In Ecuador, the painful impact of the covid-19 pandemic elicited early responses by the government, and by local communities. This critical, positioned and exploratory case study analyses such responses, underscoring the fundamental ethical-political dimension of any academic and professional praxis aimed at the construction of healthier societies worldwide. While critical traditions are familiar with this stance, the inequalities and ideological mechanisms made visible by covid-19 responses may enable the wider community of researchers and practitioners to join ongoing collective ethical-political efforts. Findings from Ecuador underline the potentially harmful role of neoliberalism, and issues of democratic legitimacy; significant problems before and during the pandemic shock; and official discourses which blame communities for their own suffering and death. Neutrality and depoliticized notions of scientific evidence are notoriously insufficient in these scenarios. We need to engage more deeply with diverse forms of global and local community resistance, in times of covid-19, and beyond.
The purpose of this thesis is to examine the response of secondary school teachers to the Tomorrow's Schools education reforms. Their early response was made largely through their union, the Post Primary Teachers' Association (PPTA), in an industrial relations setting as the reform proposals were in development and taking their final shape. The interaction between the professional project of these teachers with the proposed reforms produced an outcome for secondary school education shaped by the interaction, rather than just by the reforms themselves. A case study situated at the intersection of industrial relations, state sector and education restructurings during the period 1984-1989 is the focus of the thesis. The argument is located within French regulationalist theory. The concept of the Keynesian Welfare National State provides a means for connecting education as part of the mode of regulation with the role of the state in New Zealand. The Fourth Labour Government entered into a political project that shifted the role of the state in the economy and society. The roots of the project lay in the discourse of economic rationalism. Policy resulting from this discourse was put into operation through legislation affecting all parts of the state. In education, the discourse of economic rationalism introduced a new approach, the values of which were at odds with those of the previous education settlement of the Keynesian Welfare National State. The object of the thesis is to trace the process of change within the secondary schools sector of education through the years 1984-1989 as the two different sets of values interacted. The assumption is made that institutional change results from a dynamic interaction between new ideas and continuities and discontinuities with the past. This allows for the possibility of the effects of agency on public policy. Analysis focuses on a series of industrial negotiations between the PPTA and the State Services Commission, the negotiating body for government. They took place as various government policy documents and resulting legislation altered the positioning of teachers within the state. The negotiations were of such a character that the educational discourses of economic rationalism and the education settlement of the Keynesian Welfare National State came into conflict and were debated at length. The thesis concludes that, by the end of the negotiations and despite the introduction of legislation on education, the values of secondary teachers remained substantially unchanged and in opposition to the intent of the government reforms.

This study aims to explorehow the Ammiyah language came about in Egypt in the 20th century. It adopted an observational research design. To gather the data, the books and journals covering Orientalism were examined. The study details three of the findings. First, the Ammiyah language differs from the Arabic Fusha in terms of syntax, lexical and phonological characteristics. Second, Ammiyah has often been used in Egypt in familial and social communication. Third, the construction carried out by Orientalists in popularizing the Ammiyah language in order to shift the role of the Arabic Fusha as the language of state administration in Egypt through two aspects. The government orders the writing of books and newspapers in the Ammiyah language using Latin letters, and prohibits the teaching of Fusha language in the school and all activities. Although the Orientalist effort failed because of the opposition from Arab literary groups both Muslim and Christian Arabs, as well as the Al-Azhar and Majma 'Lughah Universities which protected the purity of the Arabic language, there was still a social impact on Egyptian society. The Egyptian society utilizes a number of Ammiyah languages in day-to-day contact.

PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (PT CPI) operates the Rokan block with 13,000 km pipeline length in Riau province. Oil theft attempts through illegal tapping is one of the challenges in operating Rokan block. PT CPI experienced 16 spill cases with a volume of 1,085.98 barrels in 2018-2019 as reported to The Government of Indonesia. The investigation using why tree method is conducted to identify the system level root causes described through tree branches. Five investigations in 2018-2019 reveal the repetitive root cause pattern. Significant root causes related to spill due to illegal tapping are key stakeholders’ engagement, surveillance resources, surveillance method and emergency response. Recommendations developed to these root causes create a comprehensive strategy to overcome spill due to illegal tapping. Comprehensive strategy by conducting continuous engagements to state government and local government, increasing personnel for surveillance resources, improving surveillance method and implementing thorough response has created significant impacts. Decreasing number of spill case in 2020 affects the revenue performance on financial aspect. Hiring local community for additional surveillance resources creates positive social impact for operation of PT CPI. Improved surveillance program shows sustained oil flow supporting the operation. Environmental impacts could be reduced by deploying response team immediately, recovering and cleaning the site according to regulation related to hazardous waste. Comprehensive strategy from PT CPI can be adopted by other Production Sharing Company (PSC) operators to maintain sustainability to deliver optimum production to meet the national target.

But in practice sometimes only the government and the private sector dominate the development of tourism. Local people who are part and even the owner of a natural and social-cultural tourism attraction are not involved in planning the development of a tourist area and tend to be marginalized. The market for financial instruments for sustainable finance has enormous growth potential. So far, Ukrainian banks adhere to a passive strategy in sustainable financing, which, in contrast to the active strategy, assigns banks the role of an agent in the implementation of national or international programs. Moreover, ‘green’ financing at the state level is seen as synonymous with sustainable finance. Lending to energy efficiency projects for businesses and households dominates among all areas of sustainable financing. Banks with local capital and especially state-owned banks are losing access to wholesale borrowing markets. The dependence of many Ukrainian banks on the target funds of international lenders for the development of sustainable financing weakens national financial security in the absence of large-scale national programs. It is expedient at the level of the Government of Ukraine to develop a program to intensify sustainable financing, with an emphasis on green and social impact and implementation through state banks. Sustainable financing should not exacerbate structural imbalances due to the curtailment of lending to sectors that have accumulated problems with adherence to environmental standards, social norms and corporate governance. The National Bank as a regulator and supervisor is able to act as a catalyst for the development of sustainable finance in Ukraine, with adoption of relevant standards harmonised with EU taxonomy.

Education is an attempt by the Government to increase the country's potential to be able to compete with other countries that are experiencing very rapid development. The development of education will have an influence on the life of the local community, that is, it can affect various aspects of life, be it social, economic, cultural, religious, language and also the environment. The extent of the influence of educational development on aspects of life can be studied independently. Besides that, education also plays a major role in expanding employment opportunities, encouraging activities of supporting industries, introducing natural and cultural beauty that is inseparable from a sense of increasing brotherhood in the national and international environment. This is because education itself creates multiple economic impacts, namely direct, indirect, and secondary impacts, which provide opportunities for the growth of businesses and the role of local communities in the education sector. This research will discuss about Active Learning Training with Mathematics Tools at SDS HKBP Pembangunan 3 Medan. The result achieved is that schools are able to provide effective services online in the face of changing times caused by Covid-19 and can provide more information regarding the location of tourist objects that will be traversed by local and foreign tourists.
