The necessity and advantages of using the methodology in conducting financial research in modern conditions, in particular regarding the functioning of the fiscal mechanism for regulating investment processes, are determined. It is established that the methodology is considered by scientists in two approaches: 1) as a doctrine of research methods, which is inextricably linked with philosophical science; 2) as a set of research methods used in any science. The etymology of the concept of “methodology” is considered and approaches to the interpretation of its content are critically comprehended. It is substantiated that the structure of the research methodology, in particular the fiscal mechanism of regulation of investment processes, covers three aspects: functional, logical and process. The functional aspect of the research methodology is determined, which covers its consideration as a set of principles and methods aimed at achieving a specific practical or theoretical goal of research work. The logical aspect of research methodology is highlighted, which contains its understanding as a set of forms of organization of research work. The process aspect of research methodology is determined, which implies its interpretation as a series of successive stages aimed at achieving a certain practical or theoretical result of research work. Based on the study of reference and scientific literature, the author's definition of research methodology of the fiscal mechanism for regulating investment processes is proposed as a specific doctrine, which covers a set of principles, methods, forms and sequential stages of research (cognitive) activity, used to identify scientific facts, their theoretical justification and practical implementation. The functions of research methodology of the fiscal mechanism for regulating investment processes is established. The functions of research methodology of the fiscal mechanism for regulating investment processes are established. The factors of successful application of the methodology as “art” in the study of the fiscal mechanism for regulating investment processes are considered.

A characteristic feature of the vast majority of activity spheres in the modern education system is their systematization. The latest higher education standards center the teacher’s activity around the system and activity approach. That causes the need for its application in the use of information and communications technologies as a means of teaching a foreign language. We give the author’s definition of the term “methodical learning system”, which is interpreted as a component-related system of learning conditions, realizing its methodological potential through the interaction of participants in the educational process aimed at achieving the goal. This system includes five consecutive blocks, including: 1) prerequisites (modern requirements of the Federal Educational Standard of Higher Education), social order for training in the field of written academic discourse, contradictions between the linguodidactic potential of the study group blog, the lack of practical methods of teaching written academic discourse; 2) block target definition (goals and objectives of training); 3) theoretical justification block (list of principles of teaching written academic discourse, approaches to teaching written academic discourse); 4) functional block (organizational and pedagogical conditions, contents and methods of training, means and organizational forms of training); 5) evaluation block system operation results (components of evaluation of educational and cognitive activity, the learning process result). We note methodical system training integrity on the basis of property of integrativity promoting optimization of all components which general interaction is directed on achievement of the training purpose. The goal, for its part, is a system-forming element.

The essay shows a critical reflection on different forms of intensive courses (such as workshops and seminars) and on possible design outcomes. The research studies how to teach architectural design subjects is changing and how forms of ‘open’ learning could help to overcome barriers and disciplinary boundaries. In particular, the essay describes some experiences of intensive workshops conducted in recent years by the Politecnico di Milano in collaboration with Universities in China and India, supporting on one hand a better and deeper knowledge of other contexts, on the other, questioning the traditional teaching methodologies of the architectural design in favor of more dynamic processes. The investigated contexts lead students to reflect on the meaning of the architectural design and on its different forms in contemporary scenarios. The article describes the definition of these research and design activities and the principles that led to the formulation of programs and topics, useful to form student more aware of dynamic sand transformations underway in contemporary cities.

The article analyzes the contribution of the professor of the Department of Pedagogy of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv A.D. Bondar in the development of theoretical principles and methods of conducting laboratory and practical classes in higher education, identifies the possibility of using this pedagogical experience in modern conditions. It is established that today the work and pedagogical activity of A.D. Bondar is insufficiently studied, although his work reflects the results of research on important didactic problems that are relevant today. It is analyzed that among the various types of classes in higher education an important place belongs to laboratory and practical work, because they follow one of the leading principles of didactics – the principle of connection of theory with practice. According to A.D. Bondar, laboratory and practical works are closely connected with lectures and independent work of students, they, with their proper organization, help students to creatively use the theoretical knowledge that they acquired during lectures and in the process of studying literary sources. This type of training activates the cognitive activity of students, gives them the opportunity to show initiative and ingenuity, better master the program material, get acquainted with the latest installations and devices, equipment and materials, experiment in laboratory or production conditions, helps teachers to involve students in research work, promotes the development of their thinking, ingenuity, innovation. According to A.D. Bondar, laboratory classes are an effective way to study the material, give students the opportunity to apply their knowledge in practice and see the results of their work. At the same time, many factors significantly reduce the effectiveness of this important type of training. It is proved that the improvement of the quality of laboratory classes can help, in particular, the implementation of guidelines developed by A.D. Bondar almost half a century ago.

The article reveals the use of active teaching methods in the preparation of higher education students in the speciality «Hotel & Restaurant Business». The emphasis is placed on the current competencies for professions in the hotel and restaurant business, and it is noted that in the near future the technical skills will prevail, which will be complemented by strong personal, social and cooperation skills. It has been noted that these skills cannot be cultivated in a passive educational environment, and therefore, the preference should be given to active teaching methods that can improve the training of specialists in hotel and restaurant business, improve their attitude to learning and provide them with interesting learning and cognitive opportunities. The main approaches to the definition of the concept «active teaching methods» have been revealed, and it has been determined that active teaching methods are the methods that «activate» students by involving their cognitive abilities and processes, making them the active parts of the learning process, which in its turn promotes the development of critical thinking, the increase of motivation to learning, cognitive interest, the activation of creative potential, independence in obtaining knowledge, and the formation of «soft» competencies. The list of active teaching methods has been supplemented by the methods that are widely advertised and professionally substantiated in higher educational institutions today («incident method», «scribing», «reduced method», «delayed assessment method», «mind mapping», «Plus – Minus – Interesting» and others). It has been proposed to introduce such teaching methods in the training of specialists in hotel and restaurant business as: contest and business simulations. The process of their application has been described as well. The research has established that these methods have not become active yet, but they have significant results in improving the quality of training of higher education students in the speciality «Hotel & Restaurant Business».
