In general, this study aims to get a clear description of the events of speech acts in procession Temu Manten Javanese Traditional Wedding Ceremony containing prayers at every stage. The focus of this study include the stages of the procession Temu Manten, meaning each procession Temu Manten, and speech acts that occur at each stage of the procession Temu Manten containing prayers. This study was conducted over 6 months, in the City of Madiun. Based on research problems that have been set, the design of the study is a qualitative research design. The study looked at every procession that held in Temu Manten, and seek information from several informants or sources that exist. Informants in this study are the Messiah Rias and Shaman Manten. Data collection techniques used in this research is interview, observation, recording technique, refer to the technical, and engineering notes, whereas the data analysis technique used is an interactive model. From the research findings related to the focus of the research results as follows: (1) the stages of the procession retrieval manten on Marriage Indigenous Java from three different locations in the City of Madiun, all of them have a sequence of steps that together, (2) any procession Temu Manten has meaning that contain a request to Allah SWT (3) there is a non-verbal speech acts, namely the prayer said over the heart at any stage in the procession Temu Manten. Thus it can be concluded that there are religious values in the Speech Acts in procession Temu Manten Javanese Traditional Wedding Ceremony

Illocutionary speech act is an act of speech that has the intention of conveying information to its destination so that the speech partner does something. Illocutionary speech acts are found in all aspects of daily social interactions. It is also included in the interactions contained in a drama performance Do Not Sing in the Bathroom which is performed by the Tiang Theater, Jember University. According to Searle, the form of illocutionary speech acts consists of several forms, namely representative, directive, declarative, expressive, and commissive. This study uses a qualitative research design while the type of research used is descriptive which aims toproblems in accordance with reality based on facts. The data in this research is in the form of dialogues that are told by drama characters in the performance. The source of the data in this study is a video performance documentation. Data collection techniques used in this study were documentation techniques and data transcripts. The data analysis technique used in this study consisted of three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and data analysis procedures (preparation, implementation, and completion). The results of this study indicate that there are forms of illocutionary speech acts in the dialogue of the characters in the drama Prohibited from Singing in the Bathroom by Teater Tiang Universitas Jember, namely: representative, directive, expressive, declarative, and commissive. the illocutionary speech act functions of the drama characters. namely: competitive, convivial, collaborative / cooperation, and conflict. Support speech partners for the illocutionary speech acts received.

This study aims at describing how the teachers teach reading comprehension of narrative text to the tenth grade students in Sibolangit and revealing the underlying reasons of why do they do that way. This study was conducted by using qualitative research design. The subject of this study were two english teachers who taught at tenth grade students of two SMA in Sibolangit they are : SMA Negeri  1 Sibolangit  and SMA RK Deli Murni Bandar Baru in academic year 2016/ 2017. The data were analyzed by using Miles and Huberman data analysis technique. The  technique of collecting the data was recorded from the classroom process in teaching reading comprehension of narrative text. The findings of the study show that most of teachers’ ways are not yet focusing on teaching reading comprehension but rather focusing teaching the knowledge of genre. The underlying reason of the teachers’ ways in teaching reading comprehension did not facilitate reading comprehension. It was due to the misperception of the concept of teaching reading comprehension.  Keywords : Teaching,Reading Comprehension,Narrative Text.

Speech acts as an important element during communication, because it explains the thoughts of the speaker(s). A speech act is more about what is performed when uttering words and not about individual words or sentences that are known to form the basic elements of human communication. An attempt to do something through speaking is what is known as a speech act and a lot of things can be done through speaking. A speech act is studied under speech act theory and is found in the domain of pragmatics. Using a qualitative research design, the key objective of this study is to analyze the types of speech acts adopted in the inaugural address of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo as the President of the Republic of Ghana for his second term on the 7th January 2021. This study analyzed the Inaugural Address using Searle’s theory of speech act as a theoretical framework with emphasis on Searle’s five categories of speech act. The study showed that out of a total of 74 locutionary / Statements in the inaugural address,assertive acts are 40.5% of the utterances, commissive acts are 25.6%, while directive, expressive and declarative have small portions, of 13.5%, 12.2%, and 8.2% respectively.

The formulation of the problem in this study is how financial performance of Dua Muara of saving loan cooperative in the city of manna in 2015-2017 seen from ratio liquidity, solvency and provability.The purpose of this study is to determine financial performance of  simpan pinjam cooperative  in the city of manna in 2015-2017 seen from ratio liquidity, solvency and provability.The object of this researchis the Financial report of Dua Muara of saving loan cooperative in the city of manna in 2015-2017.  Data analysis technique used in this reseach  are quantitative  descriptive and interpretating of the data so that it can give Clear description under study Using financial formulation. The result of analysis trough financial report of Dua Muara of saving loan cooperative using financial are report good enough. So it can be conclude that financial performance of of Dua Muara of saving loan cooperative are good enough  but it is necessary to improve the calculation of the financial statement

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji peran brand image dalam memediasi pengaruh country of origin terhadap niat beli motor Vespa Piaggio di kota Denpasar. Metode yang digunakan untuk menentukan sampel adalah non-probability berbentuk purposive sampling dengan ukuran sampel sebanyak 120 orang responden. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan penyebaran kuesioner secara langsung di Kota Denpasar. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis jalur (path analysis) dan uji sobel. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara country of origin terhadap brand image, hubungan yang positif dan singnifikan antara country of origin terhadap niat beli serta brand image mampu memediasi hubungan antara terhadap niat beli konsumen pada motor merek Vespa Piaggio di Kota Denpasar. Hasil tersebut berarti semakin baik citra negara asal merek serta semakin kuat brand image yang tertanam di benak konsumen, akan berpengaruh terhadap niat beli mereka akan suatu produk. Kata kunci: country of origin, brand image, niat beli ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to test the role of brand image in mediating the influence of country of origin on the intention to buy a motor Vespa Piaggio in the city of Denpasar. The method used to determine the sample is non-probability in the form of purposive sampling with sample size of 120 respondents. Data collection was done by distributing questionnaires directly in Denpasar City. The analysis technique used is path analysis and test of sobel. The research findings show that there is a positive and significant correlation between country of origin to brand image, positive and significant relationship between country of origin to purchase intention and brand image able to mediate relationship between consumer purchase intention on Vespa Piaggio brand motor in Denpasar city. The result means the better the image of the home country of the brand and the stronger the brand image embedded in the minds of consumers, will affect their purchase intention of a product. The problem of deixis is an obstacle in understanding reading texts, especially literary works. This study aims to identify and describe deixis in short story literary works. In addition, the findings of this study aim to be a medium in Indonesian language learning activities, especially in text description material. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive method. The data collection method is observational note-taking. The technique of analyzing the data used in this study is to use the data analysis technique of the Miles and Huberman model. Based on the research findings, there are five types of deixis in the Senyum Karyamin short story, namely person, place, time, discourse, and social. Through the identification of this deixis, learning to understand descriptive text will be easier to implement.

This study describes the portrait of speech acts in the East Lampung religious harmony forum. The aim of this research is to know the portrait of the speech act in the activities of the Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB) in East Lampung. The type of this research is qualitative research that uses a pragmatic approach by applying descriptive qualitative methods. This method is used to describe speech events and speech acts based on the data that has been collected by the writer. To complete the data the writer uses listening technique method and proficient technique. From the two methods the writer uses several techniques, namely instruments, recording technique and writing technique. After extracting the data, the next step is processing and analyzing data by using the following steps; the first data transcript containing the speech act which is transcribed into written language. Second puts the results of the data into the data card. Third, the writer analysis the data based on several aspects that has done by the writer. Fourth, the classification of the data based on the type of speech events and speech acts. Based on the results of the research data analysis, it can be concluded that the speech acts used in the Forum of Religious Harmony are locution of speech acts, perlocution of speech acts, and illocution of speech acts which have four forms, namely 1) assertive (declaring, suggesting, reminding). 2) directive (rule, recommend). 3)  expressiveness (thanking, apologizing, condolence). 4) commissive (offering something).

This study aims to describe the  forms of expressive speech act uttered by adults in TPI in Pesisir Selatan Regency, Sumatera Barat. This  is a descriptive qualitative research. The data are any  utterances which contain expressive speech acts of adult in TPI Pesisir Selatan.  The analysis is done by using speech acts theory proposed by Searle. Data source of this research is Adult in TPI. In this research, the researcher used observational method because the data are in the form of spoken language that obtained in a Adult in TPI. Thus this research used notetaking technique in collecting expressive speech act. The research findings show that there are ten kinds of expressive speech act in adults in TPI, namely apology, thanks, sympathy, attitudes, expressing greeting, wishing, expressing joy, expressing pain, expressing like, and expressing dislikes.

This study was designed to explore the perception and experiences of motivation of teacher educators of the universities of Sindh province of Pakistan. The data was collected and analysed through case study approach, the qualitative research design and thematic-narrative analysis technique. The total twenty-one teacher educators revealed their stories in the form of narratives about their motivation. The findings of this article would be found suitable, authentic and reliable resource, which would be an excellent addition in to the existing literature of motivation in order to understand the phenomenon, its process and causations.

The study is conducted based on qualitative research design with descriptive analysis. The data are 67 passive construction in Indonesian and English as used in the novel “9 Summers 10 Autumns (Dari Kota Apel ke The Big Apple)” and translated into “9 Summers 10 Autumns (From the City of Apples to the Big Apple). The research problems are the first what are the corresponding equivalents of Indonesian passive in English as used in the Novel 9 Summers 10 Autumns and its translation, the second what is the translation method or procedure that used in the process of passive voice translation. The steps and procedures of discovering the answer to the both of research problems are shown under the discussion of research method which includes: (1) the data source, (2) method and technique of collecting the data consisting of observation method and note-taking technique; (3) method and technique of analyzing the data. The results of the study show that among the passive in Indonesian which can be identified in SL, most are marked by prefix di- (prefix di- + verb base) and (prefix di-+ verb base + suffix –kan, -i) which are also translated into passive in English (be+past participle ) with four types namely to infinitive translation, by agent translation (stated and implied) and the rest translated into active. This clearly reveals that some passives in SL are retained, namely translated into passive in English and some others are translated into actives. Second, from the whole data analysis the researcher found 4 types of translation methods or procedures used in the passive translation, namely literal translation, transposition, modulation, and adaptation.Keywords: Passive voice, translation procedures, novel
