The purpose of this community service activity scheme for the Regional Superior Product Development Program is to overcome the problem of the Malay tapai partner since 2008, namely the texture of the prouduk that hardens before expiration, the processing process is still conventional and the packaging process is inefficient and ineffective. This greatly affects the efforts of PPPUD partners in advancing their business. The methods used are training, mentoring and activity evaluation. The result of this activity is that the texture of the tapai Malay diamond is softer and more durable using Stabilex BR. The processing process is more efficient because partners use a crystallization evaporator which can save 3 hours with the same quantity of dough. The packaging of tapai malay diamonds has undergone a more contemporary change and shortens the time in the packaging and consumption process in the minds of consumers. This PPPUD activity is very beneficial for partners, it is proven that the problems faced by PPPUD partners can be resolved properly, this is the important role of academics in advancing SMEs.

The partner in this community service activity is students of Al Hidayah Senior High School in Mojokerto, who has a business in making ginger drinks “Jahe Sehat”. This training aimed to increase partner’s knowledge and skill about sanitation hygiene and production management. The manufacturing process starts from the preparation of raw materials, namely ginger, extraction, cooking, sieving, packaging and labeling to marketing. It was found that healthy ginger producers still do not understand the importance of hygiene and sanitation in the production process, unattractive packaging designs and no good financial cash planning system. The community service team conducts training and outreach to solve the partner's problems. By carrying out this service activity, partners increase partner’ skills and knowledge and the healthy ginger product "jahe sehat al-hidayah" has an attractive packaging.

The central assumption of publicly-supported market development programs is that providing resources to local entrepreneurs and strengthening the business environments fosters the emergence of self-sustaining local energy access ventures. We explore this assumption by applying a business model lens to analyze how participation in a market development program affects the development of local energy access ventures. Using the domestic biogas market development program in Rwanda as our case, we evaluate program design, the role of local entrepreneurs and interactions between participating ventures and the coordinating office to determine how market development programs contribute to a self-sustaining private energy sector. While providing a detailed framework for local ventures, the business model offers entrepreneurs few possibilities to act entrepreneurial and exploit local opportunities. Consequently, such programs will attract necessity-driven rather than opportunity- and growth-driven entrepreneurs, causing concern for the achievement of program objectives and the establishment of a self-sustaining private sector.
