The article focuses on the study of semantics of comparisons as markers of basic emotions in Ukrainian heroic-fantastic fairy tales translated into German. In the fi eld of linguistics, the comparison transforms from logical to artistic correlating with the type of poetic thinking which forms, develops, changes, and evolves within the cultural and historical development of mankind in general and ethnos in particular. The methodological basis of the semantics of comparisons as markers of basic emotions is formed by the anthropocentric paradigm of modern linguistics (F. S. Batsevych, E. S. Kubryakova, and V. A. Maslova). The terminological apparatus of the study is outlined through the method of defi nitive analysis, whereas the semantic content of the apparatus is revealed through the method of etymological analysis with the use of the methods of comparative analysis. The methods of interpretive-textual and cultural-historical analyses were used to distinguish connotative and situational meanings relevant to the objectifi cation of basiс emotions. The application of the method of stylistic analysis of tropes allowed establishing the poetic features of comparisons and their stylistic color/stylistic neutrality as well as to better understand the idea of a heroic act. To reveal the mechanisms of the processes of materialization and diff erentiation of knowledge on basic emotions, elements of the method of modeling the conceptual system of the emotional state of a fairy-tale character have been involved. The author comes to the conclusion that etymology of the terms “heroism” and “fi ction” is diff erent and that the process of choosing the transformation of body shape correlates with the situation, esoteric knowledge, and magic of things around the world. Furthermore, in fairy tales, the man and nature form one whole, and people, plants and imaginary supernatural beings experience emotions and feelings. The classifi cation of semantic models of comparisons as markers of basic emotions is off ered, and the quality of emotional experience is traced. Perceptual notation in the Russian folk fairy-talePerceptual notation captures information received from different sense organs but predicated by the same consciousness of “a perceived human being”. In the cognitive context semantics of sensory nominations reflects elements of the perceptual concept. The fact that the verbalization of its facultative elements depends not only on the type of discourse folklore, genre a tale, but also on its subtype a fairy-tale is claimed to be a hypothesis of this research. It settles that in the Russian folk fairy-tale the semantics of perceptual notation is predicated by the opposition “real — irreal world” and the semantics element “fabulous, belonging to the other world” is a basis of the semantic content of the perceptual notation. Besides that, the perceptual semantics in this type of fairy tales correlates with the aesthetical, axiological views of the folklore community on nature and human beings, reconstructing the folk ideal or ant-ideal. Перцептивне означення у російській народній чарівнiй казціПерцептивне означення фіксує інформацію, що надходить від різних органів чуттів, але обумовлену єдиною свідомістю «людини сприймаючої». У когнітивному плані семантика номінацій сенсорики відображає ознаки перцептивного концепту. Те, що вербалізація його факультативних ознак залежить не тільки від типу дискурсу фольклор, жанру казка, але і від підвиду жанру чарівна казка, становить гіпотезу даного дослідження. Встановлюєть­ся що в російській народній чарівній казці семантика перцептивної номінації обумовлена опозицією «реальний- ірреальний світ» і семантична ознака ‘чудовий, що належить іншому світу’ є основою змісту перцептивного означення. Крім того, в даній групі казок перцептивна семантика співвідноситься з естетичними, аксіологічними поглядами фольклорного соціуму на природу і людину, реконструюючи народний ідеал або антиідеал.

The subject matter of the present paper is the linguo - stylistic and psychological analysis of Rudyard Kipling’s “Just So Stories” as emotional means to motivate children to study English as a foreign language. “Just So Stories” are tales for children, where the author tells how the world, surrounding the child, was created, why everything in this world is “just so”, answers the questions that children like to ask so much: “what and why and when and how and where and who?” For children, who are not adapted to studying, and who achieve information with the help of games, fairy tales in general and Kipling’s “Just so stories” in particular serve as a ground for not only developing the intellect, sense of humor and imagination of children, but also take away all boundaries in perceiving information in a foreign language and enhance interest towards the origin of familiar and unusual things. The knowledge, contained in tales is inmost and conveys great information about animals, people, the world they live in and the interrelation of everything in life. Fairy tales develop not only the imagination of children but also establish some kind of bridge between the fantasy and the real life. Fairy tale reading attracts children, increases the motivation of learning a foreign language. Tale has an impact on children’s emotional state: it reduces anxiety, fear and confusion and gives food for perception, empathy and communication with favorite heroes, creates a fairy atmosphere full of enthusiasm and joy. The importance of the fact that all "just so stories" end with a poem cannot be underestimated. Firstly, poems and chants are short, emotionally colored and easy to remember. Secondly, poetic texts are great materials for practicing rhythm, intonation of a foreign speech and for improving the pronunciation. And thirdly, multiple repetitions of foreign words and word combinations with the help of poems do not seem artificial. Accordingly, the use of poetry contributes to the development of different language skills, like reading, listening and speaking.

SummaryIn the mid-19th century Vuk Stefanović Karadžić collected folk tales in the broader South-Slavic region and published them in a collection titled Serbian Folk Tales. Folk fairy tales make the major part of the collection. In this paper, the authors determine the folk fairy tale structure according to the methodology proposed by Vladimir Propp in the Morphology of the Folktale. The aim of the paper is to investigate, whether these fairy tales can be fully described using Propp’s Morphology. Propp’s model of the meta-folk fairy tale was developed inductively based on a rich, comprehensive, yet limited, corpus of Russian folk fairy tales, which opens up space for further testing of the proposed model.The hypothesis was set that the analyzed folk fairy tales completely conform to the plot structure of the meta-folk fairy tale with a maximum of 31 functions as proposed by Propp. The hypothesis is grounded in: 1. the time when the folktales were collected (mid-19th century, the same time as the Russian collection analyzed by Propp) and 2. the similarity of the South Slavic peoples with the peoples of the Slavic East.However, after categorial and structural analyses of the corpus were performed, it was clear that the hypothesis could not be accepted in its entirety. In the analyzed folk fairy tales, no new functions were found as compared to the 31 functions identified by Propp, but some of these functions were altered as compared to those to be expected in folk tales. This alteration occurred not only regarding the changed order of functions, assimilation and cases of dual morphological meanings of functions, but also in terms of the fantastic category of the marvelous, which is the core feature of the fairy tale genre, whose nature was changed. The study identified the rationalization of some magical motifs, which partially mitigates the quality of the miraculous in the fairy tale and found out that, in some cases, the marvelous was mitigated and “shifted” towards the (merely) fantastic. This was achieved by introducing oniric elements. One of the important conclusions of our study of the fairy tale is that these fairy tales, although labeled as folk tales, feature significant authorial intervention.

The relevance of the study of the conditioned capabilities of society for the development of active, successful, harmoniously developed, self-sufficient personality, that is capable of effective communication with other people. This becomes possible due to the high level of development emotional intelligence. The purpose of the article is to determine the leading features of the development of emotional intelligence of children of senior preschool. Theoretical methods used: analysis, synthesis, systematization, generalization, classification, etc. The essence of the leading categories is determined, in particular: «emotional intelligence», «emotional intelligence of children of senior preschool»; the leading features of its development at this age stage are characterized. Thus, the leading features of the development of emotional intelligence of a senior preschooler include: active development of the emotional sphere of a child; expansion of social contacts, which affects the intensity and quality of communication with others on the one hand, on the other − helps to navigate the diversity of emotional states of people, promotes the accumulation of emotional experience in senior preschoolers; expanding the range of emotions that a child is able to recognize, their verbalization; formation of ability for the volitional regulation of emotional manifestations against the background of situationality; formation of emotional decentration and the formation of ability for the emotional foresight. Instead, a fundamentally important thesis on the development of emotional intelligence of senior preschoolers still needs systematic, purposeful work by adults in this direction, because it is difficult for a child to recognize the causes of emotional state, effectively regulate emotions and build an adequate model of behaviour based on emotions they demonstrate. Prospects for further research on the development of emotional intelligence of senior preschoolers are identified.

According to the results of the study in the main group of patients who received complex treatment (IPP and neuroleptic), there was a significant positive dynamics of the main clinical manifestations, compared with the control group. All patients reported a significant decrease in the intensity of heartburn and pain.The use of probulin with vegetative-corrective action in the complex treatment of patients with GERD with vegetative dystonia syndrome allowed to more effectively stop the painful manifestations and reduce the emotional experience of bodily discomfort, improve the emotional state and mental health of patients, as well as improve their quality of life.

The Russian fairy tale within the school education is a major object of case study and comprehension. The systematic study has an important scientific and methodological potential for both university and school education. Only by adherting to the plan of methodological interpretations in relation to this object, it is possible to identify several ways to effectively develop the creative potential of students, to relieve the psycho-emotional stress that naturally occurs in the learning process. The fairy tale also provides great historical and cultural material that opens up the history of the country, cultural traditions and customs. The study of fairy tales at school and university should comply with the developed methodological principles but also the undoubted age interests and students needs, contain a moral and useful semantic content. The teacher should draw the attention to the fact that the fairy tale is seen as a psychological relief by children, it gives them the opportunity to dive in the magic world, have fun and take a break from the learning process. The approach to study may be different depending on the age of students. However, the major principle of fairy tales study is inextricably linked with the concept of edutainment, i.e. the combined experience of a game technique that can be presented in various models and formats. In this regard, the issue of applying personality-oriented learning technology is relevant. This article solves the exact problem interpreted on the basis of a certain experience.

Introduction.Coccygodynia is a multidisciplinary disease which is diffi cult to treat. It seriously limits the ability to work and signifi cantly affects the quality of life of patients. The study of somatic dysfunctions in patients with coccygodynia and the analysis of the results of osteopathic treatment of such patients makes it possible to justify the necessity of osteopathic correction of coccygodynia.Goal of the study— to determine the structure of the leading somatic dysfunctions in patients with coccygodynia and to study the effectiveness of osteopathic treatment of this pathology.Materials and methods.The study involved 44 patients from 25 to 65 years old, randomly divided into two groups. The main group of 24 people (20 women and 4 men) received osteopathic treatment, in accordance with the identifi ed leading somatic dysfunctions. Patients of the control group (16 women and 4 men) were treated locally with soft manual techniques (the treatment area was limited by the pelvic region). In order to assess the results of the treatment, we examined the intensity of the pain syndrome and the psycho-emotional state of patients. The severity of the pain syndrome was assessed in accordance with the visual analogue scale (VAS). The psycho-emotional state (with physical and mental components) was assessed with the help of the SF-36 quality of life questionnaire.Results.Somatic dysfunctions typical for patients with coccygodynia have been identifi ed. Osteopathic treatment has proven to be more effective in comparison with local manual therapy of coccygodynia both in early periods and in 3 months after the end of the treatment course.Conclusion.Osteopathic treatment of post-traumatic coccygodynia is effective, and can be recommended for treatment of such patients.

This article discusses the implied ‘vulgarity’ and playfulness of children's literature within the broader concept of the carnivalesque as defined by Mikhail Bakhtin in Rabelais and His World (1965) and further contextualised by John Stephens in Language and Ideology in Children's Fiction (1992). Carnivalesque adaptations of fairy tales are examined by situating them within Cristina Bacchilega's contemporary construct of the ‘fairy-tale web’, focusing on the arenas of parody and intertextuality for the purpose of detecting crucial changes in children's culture in relation to the social construct and ideology of adulthood from the Golden Age of children's literature onward. The analysis is primarily concerned with Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes (1982) and J. K. Rowling's The Tales of Beedle the Bard (2007/2008) as representative examples of the historically conditioned empowerment of the child consumer. Marked by ambivalent laughter, mockery and the degradation of ‘high culture’, the interrogative, subversive and ‘time out’ nature of the carnivalesque adaptations of fairy tales reveals the striking allure of contemporary children's culture, which not only accommodates children's needs and preferences, but also is evidently desirable to everybody.

This book explores the legacy of the Brothers Grimm in Europe and North America, from the nineteenth century to the present. The book reveals how the Grimms came to play a pivotal and unusual role in the evolution of Western folklore and in the history of the most significant cultural genre in the world—the fairy tale. Folklorists Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm sought to discover and preserve a rich abundance of stories emanating from an oral tradition, and encouraged friends, colleagues, and strangers to gather and share these tales. As a result, hundreds of thousands of wonderful folk and fairy tales poured into books throughout Europe and have kept coming. The book looks at the transformation of the Grimms' tales into children's literature, the Americanization of the tales, the “Grimm” aspects of contemporary tales, and the tales' utopian impulses. It shows that the Grimms were not the first scholars to turn their attention to folk tales, but were vital in expanding readership and setting the high standards for folk-tale collecting that continue through the current era. The book concludes with a look at contemporary adaptations of the tales and raises questions about authenticity, target audience, and consumerism. The book examines the lasting universal influence of two brothers and their collected tales on today's storytelling world.
