The article focuses upon analysis of tour performances of the Gonzalez brothers Italian opera company in provincial Ukrainian town Sumy in the beginning of the XX century. It is noted that musicians` coming was an event which was actively discussed in local press. Each performance had reviews of educative and at the same time critical character. The musical observer described vocal qualities of the artists, their technique, stage effect, orchestra sounding, emotional energy of the shows in details. Basing upon the analysis of these materials the level of touring Italian opera company, performing arts of its soloists and also an impression it produced on Sumy audience are found out. The conclusion enlightens the role of Italian opera company tour in cultural life of the chief town of a district and formation of its musical environment.

AbstrakSewang merupakan salah satu komponen yang sangat penting dalam budaya masyarakat Orang Asli. Iabukan sahaja sekadar bertujuan untuk keraian dan hiburan, malah lebih penting dari itu iaitu berperanansebagai satu kaedah perubahan dan medium komunikasi antara manusia dengan makhluk halus, rohnenek moyang dan semangat yang mendiami alam ini. Berdasarkan bukti etnografi, sejarah dan surveiyang dijalankan di Kampung Pasik, Hulu Kelantan, makalah ini akan membincangkan tentang aspekaspek yang terkandung dalam budaya sewang dan sejauhmanakah ia berperanan dalam masyarakatOrang Asli Temiar di Kampung Pasik, Hulu Kelantan ini. Abstract Sewang plays an important role in Orang Asli sosio-cultural life. It is not only regarded as one of theirsignificance performing arts but also as an important medium of communication between human andspirits that inhabited this realm. Sewang is performed widely in the Orang Asli daily life and served asan important ritual practiced. Based on ethnographic evidence, history and surveys carried out in theTemiar settlements in Pasik, Hulu Kelantan, this paper will discuss to what extent sewang play its role inthe Temiar’s society in terms of method, meaning and functions. It is hope that the discussion will give aninsight of the significance role of sewang and enhance better understanding and awareness among us inorder to sustained it as our cultural heritage.

This article describes the form of successful cooperation of the BRICS countries in the sphere of humanities. The subject of this research is the International Festival of Theater Schools of the BRICS countries, which is viewed as a festivity of creative youth that represents different cultures and performing arts of their country. The goal consists in characterization of the festival, which opens a unique opportunity for communication of youth from the BRICS countries, exchange theatrical traditions and experience, acquire new friends, and demonstrate their acting skills. The scientific novelty lies in the systematized material pertaining to the specificity of organization and hosting the International Festival of Theater Schools of the BRICS countries. It is proven that the international educational program in performing arts within the framework of the festival is the realization of artistic investments into the cultural life of the Russian Federation. The author’s special contribution consists in clarification of the fact that for the past ten years the BRICS countries have achieved great results in the area of culture and art. Among all types of cooperation, the exchange in education and culture play the key role as the bridge in the sphere of humanities between the countries. The International Festival of Theater Schools of the BRICS became the source of development of the worldview of youth from different countries; broadened the horizon of the contemporary forms of culture and art; as well as emphasized the defining role of the techniques of teaching acting through the prism of Stanislavsky’s method that transforms through the culture of ethnoses represented on the festival.

The paper deals with the problem of the establishment of capitalism in Russia in the late 19 - early 20th centuries. Using a wide array of historical research and documents the author argues that the thesis on the advanced state of capitalism in Russia in the beginning of the 20th century does not stand up to historical scrutiny, and the role of the famous Emancipation reform of 1861 appears to be of limited importance.

Bagi sesebuah negara yang mempunyai etnik pelbagai anutan kepercayaan dan perbezaan amalan budaya, dialog antara agama berperanan membetulkan semula kekaburan dalam kehidupan beragama dan berbudaya. Melalui peranan Saudara Baru, dialog antara agama mampu menjadi medan bagi menjelaskan kebenaran tentang agama Islam kepada masyarakat bukan Muslim dan pelaksanaan amalan budaya asal kepada Muslim asal. Objektif kajian ini ialah melihat pengalaman pelaksanaan dialog antara agama di Terengganu dan relevansi dalam kehidupan beragama di negara Brunei. Metode kajian ini menggunakan kajian dokumen yang menyentuh komuniti Cina Muslim di Terengganu dan Brunei. Pengalaman pelaksanaan dialog antara agama di Terengganu dan negara Brunei memperlihatkan dialog antara agama mampu membetulkan salah faham dan selanjutnya mengendurkan ketegangan hubungan antara agama dan budaya antara komuniti Saudara Baru, ahli keluarga bukan Muslim dan masyarakat Muslim asal. Biarpun begitu, adalah dicadangkan agar kajian yang menyentuh dialog antara agama perlu diperkukuhkan sebagai medium membina semula peradaban memandangkan penduduk di kedua-dua lokasi ini terdiri daripada berbilang etnik dan agama sedangkan pada masa yang sama masalah yang menyentuh hubungan antara agama sentiasa timbul. Abstract: For a country with diverse ethics of beliefs and cultural practices, interfaith dialogue plays a role to redefine ambiguity in religious and cultural life. Through the role of the New Muslim (Muslim Convert), interfaith dialogue can become a medium to explain the truth about Islam to the non-Muslims and the implementation of real cultural practices to the others Muslim. The objective of this study is to examine the experience of interfaith dialogue in Terengganu and in Brunei. The method of this study is being conducted in document research that related with the Muslim Chinese community in Terengganu and Brunei. In addition, interviews with people involved in the management of New Muslims also carried out. The experience of interfaith dialogue in Terengganu and Brunei shows that dialogue capable explains misunderstandings and further loosening the tension between religion and culture among New Muslims, non-Muslim family members and Muslim communities. However, it is recommended that studies on interfaith dialogue should be strengthened as a medium for rebuilding civilization as the residents of both locations are multi-ethnic and religious while at the same time the problem of interreligious persists.

One of the influential factors in the formation of modern society in the Westernworld and subsequently spread to over the world has been the discovery of printing presswhich can be found in the form of printing method, printing company and print media.Since it was firstly used by Gutenberg in about 15th century AD, information which waspreviously delivered through oral medium with a limited audience, then through a methodof printing can be reproduced in large quantities and can be read by more audience, acrossdistance and time. Printing method which encourages the emergence of large printingcompanies and then print media has contributed in transforming modern cultural life ofsociety.In addition, the advent of the printing industries which has transformed intotransnational corporations as well as the emergence of journals and regular newspapersalso contributes significantly in raising public spaces as a medium for discussion andcritical thinking amidst society. Ultimately, this information media transformation brings achange in the state system which is more open and leads to the emergence of ideas ofnationalism which becomes an important milestone in transforming traditional societiesinto modern societies.

The borders of Kurdistan represent an important point in Kurdish thought. They represent the hope of establishing their national state. The circumstances of the war on terrorism in Iraq and Syria have led to the emergence of what is known as a "propaganda" and the formation of a global front in its struggle. And with the signs of the collapse of the Syrian state and the weakness of the Iraqi state in the face of the "dashing" in the beginning. These circumstances led to the emergence of the role of the Kurdistan region in the confrontation "ISIS" and maintain the administrative border in the three provinces of Kurdistan in addition to the province of Kirkuk. That the circumstances of the war on terrorism created new international conditions on the Middle East arena, which will generate many problems between the Kurdistan region and the central government of Baghdad, as well as other problems between the region, Syria, Turkey and Iran. The war on terrorism has made countries free to fight the opposition groups under the name Terrorism by their classification. The Turkish side is fighting the PKK within the borders of the Kurdistan region, and this war can develop in a post-"warlike" phase. The war in Syria is also contradictory to vision and not resolved to a specific side and Iran's position on developments is encouraging.

The article is a cultural-historical study and a part of the project Uniting History, which aims to discover the multicultural aspect of performing art in pre-war Liepaja and summarize key facts about the history of the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra. The study also seeks to identify the performing artists whose life was associated with Liepāja and who were repressed between 1941 and 1945, because of aggression by both the Soviet Union and National Socialist Germany. Until now, the cultural life of this period in Liepāja has been studied in a fragmentary way, and materials are scattered in various archives. There are inaccurate and even contradictory testimonies of events of that time. The study marks both the cultural and historical situation of the 1920s and the 1930s in Liepāja and tracks the fates of several artists in the period between 1939 and 1945. On the eve of World War II, Liepāja has an active cultural life, especially in theatre and music. Liepāja City Drama and Opera is in operation staging both dramatic performances, operas, and ballet, employing an orchestra. The symphony orchestra also operated at the Liepāja Philharmonic, where musicians were recruited every season according to the principles of contemporary festival orchestras. Liepāja Folk Conservatory (music school) had also formed an orchestra of students and teachers. Guest concerts were held regularly. A characteristic feature of performing arts in Liepaja was its multicultural character – musicians of different nationalities with experience from different schools of the world were encountered there. World War II not only disrupted the balance in society, but it also had a very concrete and tragic impact on the fates of the people, including the performing artists. Many were killed, many repressed and placed in prisons and camps, and many went to exile to the West. Others were forced to either co-operate with the occupation forces or give up their identity and, consequently, their career as an artist. Nevertheless, some artists risked their lives to save others.

The article shows that in career development, the use of acting techniques opens up new opportunities. The author traces the development of the Russian acting school, created by K.S. Stanislavsky and later revised and supplemented by his students, in the modern socio-economic situation. The article demonstrates that despite the fact that for many years this school was aimed exclusively at educating and training people who want to connect their lives with the theater, it had a significant impact on amateurs as well. Passion for the performing arts was traced among people of a wide variety of professions, which contributed to the creation of numerous amateur theaters. This tendency was especially evident in educational institutions. Pupils and students under the guidance of an experienced director tried to take steps in the stage space, received grateful responses, but continued to be content with the role of an amateur actor, without encroaching on the laurels of a professional. Nevertheless, after that, their main activity, regardless of the direction, moved to a completely different level. Without any psychotherapeutic interventions, the attitude to oneself, to the people around, and to situations changed, the speech apparatus and the timbre of the voice were transformed, phobias and depressive tendencies disappeared. As a result, participants in amateur theaters acquired a new circle of friends and promotions, or they radically changed their field of activity, opening completely new prospects for themselves. The article examines these possibilities in the framework of the modern situation, when the entire range of theater and acting means may be in demand by representatives of other professions.

In this paper we outline the boundaries of a new epistemology in which female narration and code overlap with the role of narrativity and complexity in contemporary research, as Paradigms of Transversality. In postmodernity, narrativity emerges as the contextualization of knowledge and complexity utters itself as its current epistemic statute. Knowledges are located in the ‘living world' and as such they should be understood narratively. Narrative, then, goes from being ‘external history' to an increasingly ‘internal paradigm' of knowledge, one that is always (and totally) intertwined with ‘narrative thinking'. Female knowledge finds its right place in this epistemic situation, and the epistemological and philosophical reflections - highlighted by the introduction of the category of gender - allow feminist discourse to state the systematic asymmetry between women and men; in effect, the latter, despite acting on all levels and in all moments of social and cultural life, has no ultimate foundational cause, since gender is a historical construct, and therefore modifiable. In this feminist path, narrative therefore presents itself as a declaration of existence, of being woman and being man, which rests on the cultural as well as the biological. Women and men make up a discursive intrigue, which is peripatetic and adventurous, an interdependent complexity. This narrative reveals our narrative webs and introduces us to an interactive universalism that sets the relational dimension as constitutive of individuals, groups, cultures and identities. The task of education thus is to open the road, through reflexive practices, to different ways of living, centred on personal experiences, and therefore narrative knowledge, in order to enable man and woman to learn to reveal themselves, to think and think of themselves, to tell and tell themselves, to insert themselves into networks of dialogue, so to build sites for innovation and reflexivity and open ‘thresholds' and ‘meeting places' to ‘do-culture'.
