This study aims to reveal the Professionalism of Islamic Religious Education teacher in State Senior High School 17 Surabaya in improving the students’ learning quality. As well as improving the students’ learning quality in State Senior High School 17 Surabaya. The method used in this research is analytical descriptive research that is a research that aims to give a picture of reality on object that is studied objectively. The source of the research data obtained from observation, interview, questionnaire and documentation. This research took place from December 15, 2017 to February 15, 2018. Research proved that the professionalism of Islamic Religious Education teacher in State Senior High School 17 Surabaya is good enough. Professional teachers are teachers who can be mature, able to control themselves, not easily carried away emotions. Be objective, teachers who have academic qualifications in accordance with their field of Bachelor of Islamic Religious Education, have four competencies (pedagogic competence, knowledge, personality and social competence). To be able to equip students to gain knowledge, teachers must continuously improve their relationship and communication skills with students. Especially as a Christian religion teacher, he does not only focus on fulfilling children's cognitive values ​​in meeting the minimum completeness criteria but rather on instilling Christian values ​​and Christ's character. Researchers see that there are separate challenges faced by a Christian Religious Education teacher in high school and vocational high school where in fact the students who are taught reach puberty or are in search of identity so that they tend to commit acts of vandalism or behavior that tends to be irresponsible, sometimes filled with emotional attitudes. For this reason, according to the researcher, teachers who are capable of teaching not only cognitively but also related to inculcating spiritual attitudes and social attitudes are needed.

The aim of this study is to The aim of this paper is to discusse Muslim teachers perspectives on students hedonism behaviors at Senior High School Poso.  This study used qualitative method in which the data was gathered through  direct observation, in-depth interview with students’ parents, and written material.  The results of the study concluded that many students has bad behavior such as consumptive, individualistic, selfish, lazy, irresponsible, wasteful, undisciplined in time, lying, disrespectful of time, shouting, likes to scold, likes to curse, and likes to fight. Besides that, students also like to annoy classmates, like to skip school, and disrespect teachers. The Islamic Religious Education teacher at the school views hedonistic behavior as behavior that can lead students to behavior that exceeds boundaries. Meanwhile, this behavior is very disliked by Allah and His Messenger, so that Islamic Religious Education teachers and stakeholders are expected to prevent hedonistic behavior among students so it does not damage their future.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui realitas upaya guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) dalam meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik di sekolah menengah atas (SMA) se-Kecamatan Bringin, Kabupaten pada tahun 2012, termasuk: (1) Untuk menentukan kompetensi pedagogik guru PAI, (2) Untuk mengetahui upaya guru PAI dalam meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik, (3) Untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan kompetensi pedagogic guru PAI se-Kecamatam Bringin. Penilaian dilakukan penelitian kualitatif, informan terdiri dari guru PAI dan kepala sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif dengan metode kualitatif. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) kompetensi pedagogik guru PAI SMA se-Kecamatan Bringin Semarang 2012 tergolong baik, terbukti dari latar belakang pendidikan guru yang linier dengan pelajaran yang diampu, pemahaman terhadap kompetensi pedagogik yang baik, persiapan alat pembelajaran dan manajemen pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan ketentuan (2) upaya untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik adalah dengan memperbanyak referensi mengenai kompetensi pedagogik PAI, menghadiri berbagai seminar, lokakarya, pelatihan, dan mengikuti Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP). Pihak sekolah juga melakukan upaya melalui evaluasi belajar, memeriksa pembelajaran, supervisi kelas, dan mendorong guru untuk menghadiri seminar pendidikan (3) Pelaksanaan pedagogik pembelajaran pendidikan Islam akan menentukan kualitas pembelajaran itu sendiri, dengan guru yang memiliki kompetensi pedagogik, manajemen pembelajaran akan berjalan lancar. This study aims to determine the reality of the efforts of teachers of Islamic religious education (PAI) in improving pedagogic competence at senior high school (SMA) throughout Bringin Semarang regency in 2012, including: (1) To determine the pedagogical competence of PAI teachers, (2) To know the efforts of PAI teacher in improving pedagogical competence, (3) To know the implementation of pedagogical competence in PAI. The assessment was conducted qualitative research to informants, both PAI teacher and the headmaster. This study uses a descriptive qualitative procedure. The conclusions are (1) pedagogical competence of PAI teachers at SMA 1 Bringin Semarang Regency 2012 is good, proven by the teachers’ linear education background with teaching load, understanding towards good pedagogic, the preparation of learning tools and management in accordance with the provisions (2) efforts to improve pedagogical competence are by reading various reference regarding it, attending seminars, workshops, trainings, and following deliberation subject teachers (MGMP), the school authorities make efforts through the evaluation of learning, classroom supervision, and creating opportunities for teachers to attend educational seminars (3) Implementation of pedagogic on learning Islamic education will determine the quality of learning itself. <p><em>Cases of cheating, promiscuity, making sordid video student in the classroom are the phenomena of decline in character education at the school. In this sense, character education is essential to emphasized. This research uses qualitative approach, by applying design research CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, and Product). In context of building the nation character values at the school will success on condition that it is accompanied with system and climate supported by each school. One of supporting system and climate is the headmaster's policies on the regulation that support the implementation of character education, and this policy should be supported by infrastructure of the school. The input aspect that determines inculcation of nation character values in these both schools is the quality of the school resources including headmaster, teachers, educational staffs, students, and education infrastructures. From the aspects of process, inculcation nation character values on these schools is implemented through the integration of the Islamic religious education subject and culture of the school. Syllabus and RPP on subjects of Islamic religious education in State Senior High School 1 Kudus and State Senior High School 1 Jepara have already been insightful with the education of nation character. The aspects of product from internalization of cultural values and nation character are embodied in attitudes and behaviors of the students at school and society.</em></p>

International Journal of Contemporary Islamic Education volume 2 issue 1 offers six   articles covering topics of Islamic education studies. Various issues relating to Islamic education interestingly presented to contribute to the body of knowledge and practices. Academia and practitioners in Islamic education studies may gain insight from reading the articles.   The first article is titled “Active Learning Strategies Implementation in Arabic Teaching at Senior High School” written by Asmawati Asmawati, Asy’ari Asy’ari, and Malkan Malkan from Postgraduate studies Institut Agama Islam Negeri Palu. This paper discusses the implementation of  active learning strategy in Arabic teaching at a senior high school in Palu city. The second article is titled “ Teachers’ Strategy in Improving Students’ Learning Achievement  of Al-Qur’an and Hadits  at Madrasah Tsanawiyah” written by Mardiah Mardiah, Askar Askar, and Rustina Rustina.   The paper discussed the strategies of teachers of the Qur'an and hadith subjects in improving the learning achievement of students in Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Al-Khairaat Biromaru.  The third article is titled “Contribution of Islamic Education Values in Marriage Tradition of Banggai Ethnic, Indonesia” written by Oyan D. Taufik, Sagaf S. Pettalongi, and Sidik Sidik. The paper discusses  the contribution of Islamic education values in marriage according to the customs of the tribe in district of Banggai Bulagi. The fourth paper is tittled “The Role of Environment in Improving Learning Quality:  A Case Study of Al-Istiqamah Modern Islamic Boarding School” written by Rara Pratiwi, Kamaruddin Kamaruddin, and Adawiyah Adawiyah. The paper discusses the role of learning environment in improving the quality of learning students in modern boarding school Al-Istiqamah Ngatabaru. The fifth article is titled “Effectiveness the Use of Audio Visual Media in Teaching Islamic Religious Education” written by Winarto Winarto, Ahmad Syahid, and Fatimah Saguni. The paper discussed  the effectiveness of using audio visual as media in improving learning achievement of a Islamic Junior high school. The last paper  is title “The Role of Islamic Education Teachers Competency in Improving the Quality of Education” written by Zuhaeriah Zuhaeriah, Moh. Ali, and Yusra Yusra. This study aimed to find out and toanalyze quality of lesson plans by senior high schoolteachers in Siak Regency. The lesson plans designed by teachers of the schools function as aguideline for them to run teaching and learning process at schools. It is a descriptive research. Dataof this study were collected through an instrument filled out by 142 respondents. They were seniorhigh school teachers in Siak regency. Data analysis was presented through descriptive statistics.The research findings revealed that quality of making lesson plans of senior high school teachers inSiak regency belong to the very high category (4.304 or 86.10%). The lesson plans aimed to matchteaching material with predetermined competencies, allocate time effectivelyand efficiently, decidemedia/tools as well as teaching materials, describe learning objectives and in detail, decideassessment techniques in accordance with the demands of the curriculum, organize teachingmaterials based on sequences and groups, decide appropriate teaching methods, design learningprocedures in accordance with competencies required, and decide appropriate references(textbooks, modules, computer program and so forth) to be used. These findings show that makinga lesson plan requires creativity and pedagogical skills. Creativity andmotivation lead to positiveaction in presenting quality, realistic, and concrete lesson plans

This study aims to evaluate the Zoning System policy in the admission of new students listed in Permendikbud no. 17 of 2017, the purpose of the zoning system is to equal access to education in each district / city. however, in its implementation, it has not been able to eliminate the mindset of favorite and not favorite schools because the accreditation of several schools has not yet been evenly distributed, besides that, they still have to adapt to the implementation of this policy, one of which is at State Senior High School 2 Bandung which is the first cluster school before the zoning system for the admission of new students. This study uses a William N Dunn model of public policy evaluation with the CIPP approach (Context, Input, Process, Product). The research method uses descriptive research methods with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation study. The results showed that the application of the zoning system in the admission of New Students at State Senior High School 2 Bandung has been going very well but still needs new patterns in learning and the impact of implementing zoning system policies including improving the quality of learning, division of study groups, characteristics of students and the learning process at StateSenior High School 2 Bandung.

This study reveals about the factors regarding the implementation of inclusive Islamic religious education in Senior High School in Sibolga. The implementation of inclusive PAI which is the problem in this research is the planning, implementation and evaluation of inclusive PAI in Senior High School in Sibolga. The research method in this research is qualitative research with a phonomenology approach, namely analyzing the factors of inclusive Islamic education at State Senior High School in Sibolga. Based on the findings in this study, it can be concluded that the implementation of inclusive Islamic Education in the Sibolga City Senior High School includes planning that includes the school's vision and mission, school work programs/PAI teachers, curriculum, ex-kul, methods, related activities. Based on the results of the evaluation in this implementation, it can be seen that inclusive PAI has the support of school residents and builds inclusive school residents.

This study is aimed to know how the quality of second grade senior high school Sekolah Indonesia Kuala Lumpur Malaysia English language testing like in term of content validity, index of difficulty, index of discrimination, and the effectiveness of distracters. The design used in this study is a qualitative research. Qualitative in this research is descriptive research. Then, use quantitative descriptive research to calculate and compute the data to prove the qualitative data and conclude the result of this research. The object of this research is second grade of senior high school of Sekolah Indonesia Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and only focus in multiple choice test items. The sample of this research is second grade of Science class and second grade of Social class which conclude all students in the class. The result of this study reported that the English language testing has good content validity. It also reported that the index of difficulty of the English language testing are acceptable. Besides, the index of discrimination of this test is satisfactory. Moreover, it has good distracters.
