Introduction: the Mordovian drama genre paradigm develops constantly and is presently enriched with creative innovations that demonstrate the search for the new forms of interpreting reality and the ways to present individual and personal spirits of people. Innovative phenomena in drama update the ethnic art literature and make significant adjustments to its aesthetic evolution. The relevance of the article is determined by the need to understand the artistic processes taking place in Mordovian drama. The object of the study is the artistic particularities of A. Teryoshkin’s genre experiment in the monodrama «The Whistleblower». Objective: to analyze the genre specifics of the monodrama «The Whistleblower» by A. Teryoshkin. Research materials: the monodrama «The Whistleblower» by A. Teryoshkin. Results and novelty of the research: the scientific novelty of the article is due to the small study of the creative work of A. Teryoshkin as the dramatist. The author comes to the conclusion that the analysis of individual human destiny in the monodrama by A. Teryoshkin is carried out by means of self-reflection of the hero in the form of a monologue story revealing the inner motifs of actions. In general, all this reflects the complexity and multidimensionality of the surrounding reality. The fact that the playwright uses extraordinary artistic means within the genre form, innovative for the national literature, confirms his intention to develop the aesthetic framework of Mordovian drama.

The problem of interpretation of anthropological artistic images by Fyodor Buslaev is considered in the article; those are presented in monuments of national literature. Tracing sources of origin of the aesthetic ideas in the most ancient forms of language, Fyodor Buslaev made an attempt to explain development of artistic views of the people of antiquity. He connected this long process with infl uence and interaction of many factors – evolution of religious mythological ideas and epic creative work, streamlining of matrimonial relations, more rational distribution of gender and role functions in everyday life, formation of of gender identity idea, origin of moral imperatives. Mythology and folklore gave him an opportunity to highlight changes of female images (from mannish battle-axes to owners of a classical ideal of beauty); the sage explained their aestheticisation with change of female essence criteria ideas and "canons" of female attractivity. Fyodor Buslaev came to a conclusion which was later confi rmed by Vladimir Propp and Aron Gurevich – indicators of external appeal of both women and men were inalienable from ethical estimates by society which considered moral nobility, decent conduct of life of mythical and epic characters.

Abstract Since the 19th century, Shakespeare references have recurred with surprising consistency in experimental forms of media. This article considers the role of references to and adaptations of Shakespeare texts when a media form takes on a new valence for a set of users in a particular time and place. We consider two different moments at length: a commercial interactive game from 1984 that made novel use of cassettes and sound, and the production and reception of early Twitter adaptations of Shakespeare in 2010. By standing in for the aesthetic possibilities and limits of a changing media space, Shakespearean references and deviations from them serve a key role for artists and critics in debates over the legitimacy and significance of creative work in emergent media. Thus, cultural producers, critics and audiences thus use these sometimes-awkward appearances of Shakespeare as a means of describing their aesthetic potentials and limits.

PurposeThe aim of this paper is to develop a tool measuring individual intellectual capital (IIC) and investigate the relationship between self-reflection and IIC.Design/methodology/approachThis study developed a theoretical model based on social cognitive theory and the literature of self-reflection and intellectual capital (IC). This research collected responses from 502 dyads of employees and their direct supervisors in 150 firms in China, and the study tested the research model using structural equation modeling (SEM).FindingsThe results indicate that three components of self-reflection, namely, need for self-reflection, engagement in self-reflection and insight, significantly contribute to all the three components of IIC, such as individual human capital, individual structural capital and individual relational capital. The findings suggest that need for self-reflection is the weakest component to impact individual human capital and individual relationship capital, while insight is the one that mostly enhances individual structural capital.Practical implicationsThis paper suggests that managers can enhance employees' IIC by facilitating their self-reflection. Managers can develop appropriate strategies based on findings of this study, to achieve their specific goals.Originality/valueFirst, this study develops a tool for measuring IIC. Second, this study provides an enriched theoretical explanation on the relationship between self-reflection and IIC – by showing that the three subdimensions of self-reflection, such as need, engagement and insight, influence the three subdimensions of IIC, such as individual human capital, individual structural capital and individual relational capital.

Abstract This contribution traces an aesthetic shift in the concept of second nature that occurs around 1800 and raises the question as to what role art might play in a culture that already conceives of itself in generally aesthetic terms. The paper recalls Kant’s rejection of habit as a proper realization of ethical life and shows that in his third critique, Kant proposes a second nature of a different kind. To realize ethical life as a “second (supersensible) nature”, we cannot confine ourselves to mere habituation but require a different type of second nature that is exemplified by the work of art. The paper asks what role art may adopt in an aestheticised culture arising from the success of such an aesthetic understanding in the wake of Kant, from Schiller through to Nietzsche. It argues that art redefines its role by taking not first nature but the second nature of ethical life as its main point of reference. Art thus reconceives itself as a self-reflection of our second nature. The paper discusses three models of such self-reflection: the aesthetic estrangement, the beautiful completion, and the dialectical renegotiation of our second nature.

ABSTRACT Aesthetics refers to the branch of knowledge that debates the subject of beauty in literary works. The aesthetic element plays an important role in the production of a creative work, which serves as a language medium in delivering clear messages to the reader. This study is based on the study of literary scholars who claim that science fiction novels from the Science and Technology Fiction Contest do not present the language’s beauty element to readers. To this end, the researcher used the five novels of Science and Technology Fiction Contest winners namely Bekamorfosis (2012) by Jali Kenoi, Petaka Bakteria (2012) by Mohd Kasim Mahmud, Puranakila (2015) by Saadiah Ibrahim, Ajal (2015) by Ruhaini Matdarin and Yang Diselindung Samudera (2017) by Nor Azida Ishak, Ted Mahsun and Fadli Al-Akiti. The study also has two objectives of the study which is to classify and analyze the aesthetics of language which is the use of language style found in the research novels. Therefore, this study uses the method of literature review, analysis and application of the theory of poetic text Malay literature founded by Muhammad Haji Salleh in support of the submissions from researchers. As a result of the study of science fiction novels, researchers have identified two types of language styles that the author promotes: comparative language style and repetition language style. The style of these languages can also be associated with the aesthetic concept in the theory of poetic beauty of Malay literature in educating or teaching, discovery of beauty in distress and sadness and beauty in the sense as described by Muhammad Haji Salleh.

The authors set objectives to identify the typological features of national literature in the work of Muliat Emizh of the late 20 - early 21 centuries, which determine the study of the problem-thematic content, the evolution of the conflict and genre forms of artistic phenomena. The authors establish the strengthening of the problematic nature and attempts to deepen the concept of personality in the collections "Returned Songs", "The Mysterious Sign", "Mountain Lake", etc. The movement towards artistic volume and concentration of poetic means is noted. The influence of folklore and literary traditions on the formation of genre forms of poetry is determined. The reliance on historical-literary and comparative-typological methods makes it possible to draw a conclusion about the reflection in the work of M. Emizh of such features of contemporary literature as liberation from declarativity, journalistic pleonasm and solemnity. This work may be in demand in the study of theoretical problems of the formation of Russian literature of the twentieth century.

Abstract The article presents dialogic attitude towards nature and focuses on the aesthetic form of interaction with environment via folklore and imaginative writing. The article analyzes the development of scientific thought from human ecology to environmental hermeneutics. Hermeneutic methodology is used in the field of “aesthetics of nature”, therefore, the author applies hermeneutic categories such as tradition, historically effective consciousness, hermeneutic circle, application to cultural heritage of one of Siberia’s natives and proves the advantages, heuristic value of these categories in analyzing dialogue with nature. Aesthetic dialogue with nature is studied on the example of ethnic and ecological traditions of the Buryat nomads, who historically migrated across Central Asia, nowadays live around Lake Baikal. The author argues that revitalizing ethnic and ecological traditions in folklore and contemporary national literature presents a hermeneutic dialogue with nature and considers it a valuable resource for ethical assumptions and ecological education for sustainable development.

The article follows the hypothesis that the aesthetic dimension of the standpoint of reason providesthe main element for an appropriate perspective on how the interplay between rationalityand irrationality is able to contribute to practical self-determination as a person. The startingpoint is formed by the critical discussion of the position considering that it is possible to derivethe normative implications of practical reasonableness and self-determination from an abstractmomentum of reflective distance. Whilst taking a look at Christine Korsgaard’s version ofthis idea it becomes clear that it rests on a conception of the practical standpoint that suffersboth from a lack of methodological self-reflection and from neglecting the special features andpotentials of irrational actions and experiences. The following text shows how the search foran alternative conception, which takes both aspects into account, benefits from a comparisonwith psychoanalysis, since this discipline is able to methodologically refer philosophy back tothe original potential it unfolds in its aesthetic perspectives on practical standpoints.
