The Tele-Health WBAN (Wireless Body Area Network) Model for patients required more attention especially old age people’s healthcare services in Low-cost Internet of Things (IoT) Devices. The advancements in telemedicine have increased drastically towards wearable sensor devices and mobile phone-based applications in the last few years. The study presents the integration of IoT and wearable sensor devices in the Tele - Health system developed for tracking heart patients among the elderly people and also to prevent them from stroke. In order to meet the demand for old age people healthcare services, it is very much essential to provide assistance in cardiac disease diagnosis and suggest medication in their home with comfortable environment. Hence, they can avoid frequent visit to hospitals and long stays.

Over the last few years, the use of smartwatches in automatic Fall Detection Systems (FDSs) has aroused great interest in the research of new wearable telemonitoring systems for the elderly. In contrast with other approaches to the problem of fall detection, smartwatch-based FDSs can benefit from the widespread acceptance, ergonomics, low cost, networking interfaces, and sensors that these devices provide. However, the scientific literature has shown that, due to the freedom of movement of the arms, the wrist is usually not the most appropriate position to unambiguously characterize the dynamics of the human body during falls, as many conventional activities of daily living that involve a vigorous motion of the hands may be easily misinterpreted as falls. As also stated by the literature, sensor-fusion and multi-point measurements are required to define a robust and reliable method for a wearable FDS. Thus, to avoid false alarms, it may be necessary to combine the analysis of the signals captured by the smartwatch with those collected by some other low-power sensor placed at a point closer to the body’s center of gravity (e.g., on the waist). Under this architecture of Body Area Network (BAN), these external sensing nodes must be wirelessly connected to the smartwatch to transmit their measurements. Nonetheless, the deployment of this networking solution, in which the smartwatch is in charge of processing the sensed data and generating the alarm in case of detecting a fall, may severely impact on the performance of the wearable. Unlike many other works (which often neglect the operational aspects of real fall detectors), this paper analyzes the actual feasibility of putting into effect a BAN intended for fall detection on present commercial smartwatches. In particular, the study is focused on evaluating the reduction of the battery life may cause in the watch that works as the core of the BAN. To this end, we thoroughly assess the energy drain in a prototype of an FDS consisting of a smartwatch and several external Bluetooth-enabled sensing units. In order to identify those scenarios in which the use of the smartwatch could be viable from a practical point of view, the testbed is studied with diverse commercial devices and under different configurations of those elements that may significantly hamper the battery lifetime.

This is a field research that analyzes the marriage suitability of elderly people in Socah, Bangkalan under the theory of maqasid shari'ah. The elderly marriage is officially conducted at KUA (Religious Affairs Office) of Socah for different reasons, namely: on the basis of coercion to the bride so that the family relationship does not break up, resulting in reluctance, on the basis of family compassion and encouragement. It is because the bride is an old maid and is his own niece on the basis of mutual love, avoid immorality and seek peace of life in old age. All couples can fulfill both material and non-material obligations, although not as perfect as a young couple. Some husbands do not want to have children for fear of not being able to support even though in this case the wife really wants it. Thus, the marriage of the elderly in Socah is sometimes appropriate and not in accordance with the maqasid shari'ah. The suitability in question is in terms of hifz al-din (protecting religion) and hifz al-mal (protecting wealth), while its inadequacies are in terms of hifz al-nasl (protecting offspring), because of their desires to have offspring and in terms of hifz al-nafs (protecting soul), and hifz al-'aql (protecting ratio), because of differences in descent have the negative effect on family disharmony that can interfere with the soul and mind. In this case, an intense dialogue and approach must be made to the couple to be more open and understand each other.

The state of the health care system is an important characteristic of the country’s social and economic development, but the results of surveys can not demonstrate an objective result. The respondents are influenced by a number of factors, including their level of socialization, in assessing healthcare services. In the article, we consider the hypothesis that communication with relatives and neighborhood significantly increases the relative pessimism of the subjective evaluation of healthcare services by the elderly. In order to reduce the incompatibility of subjective assessments of respondents, the anchoring vignette method is used.

This paper presents the design and simulation results for a Federal Communication Committee (FCC) complaint current starved delay line based Ultra Wide Band (UWB) Gaussian pulse transmitter, which is designed for operating in the 3.1–10.6 GHz range. The wavelet is a mono cycle Gaussian impulse wave, which is practically well suited for low cost, low power, low data rate wireless data transfer such as in wireless body area network (WBAN) applications. The transmitter operating frequency and bandwidth (BW) is controlled using a dc voltage provided at the input stage of a voltage controlled delay line (VCDL) and this aspect can be exploited for increasing the communication coverage area without compromising on the power consumption. A Gaussian wave shaping is performed for FCC compliance and the simulation has been carried out with 130 nm technology. The simulation of our design suggests an average dynamic power consumption of 1.11 mw for an energy efficiency of 14.2 pJ/pulse. The proposed IR-UWB transmitter design though a bit inferior in terms of the power efficiency, can claim superior performance with respect to tuning the BW, which is very relevant in a cognitive wireless networking scenario with other interfering signals.

Objectives - to make an assessment of the actual situation in the population ageing process and to define its tendency. Material and methods. The classification characteristics are defined based on the calculation on the elderly people ratio to the total number of people. The structure of the international ranking is presented. The modern approach such as a prospective age was the basis of the ageing evaluation. The point of analysis was the ageing tendency in the Samara region population in the 20th century, observing its range and structure marks, the degree according to the ageing index. Results. The prognostic ageing values of the 2010 year for the period till 2031were corrected. The escalation of the eldest population group in the nearest future was decisively proved. The further interdisciplinary problem management was stated to be focused on, as the elderly people are crucially dependent on the just-in-time and full-range healthcare services supported by the social adaptation.

Software-Defined Networking (SDN) offers an abstract view of the network and assists network operators to control the network traffic and the associated network resources more effectively. For the past few years, SDN has shown a lot of merits in diverse fields of applications, an important one being the Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) for healthcare services. With the amalgamation of SDN with WBAN (SDWBAN), the patient monitoring and management system has gained much more flexibility and scalability compared to the conventional WBAN. However, the performance of the SDWBAN framework largely depends on the controller which is a core element of the control plane. The reason is that an optimal number of controllers assures the satisfactory level of performance and control of the network traffic originating from the underlying data plane devices. This paper proposes a mathematical model to determine the optimal number of controllers for the SDWBAN framework in healthcare applications. To achieve this goal, the proposed mathematical model adopts the convex optimization method and incorporates three critical SDWBAN factors in the design process: number of controllers, latency and number of SDN-enabled switches (SDESW). The proposed analytical model is validated by means of simulations in Castalia 3.2 and the outcomes indicate that the network achieves high level of Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) and low latency for optimal number of controllers as derived in the mathematical model.

The “Unobtrusive Smart Environments for Independent Living” EU funded project is proposing an integrated system (USEFIL system) which intends to cope with ageing problem providing advanced, affordable and unobtrusive monitoring and web communication solutions for seniors living independently. The USEFIL system enhances social care and medical service provision by exploiting “frugal” ICT solutions such as low cost “off-the-shelf” technology and unobtrusive monitoring technologies to develop services that will assist the elderly in maintaining their independence throughout their daily activities. The project adopted the Design Science Research Methodology (DSRM) to design and develop the USEFIL system because this methodology incorporates all those principles, practices, and procedures to help us meet USEFIL systems' objectives. Aim of the paper is to demonstrate the use of the DSRM process to design an ICT solution for the case study of ICT technologies for assistive living environments for elderly people. More specifically using the theoretical lens of the Design Science Research Methodology theory the paper presents the necessary steps that have been conducted to design the USEFIL system. The USEFIL system was implemented and validated over a three year period with elderly people, their unofficial carers and doctors. Results demonstrate that the technology readily succeeds in meeting the study's initial objectives. Although the project is still running and the design specification of the USEFIL system is under continuous update, the main modules that have been designed and realized will be presented in the paper.

The study of poverty explores the experiences of elderly people and people living with disabilities pertaining to the five broad categories of disability, namely physical disability, blindness, deafness, and mental illness, including perceived barriers and remedies. Disability whether physical infirmity, disease, or sensory impairment or perhaps later in life, by the onset of illness or frailty due to aging, is conceptualized as a restriction or lack of ability to perform an activity in a ‘normal' or expected manner. By focusing on the African extended family's context and the living conditions among people with and without disabilities, this discussion informs policy everywhere to combat poverty and social exclusion and discrimination, take lifecycle approach to individual needs, eliminate poverty among the elderly and in people living with disabilities, and ensure access to social protections and community participation.

This article is devoted to the study of the consequences of social isolation of elderly Muscovites during the spread of coronavirus infection. The author draws attention to the fact that the informal isolation of the older generation has existed for a long time, but only in the new conditions associated with the pandemic, the «home mode» of life in old age was fixed by law. Social isolation is considered as a risk to the life and health of the older generation. It is shown how unprecedented restrictive measures of the Government affec­ted the psycho-emotional and physical health of elderly people, and the tasks of the state to reduce the vulnerability, ensure the safety and resilience of the elderly were not solved.

Increased Life Expectancy has an impact on increasing the number of elderly people. Older people are part of a society that cannot be solved in our lives. Widodomartani Village, Ngemplak Subdistrict, Sleman DIY is one of the villages that has a high number of elderly people. Some of them still remain productive in their old age. This needs to be maintained and improved, considering that the elderly are the age group that is susceptible to disease. Promotive and preventive efforts are very important to do to improve the health of the elderly and to increase family expectations.Keywords: mucoskeletal, elderly, examination
