Therefore, for this study writer used quasi-experimental design as the method. The population was 158 and for sample 58 students, a sample of this study used purposive sampling. In this study, the writer was collecting the data used a written test as an instrument, and it was analyzed by an Independent t-test using SPSS 16, the result showed that t –obtained was higher than t table  (6,573  >2.000), and the value of sig (2 tailed) =0.00 less than the value significance level (0,05). It meant that there were no significant differences between the experimental group and the control group. So, the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and Null Hypothesis was rejected. It can be concluded that Brainstorming Technique was significant to increase students’ writing skills at the tenth grade of MA YPI Darul Huda Lubuk Harjo.

In this study, the writer used a quasi-experimental design. The population in this study was the tenth-grade students of SMA Pangudi Luhur Sukaraja, with the total of the population was 64 students. Whereas, the sample of the study was 40 students were taken by using purposive sampling, those were 20 students of X IPS1 as experimental group and 20 students of X IPS2 as the control group. Moreover, the writer used a written test. The data obtained from Independent t-test analysis, between the result of the post-test in experimental class and control class. Based on the calculation by using an Independent t-test, the researcher found that tobtained was higher than ttable (6.211> 1.697) at the significance level ɑ = 0.05 in a two-tailed test. So, the Null Hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) was accepted.  It can be concluded that there was any significant difference in teaching writing by using PLEASE Strategy in SMA Pangudi Luhur.

The population of the study were tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 20 Batam academic year 2017/2018. There were eight classes of tenth grade students with the total number 300 students. The samples of this study were two classes which consist of 30 students in experiment class and 30 students in control class. The instrument of this study was written test. The data analysis was used Independent Samples Test on IBM SPSS statistics 20 to perform T-test. The result showed that the Sig.(2-tailed) of students’ pre-test and post-test in experimental was 0.401 and standard significance level was 0.05. By comparing the Sig.(2-tailed) and standard  significance level, it was known that Sig.(2-tailed) was bigger than standard significance level (0.401 > 0.05). It means there was no significant difference in writing tourism brochure before and after taught by using Mind Mapping in experimental class. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was rejected and the null hypothesis (Ho) was accepted. The conclusion of Mind Mapping was not given significant effect in improving students’ ability in writing tourism brochure.

This research aimed at investigating whether or not there was a significant difference on writing competency of the tenth grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Singaraja. This research was experimental research with Pre-test and Post-test Only Control Group Design and used cluster random sampling technique to determine the samples. There were two classes chosen as samples in this study. The two groups were given treatments to obtain the required data. The experimental group was taught by using Blended Learning Strategy and the control group was taught by using conventional technique. The obtained data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The mean score of experimental group (81.10) was higher than the mean score of control group (78.83). This research is a study of improving students’ ability in reading comprehension. The aim was to find out whether the use of Herringbone technique would bring a significant difference in teaching reading comprehension through Recount text, compared with the result before the students being treated. The study was conducted in the tenth grade students of SMA N 4 Pematangsiantar. The research method used was the experimental design, where the Experimental group was the PMIA 3 class, and the PMIA 2 class as the control class. Both of the classes had 34 students in each of it. The data were obtained through pre-test, treatment and post test. The pre-test was held to know the students’ basic ability or score before treatment was given. Meanwhile, the post test was held to know the students’ achievement and significant effect after the students were taught using Herringbone technique. Finding of the research showed that both groups had a significant improvement in their reading ability after being treated and passed the KKM. The Control group, which the pre-test score was 60, made an improvement shown in their post-test score in amount of 70,44. The experimental group, the group which the researcher treated the Herringbone technique to them, had a higher improvement than the control group. The average score of pre-test in this group was about 54,41 where then being improved up to 78,97. The score of t-test (3,981) was higher than t-table (1,668) at the level of significance 5% for two tailed test, so Null Hypothesis is rejected and Alternative Hypothesis is accepted.

The aim of this research is to describe the implementation of Wholesome Scattering Game in improving students’ writing skills on descriptive text and to find out whether there is a significant difference between students who were taught by using Wholesome Scattering Game and the students who were not. This research used quantitative approach focusing on experimental research which was conducted at SMAN 2 Sungaiselan in academic year 2019/2020. The researcher used purposive sampling technique and two classes were taken as samples, with 69 students (35 students for the control group and 34 students for the  experimental). The result of the test was analyzed by using statistical analysis of Paired sample t-test and Independent sample t-test. The finding showed that the students who were taught by using Wholesome Scattering Game got higher score than those who were taught by using non-Wholesome Scattering Game. It means that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, while the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. It could be concluded that there was a significant difference between students who were taught by using Wholesome Scattering Game and the students who were taught without using Wholesome Scattering Game.
