The aim of this paper is to show how engaging students in real-life mathematical situations can stimulate their mathematical creative thinking. We analyzed the mathematical modeling of two girls, aged 10 and 13 years, as they worked on an authentic task involving the selection of a track team. The girls displayed several modeling cycles that revealed their thinking processes, as well as cognitive and affective features that may serve as the foundation for a methodology that uses model-eliciting activities to promote the mathematical creative process.Exploración de la creatividad de jóvenes estudiantes: el efecto de actividades que suscitan modelosEl objetivo de este artículo es mostrar cómo involucrar a los estudiantes en situaciones matemáticas de la vida real puede estimular su pensamiento matemático creativo. AbstractMany real-life datasets are imbalanced in nature, which implies that the number of samples present in one class (minority class) is exceptionally less compared to the number of samples found in the other class (majority class). Hence, if we directly fit these datasets to a standard classifier for training, then it often overlooks the minority class samples while estimating class separating hyperplane(s) and as a result of that it missclassifies the minority class samples. To solve this problem, over the years, many researchers have followed different approaches. However the selection of the true representative samples from the majority class is still considered as an open research problem. A better solution for this problem would be helpful in many applications like fraud detection, disease prediction and text classification. Also, the recent studies show that it needs not only analyzing disproportion between classes, but also other difficulties rooted in the nature of different data and thereby it needs more flexible, self-adaptable, computationally efficient and real-time method for selection of majority class samples without loosing much of important data from it. Keeping this fact in mind, we have proposed a hybrid model constituting Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), a popular swarm intelligence-based meta-heuristic algorithm, and Ring Theory (RT)-based Evolutionary Algorithm (RTEA), a recently proposed physics-based meta-heuristic algorithm. We have named the algorithm as RT-based PSO or in short RTPSO. RTPSO can select the most representative samples from the majority class as it takes advantage of the efficient exploration and the exploitation phases of its parent algorithms for strengthening the search process. We have used AdaBoost classifier to observe the final classification results of our model. The effectiveness of our proposed method has been evaluated on 15 standard real-life datasets having low to extreme imbalance ratio. The performance of the RTPSO has been compared with PSO, RTEA and other standard undersampling methods. The obtained results demonstrate the superiority of RTPSO over state-of-the-art class imbalance problem-solvers considered here for comparison. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have become very popular in the last decade due to some advantages such as strong terrain adaptation, low cost, zero casualties, and so on. One of the most interesting advances in this field is the automation of mission planning (task allocation) and real-time replanning, which are highly useful to increase the autonomy of the vehicle and reduce the operator workload. These automated mission planning and replanning systems require a Human Computer Interface (HCI) that facilitates the visualization and selection of plans that will be executed by the vehicles. In addition, most missions should be assessed before their real-life execution. This paper extends QGroundControl, an open-source simulation environment for flight control of multiple vehicles, by adding a mission designer that permits the operator to build complex missions with tasks and other scenario items; an interface for automated mission planning and replanning, which works as a test bed for different algorithms, and a Decision Support System (DSS) that helps the operator in the selection of the plan. In this work, a complete guide of these systems and some practical use cases are provided

Abstract This article focuses on a mathematical description of the emotional phenomenon. The key concept is to consider emotions as an energy, and to rely on the analogy with the electromagnetic waves. Our aim is to provide a mathematical approach to characterize the emergence of emotional fluxes in the human psyche. This goes beyond classical pscychological approaches. In this setting, specific emotions correspond to specific frequencies and our psychic state results from the summation of different characteristic frequencies. Our general model of psychic state is a dynamical system whose evolution results from interactions between external inputs and internal reactions. The model provides both qualitative (frequencies) and quantitative (intensity) components. It aims to be applied to real life situations (in particular in work environments) and we provide a typical example which naturally leads to a problem of control.

Introduction. The study investigates the problem of developing mathematical literacy. The purpose of the article is to reveal the specifics of developing and assessing schoolchildren’s mathematical literacy. Materials and Methods. The research is based on the concept and model of mathematical literacy defined for the OECD Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). The main research methods include an analysis of mathematics teachers’ experiences and an analysis of the structure of mathematical literacy tasks. Results. The article presents an analysis of the conceptual foundations of developing schoolchildren’s mathematical literacy. The authors identified and structured the characteristic features of the tasks aimed at forming mathematical literacy, described the main approaches to their development, based on the use of model schemes and mathematical modeling. The links between the contexts of real-life situations and the content areas of the school mathematics course were traced. The complete process of working with mathematical models is illustrated by tasks arising in life situations. The authors revealed the main approaches to the development of tasks, designed to form mathematical literacy, based on the model schemes and the process of mathematical modeling. Conclusions. In conclusion, the authors summarize stages of designing mathematical literacy tasks and the requirements to the approaches of their development. The conclusion is made about the possibility of using model schemes as a reference for mathematical literacy tasks.

Based on research, milennials have one prominent character over the past generations, it is creative thinking. after several studies milenials have a huge interest on fashion and craft, as seen on their creative activity both In real life and digital life related to it. Indonesian Creative Entrepreneurs nowadays are dominated with Millennials1. But what prevent their bussinesses from growing are the synergy inbetween that is too complicated, waisting their time and money. Creative Hub is a space, sustainably supporting creative entrepreneurs and people to gather, collaborate, and grow. Createur itself is a combination of Creative and Entrepreneur. Createur located near Pasar Baru, a historic shopping center that supply various things related to fashion and craft, there are also skilled workers related. Design method that was used is Pattern Language by studying physical pattern around site and recreating new pattern associated with the building programs produced. Createur in this case provide various kinds of facilty related from idea searching, designing, producing, to publishing. Milenials that was working inside the Creative Hub can easily jump to the field discovering materials. watching the skilled workers, and practice directly inside the Creative Hub. AbstrakBerdasarkan pengkajian, milenials memiliki satu karakteristik yang menonjol dari generasi sebelumnya, yakni berpikir kreatif. Setelah melakukan beberapa studi milenials memiliki minat yang besar terhadap bidang Fashion dan Kriya, hal ini terlihat dari banyaknya aktivitas kreatif milenials baik di dunia nyata maupun di dunia maya yang terkait dengan kedua hal tersebut. Pelaku usaha kreatif di indonesia saat ini didominasi oleh Milenials. Namun yang menjadi penghalang berkembangnya usaha kreatif milenials adalah sinergi usaha yang terlalu rumit dan membuang banyak waktu dan biaya. Pusat Kreativitas adalah ruang yang secara berkelanjutan mendukung pelaku usaha kreatif dan orang-orang untuk berkumpul, berkolaborasi, dan berkembang. Createur sendiri adalah gabungan dari creative dan entrepreneur yang artinya adalah pelaku usaha kreatif. Hybrid-modality brain-computer Interfaces (BCIs), which combine motor imagery (MI) bio-signals and steady-state visual evoked potentials (SSVEPs), has attracted wide attention in the research field of neural engineering. The number of channels should be as small as possible for real-life applications. However, most of recent works about channel selection only focus on either the performance of classification task or the effectiveness of device control. Few works conduct channel selection for MI and SSVEP classification tasks simultaneously. In this paper, a multitasking-based multiobjective evolutionary algorithm (EMMOA) was proposed to select appropriate channels for these two classification tasks at the same time. Moreover, a two-stage framework was introduced to balance the number of selected channels and the classification accuracy in the proposed algorithm. The experimental results verified the feasibility of multiobjective optimization methodology for channel selection of hybrid BCI tasks.

Abstact - Research has been conducted to develop a Model-Eliciting Activities (MEAs) handout with multiple representations that are feasible and able to improve students' mathematical modeling abilities. The research design refers to ADDIE namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This research was conducted in SMA Negeri 2 Purworejo with research subjects in a limited trial of 10 students, and 32 students in the application phase. Product trials using a posttest-only control design. Data collection techniques using observation, questionnaires and tests. The results of data analysis namely the quality of handouts can be seen from the aspects of validation, the implementation of learning, students' responses to the handouts and completeness of learning outcomes. The results of the MEAs handout validation with multiple representations of three validators, namely two expert lecturers and physics teachers with an overall assessment score of 3.52 (very good). The percentage of the learning outcomes of the four meetings was 90.39% (very good). Students' responses to the handout obtained a percentage of 84.51% (good). The percentage of completeness of learning outcomes using handouts in the experimental class was 78.13%. Increasing or not the ability of mathematical modeling using hypothesis testing with t-test statistics obtained t-count of 4.548 where the magnitude of t table is 2,000 with a significant level of 0.05. H0 is rejected if the test criteria in the hypothesis test are t_count> t_table = 4,548> 2,000 then the use of Model-Eliciting Activities (MEAs) handouts with multiple representations can improve mathematical modeling abilities. The assessment results indicate that the developed handouts have good quality and can improve mathematical modeling abilities.
