Resource allocation plays a critical role in the strategic, tactical, and operational planning of the supply chain. The study focuses on aspects of resource allocation in the case of pure players, manufacturers, and Clicks & Mortars that have launched online sales. These e-retailers offer a wide selection of customized services and so need an efficient management on every level and process. The goal of the research was to explore a concrete approach to improve customer satisfaction, reduce costs and risks and to maintain the benefits of e-retailers and of its collaborators. Our contribution is a decision support system and a tool to improve operational resources allocation in B2C supply chains. Hence, we started by modeling operations and the different scenarios. Then we introduced an optimization model founded on the analysis of resource allocation in B2C supply chains and applicable on any B2C e-retailer. It helps in choosing the most optimal resources for each order. The model is based on a multi-objective optimization approach that takes into consideration the collaboration of resources throughout the supply chain operations process including dynamic costs and collaborator capabilities as well as associated risks and the quality of delivered services.

Анализируется опыт Рязанского гвардейского высшего воздушно-десантного командного училища (РВВДКУ) по повышению качества профессиональной подготовки будущих офицеров-десантников. Military students’ quality education is a necessary prerequisite for our country’s high defensive potential. The article treats major activities aimed at the improvement of military students’ professional training. The article underlines that it is essential to secure efficient selection of military students, ensure professional competence of professorial staff, secure efficient management of teaching and learning processes, ensure effective quality management, secure efficient development and improvement of learning environments. The article analyzes the experience of improving the quality of novice parachute regiment officers’ professional training at Ryazan Guards Higher Airborne Command School.

Bio-based supply chains are by nature complex to optimize. The new logistic concept of integrated biomass logistical center (IBLC) provides us the opportunity to make full use of the idle capacity for a food/feed plant to produce biobased products so that the entire chain efficiency can be improved. Although research has been conducted to analyze the IBLC concept, is yet to be an optimization model that can optimally arrange the activities in the supply chain where an IBLC stands in the middle. To fill the knowledge gap in the literature, this paper makes the first step to develop a MILP model that enables biobased supply chain optimization with the IBLC concept, which supports logistic and processing decisions in the chain. The model is applied in a case study for a feed and fodder plant in Spain where managerial insights have been derived for transferring the plant to a profitable IBLC.

Due to wide growth of digitalisation and globalisation, organisations need to serve customer demand with quality services, domestically as well as globally. Organisations always preferred to outsource their supply chain and logistics operations to third-party logistics (3PL) for the purpose of timely delivery and better service quality. This article aimed to find out the key parameters that affect the quality of services provided by 3PL to the organisations. Assets, processes and services are the three broader categories desired by organisations at the time of selection of best 3PL. The evaluation of parameters under these categories has been done by using Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) and the ranking of parameters may help the organisations to make the best decision regarding selection of best 3PL among all the available alternatives.

For an online-shopping company, whether it can provide its customers with customized service is the key to enhance its customers’ experience value and its own competence. A good customized service requires effective integration and reasonable allocation of the company’s supply chain resources running in the background. Based on the analysis of the allocation of supply chain resources in the customized online shopping service mode and its operational characteristics, this paper puts forward an optimization model for the resource allocation and builds an improved ant algorithm to solve it. Finally, the effectiveness and feasibility of the optimization method and algorithm are demonstrated by a numerical simulation. This paper finds that the special online shopping environments lead to many dynamic and uncertain characters of the service demands. Different customized service patterns and their combination patterns should match with different supply chain resource allocations. The optimization model not only reflects the required service cost and delivery time in the objective function, but also considers the service scale effect optimization and the relations of integration benefits and risks. The improved ant algorithm has obvious advantages in flexibly balancing the multiobjective optimizations, adjusting the convergence speed, and adjusting the operation parameters.

The price gap between farmers and retailers in commercial vegetables like spinach, tomatoes, potatoes and shallots in Bogor City was predicted as a result from the high trading margin. The research aims to analyze income, margin and farmer share obtained by commercial vegetable supply chain actors in Bogor City. The study was conducted in March - October 2017 at the Bogor Traditional Market and the Jambu Traditional Market. The selection of respondents used the purposive sampling and snowball sampling method. Result shows that the R / C ratio of farmers is lower than that of traders. The R/C ratio received by farmers is 1,48, while that received by traders is 2,64. The average Farmer Share (41,2%) is lower than the seller share (58,8%). The average marketing margin is Rp 14,576.5. The supply chain that take side to farmers regarding to the value of R/C, the total margin and the farmer's share value are found in potato commodities because it has a higher R / C ratio than traders, higher farmer shares than traders, and trading margin that lower than the three other commodities compared

In today's competitive world, the quality of after-sales services plays a significant role in customer satisfaction and customer retention. Some after-sales activities require spare parts and owing to the importance of customer satisfaction, the needed spare parts must be supplied until the end of the warranty period. In this study, a mixed-integer linear optimization model is presented to redesign and plan the sale and after-sales services supply chain that addresses the challenges of supplying spare parts after the production is stopped due to demand reduction. Three different options are considered for supplying spare parts, including production/procurement of extra parts while the product is being produced, remanufacturing, and procurement of parts just in time they are needed. Considering the challenges of supplying spare parts for after-sales services based on the product's life cycle is one contribution of this paper. Also, this paper addresses the uncertainties associated with different parameters through Mulvey's scenario-based optimization approach. Applicability of the model is investigated using a numerical example from the literature. The results indicate that the production/procurement of extra parts and remanufacturing are preferred to the third option. Moreover, remanufacturing is recommended when the remanufacturing cost is less than 23% of the production cost.

The specific attributes of agrifood supply chains, along with their importance for the economy and society, have led to an increased interest in the parameters that enhance their effectiveness. Recently, numerous digital tools aimed at improving supply chain effectiveness have been developed. The majority of existing research focuses on optimizing individual processes rather than the overall growth of a food supply chain. This study aims to identify the stages of the information systems planning (ISP) process that affect the success of developing a strategic decision support system (DSS) for improving the decision-making process in the agrifood supply chains. Data were collected from 66 IT executives from Greek small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the agrifood sector and analyzed using regression analysis. The results revealed that situation analysis is the only stage of ISP that predicts ISP success. These findings can assist managers in appreciating the critical role of ISP for improving the performance of agrifood supply chain operations. Implementing the most appropriate information systems (IS) and digital tools results in increased competitive advantage, cost savings, and increased customer value.

One of the main challenges in global procurement problems is the uncertainty in the demand and supply sides of supply chains. Besides, decision making in the stochastic supply chains is a complex problem. A powerful technique for decision analysis in complex stochastic problems is simulation. In this paper we propose a simulation-based optimization approach to solve a bi-objective (profit and service level) supply chain with uncertain customer demands and disruption events in the suppliers. The basic assumptions used in this paper are adopted from the multi-period newsvendor problem. In addition, based on the risk attitude of the buyers (retailers), to cope with the uncertainties, they can sign an option contract, reserving additional capacity in the secondary suppliers. Hence, a simulation approach is used to model the behavior (risk attitude) of the buyers. Indeed, because of the demand uncertainty, at the beginning of each contract period, buyers should decide on the amount of ordering from the primary suppliers. The risk attitude of the retailer (as a spectrum) is defined based on the amount of ordering from the primary supplier. Also, we use the Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm to optimize the bi-objective model. Finally, a numerical example has been solved with the proposed algorithm and the results are reported. The results showed that if the profit is more important than service level, the risk sensitive retailer prefers to show more risk averse behavior.

The quality of agri-foods in e-supply chains confronts more threats than that in the traditional agri-food supply chain. However, most of the existing studies focusing on the quality problems of fresh agri-products are mainly cases studies and statistical analyses, and they do not take into account the farmers’ willingness to comply with safe agri-food supply procedures. To solve the supply quality problems of fresh agri-foods and help participators make a better choice, the decision-making behavior on the supply quality of agri-foods in the e-supply chain was deeply studied in this paper using game theory. Some factors related to the decision behavior of the supply chain were analyzed, including the supervision intension of the government, the rights protection consciousness of consumers, and the intensity of punishment for poor-quality agri-foods. These factors have an important influence on the farmers’ willingness to provide high-quality products and e-business’ probability of inspection. Compared with three different decision models of agri-food e-supply chains, the results show that the decentralized decision model is better than the centralized model from the view of quality protection. The behavior of members of the supply chain is as follows: the farmers’ willingness to supply high-quality agri-foods increases with the increase in the consumers’ consciousness of their rights and the government’s supervision intensity. The “experience deviation” phenomenon also occurs when a new e-business makes a decision about its quality inspection behavior in this e-supply chain where the quality information is traceable. As such, e-business enterprises should reduce their quality inspection behavior based on the increase in the government’s supervision intensity. This happens to be opposite to the traditional experience where quality information is not traceable. This study not only extends the research framework of the novel electronic supply chain, but also provides a certain reference for the subsequent research and e-business practices of fresh produce in developing countries.

Urban population increase results in more supply chain operations in these areas, which leads to increased energy consumption and environmental pollution. City logistics represents a strategy of efficient freight transportation and material handling to fulfill customer and business demands. Within the frame of this paper, the authors describe an optimization model of a multi-echelon collection and distribution system, focusing on downtown areas and energy efficiency, sustainability, and emission reduction. After a systematic literature review, this paper introduces a mathematical model of collection and distribution problems, including package delivery, municipal waste collection, home delivery services, and supply of supermarkets and offices. The object of the optimization model is twofold: firstly, to design the optimal structure of the multi-echelon collection and distribution system, including layout planning and the determination of required transportation resources, like e-cars, e-bikes, and the use of public transportation; and secondly, to optimize the operation strategy of the multi-echelon supply chain, including resource allocation and scheduling problems. Next, a heuristic approach is described, whose performance is validated with common benchmark functions, such as metaheuristic evaluation. The scenario analysis demonstrates the application of the described model and shows the optimal layout, resource allocation, and operation strategy focusing on energy efficiency.
