Advantages and disadvantages of distance education of future dentists in Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy during quarantine were highlighted. It has been proved that quarantine is not an obstacle to learning, but a reason to study in a new way. In the era of the latest technologies such resources as Internet ones, platforms for online communication, and social networks are the main components for instructors. Different approach to present and perceive educational material is one of the main difficult components during distance education for instructors, students, interns and other audience. Both instructors and interns must master new skills in computer program for on-line communication. Adaptation and perception of distance education occurred in different ways. Majority notes that their time sheet during distance education increased, but opportunities for new methods of training also enhanced. Somebody did not take new method of training because full instructors’ control is absent, so it is necessary to motivate interns to training and self-control. Besides, patient communication should be real not theoretical for future physicians. Development of problem situations, video presentations, and video material prompts to mastering of individual practical skills. So, the experiences in distance education and mastering of dental disciplines by students, interns, physicians give an opportunity to reconstruct educational process in accordance with requirements of modernity for further integration in European (worldwide) medical spread.

The purpose of the study. We analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of distance training of interns of various specialties for the licensed integrated exam "Krok-3" by studying the opinions of the subjects of training. Materials and methods. More than 200 anonymous questionnaires of first-year interns in various specialties were analyzed. The survey was conducted on a five-point system. If the respondent had not wanted to answer any item of the questionnaire, in the corresponding column he put a mark "0". A comparative analysis of the results of testing the interns in the areas of "General Medicine" and "Dentistry" has been carried out. Distance learning means such an organization of the educational process in which the main attention is paid to the independent training of an intern doctor. Our previous studies have shown that most interns can master large volumes of educational material. Therefore, according to the subject of the cycle, we have developed a number of microlectures in the form of voiced multimedia presentations for self-preparation of interns for classes, which were approved by the CMC of the Academy. At the end of each section, there is a considerable list of questions for self-control and a selection of test tasks on the topic. For self-preparation, we also offer clinical lectures texts copies of the department staff, published in professional scientific publications. Results and discussion. According to the results of an anonymous survey, 58.8% of respondents in the medical profile consider the "Emergencies" on-line cycle very significant for the preparation to a licensed exam, 35.3% - important, and only 5.1% - not paramount. Among interns-dentists, only 26.3% of the respondents recognized our classes as very important for passing “Krok-3”, and 47.4% - not very serious, and 26.3% did not at all perceive the expediency of this cycle. It can be explained by the fact that the thematic plan of classes of somatic pathology, which our department conducts for interns-dentists, is a very small share of the special dental program. Only 26.5% of medical interns and 21.1% of dentists recognized the stimulating effect of “Krok-3” for mastering knowledge of emergency care, 44.1% and 15.8% of respondents consider it quite important, respectively, and 32.4% of medical interns and 63.1% of dentists do not consider it appropriate at all, they say, the exam itself does not contribute to the improvement of medical qualifications. Conclusion. Conducted on-line cycle "Emergencies" was generally quite highly appreciated by subjects of training in many qualitative components. Interns of the dental profile showed significantly less interest in the performed cycle due to its limited somatic pathology. The problem of the unfair attitude of interns to the means of control at our department has been completely solved in full-time education, but in the case of distance education, it requires an urgent search for ways to overcome it. The transition to distance learning during an epidemic is a forced, but the only possible measure that will preserve the health and life of the subjects of learning. This type of training requires careful study, optimization and adaptation to modern conditions

One of the higher-priority directions concerning improvement of the institution of general secondary education is the adaptation of teachers’ educational, scientific methodological and organizational activities to the modern challenges. The orientation of the new Ukrainian school to the world educational standards calls for new approaches to the organization of the educational process in institutions of general secondary education, the formation of up-to-date effective innovative competence of teacher-practitioners. In order to diagnose the level of formation of teachers’ innovative competence a summative experiment was conducted as a method to obtain and fix theoretical and empirical data. In the course of the research the criteria for innovative competence evaluation were developed, diagnostic tools were selected, diagnostic procedures and the analysis of the obtained results were conducted. A methodological workshop was held for teachers aimed at defining such basic concepts as «innovative pedagogical activity», «competence», «innovative competence» The level of the formation of teachers’ innovative competence was diagnosed taking into account its components, namely: operational (the formation of intellectual abilities, the quickness of mental operations, ability to solve problem situations), professionalvalue (motivation to obtain innovative competences, professional orientation, ability to self-control and urge for constant professional self- improvement, formation of individual style of pedagogical activity, professionally important personal qualities). Having generalized the results of applying various diagnostic methods (the technique «Six Thinking Hats» by Edward de Bono, the technique of studying the value scales by M. Rokeach, the diagnostic test «Readiness for self-development», «Strategies to form a higher level of basic need for cognition» by Palchevsky, «The methodology of limit meanings» by D. Leontiev) the level of formation of innovative competence of the teacher of the institution of general secondary education was determined.

"In Romania, schools were closed, courses were suspended on March 11, 2020. The Ministry of Education and Research sent teachers the recommendation to conduct online courses at home. Over the following weeks, this recommendation was supplemented by others, the Ministry recommend that teachers take online courses, without making them compulsory. On March 20, 2020, the Ministry of Education approved the Methodology on the distance continuation of the educational process in quarantine conditions that establishes the way to continue the educational process in primary, secondary and high school institutions in quarantine conditions. The methodology establishes the obligation to conduct distance learning courses through various online platforms (eg Viber, Whatsapp, Facebook, Google Classroom, Zoom, etc.) and allows the assessment of students during this period and the registration of grades in the catalog. The large number of platforms available online for conducting such courses, as well as the lack of a national or local decision on the use of a single platform, has generated quite a bit of confusion among teachers and especially among students. We wanted to find out the opinions of primary school teachers regarding the advantages and disadvantages they perceive regarding online teaching, through interviews with them."

It is quite important to effectively benefit from e-learning tools and environments which have dynamic structures in order to meet the learning needs of distance learners. E-Learning provides independence of time and space, student-centered, learner-controlled, flexible learning environments and equal educational opportunities. However, this flexibility has increased learners' self-cognition, self-control and self-responsibility for learning. In order for learners to cope with these issues, it is important to use metaphorical interfaces made up of metaphors as structures that provide clues to understand a new and complex concept, system or model. In this study, three main issues are discussed. These issues are e-learning and distance education, interface designs for distance education and metaphors in interface design. In the last part of the study, the advantages and disadvantages of metaphorical interface design in distance education are discussed. Based on these discussions, some important recommendations provided. The main purpose of this study is to discuss three main issues. These issues are e-learning and distance education, interface designs for distance education and metaphors in interface design. In the last part of the study, the advantages and disadvantages of the metaphorical interface design in distance education and e-learning environments will be discussed. Based on these discussions, some important recommendations will be provided.

The paper is dedicated to issues of distance education of applicants for scientific degrees — graduate students and doctoral students. In particular, the aim of the article is to determine the negative characteristics of distance education in higher education, while learning the information and communication technologies, including the postgraduate education, for formulating a comprehensive view of this format of education. Significant characteristics (peculiarities) of the distance education are outlined by author. They are: individualization of the educational process, indirect interaction of participants, and specialization of the environment. Essential advantages (objective need to optimize individual qualities and learning skills; more comfortable learning conditions than in the classroom; saving personal resources) and disadvantages (destruction of social relations; development of deep introverted qualities of the individual; gradual exclusion of the person from socialization; inability and / or unwillingness of individual tutors to adapt their professional skills to new conditions; inadequate level of technical support of the teaching staff, and in some places — students) of distance education are determined by the researcher on the basis of using of content-analysis of pieces for the content of features, mentioned above. The author's reasoning about the list of advantages and disadvantages of distance education is supported and expanded by the in-depth analysis of empirical sources, including scientific researches within the object of research. The advantages and disadvantages of distance postgraduate education according to the criterion of their nature are classified and three basic groups of advantages and disadvantages of the distance education are suggested. It is concluded that the reverse side of the "medal" in the form of distance education contains negative phenomena and processes of technical-technological, psychological and social-communicative nature. It is emphasized, that the consequences of psychological and social-communicative nature can be irreversible and lead to the complete destruction of an individual and the loss of social relations. It is indicated that the best option for further development of educational processes is the rational use of distance learning technologies as a supplement to traditional education.

COVID-19 pandemic has led to changes in all areas of human activity, and they have not escaped the education system. One of the new and most highly effective and, especially relevant, areas of improvement in the educational process of higher education is the use of distance learning. The aim of the research: to analyze the opportunities, advantages and disadvantages of using distance learning at a medical university. Distance learning is a form of learning with the use of computer and telecommunication technologies, which provide interaction of teachers and students at different stages of learning and independent work with materials from the information network. There are a number of platforms and applications as tools for effective, interesting and interactive learning: Moodle, Google Classroom, Zoom, Skype, Google Hangouts, WebEx, MyOwnConference, Microsoft Teams. Distance learning includes a set of the following components: providing educational material to the student; means of monitoring student performance; student consultations by the program-teacher; means of interactive cooperation between teacher and student; the ability to quickly add new information to the course, error correction. Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University uses Microsoft Teams as a tool for distance learning. Microsoft Teams is a state-of-the-art real-time video conferencing tool that integrates all Office 365 tools, gathers up to 300 participants, and holds meetings lasting up to 24 hours. Also, this service includes communication in general chat and personal messages, shared access to educational materials in various formats, access to the cloud environment, control of the level of knowledge can be carried out in the form of an oral interview and with the use of test tasks, sending files, it is possible to record video conferences, screen demonstrations, presentations, web pages, use the board. Distance learning has a number of advantages such as: flexibility, relevance, convenience, modularity, cost-effectiveness and the ability to simultaneously use a large amount of educational information for any number of students, interactivity, removing psychological barriers to communication, blurring borders, no direct contact between people, which allows to actively learn even during illness or self-isolation. However, despite these advantages, we should not forget about the disadvantages. Distance education requires a certain level of hardware and software. No matter how accessible computer distance education may seem, it requires the learner to have a computer and Internet access, which not everyone has. These also include: the need for a certain level of hardware and software, depersonalization of communication, negative impact on students' health, problems with mastering practical skills, lack of direct communication with patients, inability to participate in professors wardrounds, supervise patients. As for carrying out diagnostic procedures using special devices and tools, it is an indisputable fact: you can watch videos about a certain manipulation many times, you may perfect know the algorithm of its performance, but without ever trying to do it yourself, it is impossible to master this manipulation. Studying at a medical university has its own specifics, so distance learning cannot completely replace the traditional educational process and prepare future doctors for further practice.
