The paper highlights the main motivation aspects of military highly specialized language training of future intelligence officers of Ukrainian Armed Forces. The motivation resources for forming the professional foreign language competence of military students of higher military educational establishments are determined. The effective conditions for studying professional terminology as the basis for the skills of a future expert are specified. The necessity of organizing an effective training process of studying professional terms is substantiated with the aim of creating the most effective conditions for learning professional terms for terminology, the latter being the basis of professional communication. The algorithm for introducing highly specialized terminology is outlined in order to better comprehend and reveal the essence of the concept and structure of the terms. The emphasis is laid on the technique of introducing highly specialized terminology. Thus the process of foreign language classes organization makes it possible to master professional texts in the original. The authors maintain that main methods of rendering contemporary English military vocabulary (single- and multi-component terminology, abbreviations and shortenings, set terminological units, neologisms) into Ukrainian are as follows: lexical equivalent translation, transformation translation borrowing (transcription / transliteration), descriptive translation, loan translation and others. The difficulties in rendering military vocabulary of the NATO publications are related to the pragmatic aspects of translation.

The publication exposes the outcomes of a research on topicality of leadership competency and leadership potential in the course of military students’ professional training at a technical university. Special attention is paid to analyzing the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Standard on speciality 254 “Support of the Army (forces) for the first (bachelor’s degree) level of higher education”. The article highlights the outcomes of a pilot research on the basis of: the “Psychogeometrical test” projective methodology, the “Leader” test, and the authors’ questionnaire to determine the leadership potential. On the outcomes of analyzing the respondents’ answers, a low level of leadership potential development was determined, which attests to an insufficient communication level, cadets’ narrow world outlook on various issues, passivity, lack of skills in and unwillingness to demonstrate persistence. By 95 % of respondents’ answers, the importance of studying leadership disciplines at a military institution of a technical higher education establishment has been proved. The professional training improvement for future officers-leaders has been substantiated in the article.

The social demands and expectations regarding the work of law enforcement agencies have never been so high as now; the surrounding society wants to see professional and humane police officers and to feel the effectiveness of their professional activities. The system of law enforcement agencies in recent years is in a state of permanent transformation, that is what aggravates the problem of quality training of its staff. It lies in the fact that, first, there are not enough applicants for the service, and second, the available candidates mostly do not fully correspond to the established decision criterion. This orients managers and practical psychologists of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to find and improve the ways to support and develop staff, to keep them in the workplace; it also focuses on the realization that employees are important and have potential opportunities and resources for self-development. The professional development of law enforcement agencies usually begins in departmental higher educational institutions, which determines the relevance of the study of psychological resources of the law enforcement agency`s personality at the stage of professional training and defines the aim of the current article. The complex of theoretical and empirical search methods was used during the study, in particular the method “Psychological Narrative Analysis of Crisis / Traumatic Events” developed by V. I. Shebanova. The sample consisted of 84 future law enforcement agencies who study and serve at the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. The study identified the main significant events in the life and attitude of law enforcement agencies at the teaching stage in the higher educational institutions with specific conditions. It is found that they can be divided into seven categories, in which there are important events common to military students: school; training and service activities in the higher educational institutions; family; difficult life events; losses; personal relationships; etc. It is determined that the most important life events happened to military students in the life period before entering higher educational institutions, which should focus on finding resources in psychological support to the autobiographical narrative of the individual. The range of military students' psychological resources is identified, including emotional experiences of pleasant events, interaction with significant relatives, “adult” reassessment of situations and positive thinking, finding new connections and contacts, awareness of target requests and the impact of events on the future.

Numerous scientific studies report on the importance of improving the methodology of developing motor skills through martial arts, while identifying the links between these indices, which ensures an optimal level of motor training of subjects. In this paper are presented the results of the study on the existence of correlative links between the indices of motor skills development and the level of mastery of the technique of the martial arts elements. For this purpose, a test was carried out in which the military students (first year) of the "Henri Coandă" Air Force Academy from Brasov participated. The test results confirmed the existence of a reciprocal link, highlighting significant interdependencies between the indices obtained. The analysis of the correlation of the parameters of motor skills and the level of mastery of technical elements in martial arts allow us to mention that the intensity of links is significant at high and medium levels in most cases, which reflects the fact that the indices influence each other.

Indonesia and Spain have established diplomatic relations since 1958, mainly in the defense sector. However, in its implementation, several problems occur, are the budget limitation, the financial crisis in Spain, the lack of human and technological resources in Indonesia, and the presence of assembly problems on CN-295. This study aims to analyze the form of defense diplomacy that occurred and the results of cooperation in fulfilling defense and security equipment in 2014-2018. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study in analyzing research. The results obtained show that the implementation of defense diplomacy carried out by Indonesia and Spain in 2014-2018 has been going well, proved by the bilateral dialogue forum, activities of visiting state officials, the production of nine units of CN-295 and KRI Bima Suci as defense weapon system products, and an exchange of military students to create a stronger national defense.

Abstract The idea of elaborating this article came to me after reading over and over again the content of Art.2 paragraph (1) of the National Education Law no.1 / 2011, with subsequent amendments and completions, a very important normative act for the present, but especially for the future of Romania, according to which „The law aims to promote an education oriented on values, creativity, cognitive abilities, volitional abilities and action capacities, fundamental knowledge and competencies/skills and abilities of direct utility, in the professional life and in the society. Anyone who reads the content of Art.2 paragraph (1) is entitled to believe that the most efficient secondary and higher education in the world is taking place in Romania. Unfortunately, when reading and analyzing the content of Art.3, it can be seen quite easily that the principles governing secondary and higher education, as well as lifelong learning in Romania have a more declarative character, i.e. there is one thing written on paper and something else is happening in reality. I would like to continue to talk about this, with arguments, supported by my knowledge and experience in the field of education, starting with September 1979, when I first entered a classroom consisting of military students, from the highly flattering position of instructor and educator and until now, after a lifetime of working in classrooms, laboratories, amphitheatres and auditoriums of several military and civilian higher education institutions, in the honorary position of university professor doctor habilitat and chairman of the University Ethics Commission.

A continuing debate in feminist scholarship on gender, security, and the military has been whether militaries can facilitate feminist progress and be forces for good. Feminists committed to working outside of militaries note that gender perspectives have often been used to advance the military’s goals of winning wars rather than commitments to feminist social transformation of military institutions and societies. However, influences from international normative frameworks on Women, Peace and Security; Canada’s feminist foreign policy; and an emphasis on diversity and inclusion within Canada’s Defence Policy have presented the Canadian Armed Forces with a solid platform from which it has begun to make change. The central tenets of this broad feminist platform have begun to permeate Canadian Professional Military Education (PME) through the collective efforts of educators, staff, and military students at Canada’s defence colleges. Drawing on a review of policy and programmes as well as a qualitative analysis of interviews with educators, staff, and military students, the article demonstrates that feminist transformational change by military members is possible by exploring its nascent reality. The article highlights the challenges and benefits of incorporating feminist perspectives in Canadian PME and demonstrates how and under what conditions military graduates with this education have begun to apply gender and cultural learning to make local feminist interventions both within and outside their institution. Ultimately, this research shows that collective efforts toward localized and incremental changes by military members are paving the way for meaningful feminist progress within the military.
