AbstrakSewang merupakan salah satu komponen yang sangat penting dalam budaya masyarakat Orang Asli. Iabukan sahaja sekadar bertujuan untuk keraian dan hiburan, malah lebih penting dari itu iaitu berperanansebagai satu kaedah perubahan dan medium komunikasi antara manusia dengan makhluk halus, rohnenek moyang dan semangat yang mendiami alam ini. Berdasarkan bukti etnografi, sejarah dan surveiyang dijalankan di Kampung Pasik, Hulu Kelantan, makalah ini akan membincangkan tentang aspekaspek yang terkandung dalam budaya sewang dan sejauhmanakah ia berperanan dalam masyarakatOrang Asli Temiar di Kampung Pasik, Hulu Kelantan ini. Abstract Sewang plays an important role in Orang Asli sosio-cultural life. It is not only regarded as one of theirsignificance performing arts but also as an important medium of communication between human andspirits that inhabited this realm. Sewang is performed widely in the Orang Asli daily life and served asan important ritual practiced. Based on ethnographic evidence, history and surveys carried out in theTemiar settlements in Pasik, Hulu Kelantan, this paper will discuss to what extent sewang play its role inthe Temiar’s society in terms of method, meaning and functions. It is hope that the discussion will give aninsight of the significance role of sewang and enhance better understanding and awareness among us inorder to sustained it as our cultural heritage.

The object of this research is the role of the comedy “Tieteybit” by N. D. Neustroev in cultural life of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia). The subject is the impact of modern creative industries upon cultural life of the region. On the example of Nikolay Denisovich Neustroev's comedy play “Tieteybit”, the authors examine the use of creative approaches towards preservation and popularization of cultural heritage of the Sakha people. It is noted that over the recent years, a major event in the development of spiritual culture and cultural life of the region overall has become the innovations introduced by the contemporaries in staging the Yakut comedies. Motifs of the comedy “Tieteybit” served as the prototype for staging the the first Yakut musical comedy, and even a film. A survey was conducted touching upon the following questions: are the innovations introduced in culture in form of a screen version of classical literature with the elements of innovation encourage the young generation to studying the Yakut cultural heritage?; what is the relevance of the work by N. D. Neustroev “Tieteybit”? The conclusions is made that in the XXI century, N. D. Neustroev's comedy “Tieteybit” has become one of the basics for the development of creative industry of the region. As an instrument for the development of regional culture, creative industry may play the strongest and highly effective role in the development of social life of the region.

This research aims to examine the role of conservation of cultural heritage architecture in the development of tourism in Denpasar and to describe the concept that shapes the downtown Denpasar (zone Z). Following the characteristics of the object of study (research questions), this research uses phenomenology as the paradigm. The qualitative method (phenomenology) is an inclusive and flexible method, which is always developing. This method helps to gain an understanding of meaning, develop theories, and describes complex realities. This research was conducted with the help of human instruments (the researchers), notebooks, voice recorders, and research assistants. Additionally, this research emphasizes qualitative techniques, in which researchers or human factors have an important role. Primary data consist of words and actions, while secondary data include documents, photos, and statistics. Results show that the cultural life of Denpasar citizen has a significant effect on the development of tourism in Denpasar, Bali. It is evident in the structure, functions, and meaning of downtown Denpasar Heritage City, especially in managing the area, planning, and building layout. The downtown Denpasar has a unique pattern called Pempatan Agung. In the context of tourism, the development of Denpasar should focus on creativity and culture. The responsibility of managing the area should be shouldered by the community, cultural experts, universities, NGOs, private companies, and the government. Also, there needs to be a continuous evaluation of the results of management. Keywords: Pempatan Agung, culture, creativity.

В статье представлены результаты изучения опыта активизации социокультурной роли объектов нематериального культурного наследия Китая в период борьбы с новой коронавирусной инфекцией. Источниками послужили: информационные ресурсы веб-сайта «Нематериальное культурное наследие Китая», газеты «Жэньминь жибао» и платформы ЮНЕСКО «Духовное наследие и пневмония, вызываемая новым типом коронавируса». Примеры, приведенные в статье, подтверждают активную позицию КНР в деле обеспечения жизнеспособности объектов нематериального культурного наследия государства и умелого использованиях их для облегчения социальной тревоги, содействия социальному единству в условиях особой обстановки пандемии COVID-19. Опыт активизации социокультурной роли объектов нематериального культурного наследия Китая в период борьбы с коронавирусной инфекцией может быть взят на вооружение соответствующими организациями в России и других странах. В статье дается обзор работ, представленных на страницах веб-сайта «Нематериальное культурное наследие Китая» в подборках произведений мастеров нематериального культурного наследия под названием «Борьба с эпидемией. Мастера нематериального культурного наследия в действии». Делается вывод о том, что работы, созданные мастерами-наследниками с использованием традиционных техник, отражают большую решимость людей добиться успеха в борьбе с вирусом, а устные традиционные жанры и исполнительские искусства играют важную роль в обмене информацией и знаниями, необходимыми для осуществления соответствующих противоэпидемических мер. This article presents the results of research on the attempt to activate the socio-cultural role of the objects of China’s intangible cultural heritage during the fight against the coronavirus infection. Its sources include the “Intangible Cultural Heritage of China” website, the “People’s Daily” newspaper, and UNESCO’s webpages “Spiritual Heritage and the Pneumonia Caused by a New Type of Coronavirus.” The paper confirms the PRC’s attempt to ensure the viability of the state’s intangible cultural heritage and its skillful use in order to alleviate social anxiety and promote social unity under the special circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic. The experience of activating China’s intangible cultural heritage during the fight against the coronavirus infection may be adopted by the relevant organizations in Russia and other countries. The article provides an overview of the works presented on the “Intangible Cultural Heritage of China” website, listed under the title “Fighting the Epidemic. Masters of the Intangible Cultural Heritage at Work.” The works created by the “legacy masters” using traditional techniques reflect a great determination to succeed in the fight against the virus, while traditional oral genres and performing arts play an important role in the exchange of information and knowledge necessary for the implementation of appropriate anti-epidemic measures.

The article considers the role of merchant libraries in the history of the city. The reviewed books open a new publishing series of the scientific library of Irkutsk University, dedicated to merchant libraries of Irkutsk. Its publications provide an opportunity to get familiar with the old book collections of Irkutsk residents, know more about the interest in books and reading in our city as well as the history of private libraries. The first book in the series, published in 2019, was dedicated to the book collection of the largest Irkutsk merchant, the philanthropist and bibliophile V.N. Basnin, whose estate was one of the largest cultural salons in Irkutsk in the first half of the 19th century. The book under review contains the most complete catalog of Basnin’s library, which he had been collecting for more than 40 years. It should be noted that he was not only a reader, but also quite a professional bibliographer, ordered by mail novelty books, making their systematization and description. The second book in the series is dedicated to other merchant libraries. Its compilers have done a lot of research work to find these publications, systematize them and identify their owners. The catalog presented by the Irkutsk State University library most fully reflects the merchants’ interest in printed publications. It includes 969 book titles, reflecting 1 194 editions with exlibrises, autographs and notes of their owners. Despite the purely bibliographic nature of the peer-reviewed publications, which are considered in the research, they are of interest to different groups of people. The author notes the importance of the books not only to library workers, but also to all the readers who are not indifferent to the history of cultural life in Irkutsk, as well as to the role of books and home libraries in personality development and formation of human abilities.

In this article, the author explains the special role of the ethnologist Petre V. Ştefănucă in creating national folkloric archive. Petre V. Ştefănucă is an illustrious personality of the cultural life in Bessarabia from the first half of the 20th century, who asserted himself through his program to substantiate a historiography of the traditional culture in Romanian. Preservation and promotion of intangible cultural heritage has its roots in the interwar period, by the prodigious activity of Romanian Social Institute in Basarabia, led by Professor Petre Ştefănucă - disciple of Romanian Sociological School of Academician Dimitrie Gusti, who organized monographic research in ethnographic areas: Valea Nistrului de Jos, Câmpia Sorocii, Zona Codrilor and valuable materials published in prestigious journal ,,Anuarul Arhivei de Folclor”.

Kethoprak Ringkes sebagai salah satu grup kethoprak yang ada di Yogyakarta memiliki keunikan tersendiri. Banyolan para aktor sarat akan edukasi perihal seni tradisi dan keseharian masyarakat setempat. Meskipun demikian, ada beberapa hal yang tidak dapat dimaknai begitu saja. Adanya semiotika dari Ferdinand De Saussure ini dapat dijadikan sebagai teori dengan tujuan menganalisis pada tataran paling sederhana. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis komponen linguistik salah satu pertunjukan Kethoprak Ringkes yang berjudul “Sampek Eng Tay (Korban Multi Krisis)”. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yakni analisis kualitatif, dimulai dengan reduksi data hingga membuat kesimpulan. Hasil yang didapat menunjukkan adanya analisa lima dialog menggunakan analisis penanda-petanda, hubungan dua kosakata dengan analisis in present-in absentia, dan lima dialog lainnya menggunakan analisis poros kombinasi dan poros seleksi. Penggunaan berbagai kosakata ini melibatkan sistem tanda dengan semiotika Saussure. Upaya pemaknaan ini bisa dilakukan dalam rangka mengedukasi khalayak umum tentang peran seni pertunjukan bagi masyarakat. Kethoprak Ringkes, as one of the kethoprak groups in Yogyakarta, has its uniqueness. The jokes of the actors are full of education about traditional arts and local people's daily life. However, some things cannot be taken for granted. The semiotics from Ferdinand De Saussure can be used as a theory to analyze it at the most superficial level. This study aims to analyze the linguistic component of the Kethoprak Ringkes performances entitled "Sampek Eng Tay (Multi Crisis Victim)". The research method used is qualitative analysis, starting with data reduction to making conclusions. The results obtained show five dialogues using analysis of signifier-signified, the relationship of two vocabulary words with analysis in present-in absentia, and the other five dialogues using combination and selection axis analysis. The use of these various vocabularies involves a sign system with Saussure's semiotics. Efforts to interpret this can be made to educate the general public about the role of performing arts in the community.

This article describes the form of successful cooperation of the BRICS countries in the sphere of humanities. The subject of this research is the International Festival of Theater Schools of the BRICS countries, which is viewed as a festivity of creative youth that represents different cultures and performing arts of their country. The goal consists in characterization of the festival, which opens a unique opportunity for communication of youth from the BRICS countries, exchange theatrical traditions and experience, acquire new friends, and demonstrate their acting skills. The scientific novelty lies in the systematized material pertaining to the specificity of organization and hosting the International Festival of Theater Schools of the BRICS countries. It is proven that the international educational program in performing arts within the framework of the festival is the realization of artistic investments into the cultural life of the Russian Federation. The author’s special contribution consists in clarification of the fact that for the past ten years the BRICS countries have achieved great results in the area of culture and art. Among all types of cooperation, the exchange in education and culture play the key role as the bridge in the sphere of humanities between the countries. The International Festival of Theater Schools of the BRICS became the source of development of the worldview of youth from different countries; broadened the horizon of the contemporary forms of culture and art; as well as emphasized the defining role of the techniques of teaching acting through the prism of Stanislavsky’s method that transforms through the culture of ethnoses represented on the festival.

The article focuses upon analysis of tour performances of the Gonzalez brothers Italian opera company in provincial Ukrainian town Sumy in the beginning of the XX century. It is noted that musicians` coming was an event which was actively discussed in local press. Each performance had reviews of educative and at the same time critical character. The musical observer described vocal qualities of the artists, their technique, stage effect, orchestra sounding, emotional energy of the shows in details. Basing upon the analysis of these materials the level of touring Italian opera company, performing arts of its soloists and also an impression it produced on Sumy audience are found out. The conclusion enlightens the role of Italian opera company tour in cultural life of the chief town of a district and formation of its musical environment.

Bagi sesebuah negara yang mempunyai etnik pelbagai anutan kepercayaan dan perbezaan amalan budaya, dialog antara agama berperanan membetulkan semula kekaburan dalam kehidupan beragama dan berbudaya. Melalui peranan Saudara Baru, dialog antara agama mampu menjadi medan bagi menjelaskan kebenaran tentang agama Islam kepada masyarakat bukan Muslim dan pelaksanaan amalan budaya asal kepada Muslim asal. Objektif kajian ini ialah melihat pengalaman pelaksanaan dialog antara agama di Terengganu dan relevansi dalam kehidupan beragama di negara Brunei. Metode kajian ini menggunakan kajian dokumen yang menyentuh komuniti Cina Muslim di Terengganu dan Brunei. Pengalaman pelaksanaan dialog antara agama di Terengganu dan negara Brunei memperlihatkan dialog antara agama mampu membetulkan salah faham dan selanjutnya mengendurkan ketegangan hubungan antara agama dan budaya antara komuniti Saudara Baru, ahli keluarga bukan Muslim dan masyarakat Muslim asal. Biarpun begitu, adalah dicadangkan agar kajian yang menyentuh dialog antara agama perlu diperkukuhkan sebagai medium membina semula peradaban memandangkan penduduk di kedua-dua lokasi ini terdiri daripada berbilang etnik dan agama sedangkan pada masa yang sama masalah yang menyentuh hubungan antara agama sentiasa timbul. Abstract: For a country with diverse ethics of beliefs and cultural practices, interfaith dialogue plays a role to redefine ambiguity in religious and cultural life. Through the role of the New Muslim (Muslim Convert), interfaith dialogue can become a medium to explain the truth about Islam to the non-Muslims and the implementation of real cultural practices to the others Muslim. The objective of this study is to examine the experience of interfaith dialogue in Terengganu and in Brunei. The method of this study is being conducted in document research that related with the Muslim Chinese community in Terengganu and Brunei. In addition, interviews with people involved in the management of New Muslims also carried out. The experience of interfaith dialogue in Terengganu and Brunei shows that dialogue capable explains misunderstandings and further loosening the tension between religion and culture among New Muslims, non-Muslim family members and Muslim communities. However, it is recommended that studies on interfaith dialogue should be strengthened as a medium for rebuilding civilization as the residents of both locations are multi-ethnic and religious while at the same time the problem of interreligious persists.
