end consumers and is still limited in the Maluku region. The products' marketing chain gets shorter and shorter, so the final consumer is not charged with the purchase cost. But PD.Tabulik needs to fix the marketing chain management and marketing mix efficiently and optimally.

A study was conducted to investigate marketing channel and value chain of two commercially important marine fish species in Cox’s Bazar area, Bangladesh, namely, Bombay duck Harpodon nehereus and Ribbon fish, Trichiurus haumela. Three types of markets were found in the study namely primary, secondary and retail markets. The number of sample fishermen and intermediaries were 120. About 4 to 5 intermediaries were found to be involved in the each marketing chain and this group is believed to make huge profit, thus the prices of fishes were very high in the final consumer market. Marketing margin for fresh Bombay duck and ribbon fish were 29% and 28% and dried Bombay duck and dried ribbon fish were 35% and 19% of consumer purchase price, respectively. Poor transport facilities and huge number of intermediaries in the marketing channels were the main problems of marine fish marketing channel. Government intervention in the marketing channel is necessary for sustainable fish marketing systems.Progressive Agriculture 27 (2): 222-227, 2016

This article describes how fresh fruit bunches grown by oil palm smallholders are incorporated into oil palm marketing models in Indonesia. This emotional network marketing model is a supplementary model of marketing models in Malaysia which is called factory centered and middleman model. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method. The data was collected by conducted in-depth interviews with 28 informants coming from 4 (four) categories of oil palm smallholders: oil palm tauke (middleman) that included big tauke and small tauke, workers in the loading ramps, and workers in the oil palm factories who were involved in oil palm marketing channels. The result of the research showed that the oil palm marketing channel between smallholders and either small tauke and big tauke was based on an emotional network with a strong bond of friendship, brotherhood, dwelling location, cash payment, giving loan with reasonable requirements, and providing transportation for fresh fruit bunches. In contrast, oil palm marketing channel among smallholders, loading ramp buyers, and POF was based on regulations. This writing presented a different perspective of oil palm marketing channels in general by involving the emotional network of the existing actors for getting fresh fruit bunches and the advantages of oil palm marketing. In this marketing model, there is a longer marketing channel and actors with their varied roles.

AbstractHaving a role as the 'backbone' of the Indonesian economy, SMEs growth has decreased from year to year. One of them occurred at Badii Farm which experienced a decrease in sales volume due to the absence of an integrated marketing channel model. This study iaims to determine the integrated marketing channel system and the value network of Badii farm as an SME in increasing sales volume. This study is a qualitative descriptive study involving purposive sampling and using interview, observation and documentation instruments. The result shows that Badii Farm directly sells its products to customers so that there are no other alternative channels to distribute the products. Such a system runs almost in the majority of similar SMEs. Therefore, opening other marketing channels is necessary in order to increase sales volume and alternative markets. Some alternatives that can be used as other marketing channels is a wholesaler. Badii Farm is suggested to start breeding cattle for later distributed to other wholesalers so that the product is not glued to adult cattle and retailers where Badii Farm can have other market bags. Keywords: integrated-marketing channel; sales volume; small-medium enterpriseAbstrakMemiliki peran sebagai ‘tulang punggung’ perekonomian Indonesia, pertumbuhan UMKM mengalami penurunan dari tahun ke tahun.

Although dining tables and chairs function as the main furniture stereotypes valued for hosting in traditional Turkish households, this practice has been subject to changes and challenges in contemporary urban life in Istanbul. This qualitative study of dining furniture brings insights into the design, production, purchase and use of furnishings from a broad review of literature and from semi-structured in-depth interviews undertaken in the homes of young urban professionals in Istanbul between the years 2013 and 2016. Prescribed as indispensable stereotypes in the furniture retail stores and considered as essential domestic units by the interviewees, dining tables and chairs are found out as not fulfilling their intended hosting functions efficiently or being often replaced by centre tables or coffee tables, because of an increase in casual rather than formal occasions. Domestication of the dining table as an open buffet was considered a practical way to help hold the food and drinks that were also on couches and coffee tables. In addition, the dining table was used for completely different functions unrelated to eating, as study desks or as surfaces for folding and ironing laundry, whereas dining chairs were used as places to drape coats or clothing. Interrogating the disconnect between the consumption and use context of the dining suites yields deeper discussion about the level of intellectual capital of Turkish furniture industry and the consumer culture which advices the enactment of norms. Insights in these complex, changing and sometimes contradictory patterns may influence the design of domestic furnishings in Turkey. Therefore, more user-based design research and a further examination of contemporary patterns of use in urban households are needed to activate this potential for the Turkish furniture design industry.

A patent pool strategy was proposed for use in the electric vehicle cell industry to manage patent licensing disputes and litigation. How to promote EV cell innovation diffusion under a patent pool scenario is unclear. We introduced an innovation diffusion channel model comprising different players with patent licensing relationships and market competition relationships following evolutionary game analysis and simulation. We found the interlinked factors that influenced evolutionary stable strategies with a sensitivity test on all factors to identify the important and unimportant factors. To achieve the maximum return for the players, an optimization algorithm was introduced to find the maximum weighted object function. The decision and policy makers could focus on important factors such as improving the technology’s competitive advantages, delivering more profits to its licensees with reasonable licensing fees, and finding the best patent pool strategy with the support of the optimization algorithm to balance the competition relationships and patent licensing relationships between players.
