<p align="justify">Modern human life now is living in and with social media. Social media with the power of the internet network influences the lives and actions of modern humans, including youth, and students. With the character of the network, providing fast information, archiving a lot of data, interactive, and creating content freely, social media can be seen as the most popular media, compared to conventional media, such as radio, television, magazines, and newspapers. There are many benefits obtained from social media as a learning medium to get to know the world more broadly. However, there are also many dangers posed by the use of social media. The dangers that arise can come from health, social, and even social ethical and moral problems. For this reason, the use of social media should follow generally accepted ethical standards in society. Adhering to ethical standards is the key to placing social media as public media. Social media is a tool that serves the public's need for information. The ethics of using social media is a gate keeper for filtering information. With ethics, the use of social media can be directed towards responsible and meaningful self-development in life together. Self-development can occur when social media is used from the context of needs, especially learning needs, making friends, and building positive networks with others. Social media is a reality that cannot be denied, but we can adjust it as needed.</p><p align="justify"><em> </em></p>

AbstractSocial media has become a modern arena for human life, with billions of daily users worldwide. The intense popularity of social media is often attributed to a psychological need for social rewards (likes), portraying the online world as a Skinner Box for the modern human. Yet despite such portrayals, empirical evidence for social media engagement as reward-based behavior remains scant. Here, we apply a computational approach to directly test whether reward learning mechanisms contribute to social media behavior. We analyze over one million posts from over 4000 individuals on multiple social media platforms, using computational models based on reinforcement learning theory. Our results consistently show that human behavior on social media conforms qualitatively and quantitatively to the principles of reward learning. Specifically, social media users spaced their posts to maximize the average rate of accrued social rewards, in a manner subject to both the effort cost of posting and the opportunity cost of inaction. Results further reveal meaningful individual difference profiles in social reward learning on social media. Finally, an online experiment (n = 176), mimicking key aspects of social media, verifies that social rewards causally influence behavior as posited by our computational account. Together, these findings support a reward learning account of social media engagement and offer new insights into this emergent mode of modern human behavior.

But what is happening today, some Shariah criminal behavior, especially in relation to ethics, can occur easily using facilities technology driven by technological ingenuity. If the application of existing legal provisions is limited and has obstacles for enforcement purposes, then the problem needs to be overcome due to development the law should be in line with current developments. The study aims to identify a segment and cases of the moral crisis on social media and online using the artificial intelligence (AI) application and to identify the needs for shariah prevention. This thesis uses qualitative approaches, adopts library-based research, and, by content analysis of documents, applies the literature review approach. The findings show that the use of social media and AI technology has had an impact on various issues such as moral crisis, security, misuse, an intrusion of personal data, and the construction of AI beyond human control. Thus, the involvement and cooperation of various parties are needed in regulating and addressing issues that arise as a result of the use of social media and AI technology in human life.

Background: Despite the ever-increasing use of social media (e.g., Facebook, Twitter) little is known about its use in medical school admissions. This qualitative study explores whether and how social media (SM) is used in undergraduate admissions in Canada, and the attitudes of admissions personnel towards such use. Methods: Phone interviews were conducted with admissions deans and nominated admissions personnel. A qualitative descriptive analysis was performed using iterative coding and comparing, and grouping data into themes. Results: Personnel from 15 of 17 Canadian medical schools participated. A sizeable proportion had, at some point, examined social media (SM) profiles to acquire information on applicants. Participants did not report using it explicitly to screen all applicants (primary use); however, several did admit to looking at SM to follow up on preliminary indications of misbehaviour (secondary use). Participants articulated concerns, such as validity and equity, about using SM in admissions. Despite no schools having existing policy, participants expressed openness to future use.   Conclusions: While some of the 15 schools had used SM to acquire information on applicants, criteria for formulating judgments were obscure, and participants expressed significant apprehension, based on concerns for fairness and validity. Findings suggest participant ambivalence and ongoing risks associated with “hidden” selection practices.

BACKGROUND The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a global disruption, starting with a public health emergency, followed by a significant loss of human life and a severe economic and social fallout. As physical distancing regulations were introduced to manage outbreaks, individuals, groups and communities took to social media to express their thoughts and emotions reflecting different behaviours. This has led to increased interaction on social media thereby recording diverse behaviours of people as the pandemic progressed. OBJECTIVE This research aims to explore the human behaviours recorded on the digital traces of social media during the pandemic. The investigation is focused on examining the emotions, emotion state and intensity changes, topical associations and different groups of people using social media conversations that uncover informed insights on behaviours during the COVID-19 pandemic. METHODS Our study explores emotion classifications, intensities, transitions, profiles and alignment to key themes and topics, across the four stages of the pandemic; declaration of a global health crisis, first lockdown, easing of restrictions, and the second lockdown. This study employs a human-centric artificial intelligence (AI) based framework comprising of natural language processing, emotion modelling, unsupervised clustering methods that are collectively used to investigate the social media conversations. The investigation was carried out using 73,000 Twitter conversations related to Australia from January to September 2020. RESULTS The outcomes of this study enabled to analyse and visualise different emotion behaviours and concerns reflected on social media during the COVID-19 pandemic. First, the topic analysis showed the diverse and common concerns people have expressed during the four stages of the pandemic. It was noted that starting from personal level concerns, the concerns expressed over social media has escalated to broader concerns over time. Second, the emotion intensity and emotions state transitions showed that ‘fear’ and ‘sad’ emotions were more prominently expressed at first, however, they transition into ‘anger’ and ‘disgust’ over time. Negative emotions except ‘sad’ were significantly higher (P < .05) in the second lockdown showing increased frustration. Emotion state changes during these stages were visualised to comprehend the change in emotions over time. Third, based on the concerns expressed social media users were categorized into profiles. The profiles in the first lockdown differed from the profiles in the second lockdown showing the shift of concerns as the pandemic progressed. CONCLUSIONS This study showed diverse emotion behaviours and concerns recorded on social media during the COVID-19 pandemic. While this study establishes the use of social media to discover informed insights during a time where physical communication is impossible the outcomes also contribute towards post-pandemic recovery and understanding people’s emotions better during crises. The study exploits AI and social media to enhance our understanding of human behaviours in global emergencies, leading to improved planning and policymaking for future crises.

The increase in social networking media, online and distance counseling, and the ubiquitous use of laptops, hand-held devices, and internet connected devices at home and in work settings have resulted in the need for ethical standards to help guide rehabilitation professionals in service delivery. In response, the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) has incorporated Section J: Technology and Distance Counseling into the CRCC Code of Ethics. Additionally, the CRCC released a social media policy on their website. However, specific ethical standards addressing the use of social media have not been implemented. The purpose of this manuscript is to address potential issues that can arise in interacting with clients through social media. Specifically, we will discuss the following areas: (1) digital immigrants and natives, (2) social media mechanics, (3) advantages of using social media, (4) disadvantages of using social media, (5) social media and the CRCC Code of Ethics, (6) using social media professionally, privately, or not at all, and (7) implementing a social media policy. Discussion and recommendations are provided.
