The article considers theoretical approaches to the ecological consciousness formation in the Ukrainian realities of today. The purpose of the article is to investigate the peculiarities of the formation of ecological consciousness of applicants for higher education in today's realities. The following methods were used in the research process: analysis, comparison, generalization and systematization. The historical facts of the consequences of consumer attitude to natural resources are given. It has been found that the current ecological crisis in the world is deteriorating, and this is especially noticeable in Ukraine, as evidenced by specific facts. It was found that one of the important tasks for overcoming the ecological crisis is the formation of ecological consciousness. To do this, it is necessary to radically change the worldview paradigm from anthropocentric to nature-centric, to turn to the centuries-old experience of harmonious nature management of the Ukrainian people. The theory of fairness of exchange is considered, which is interpreted as the possibility of each generation to be included in a positive diachronic exchange: the help that the younger generation receives after birth (because the child is born completely powerless and highly helpless) and in adulthood, later it "returns" through helping the elderly, which have entered the third generation phase. Also an important concept in shaping the attitude to the natural environment is the idea of corrective justice, which aims to perceive nature as a common property of mankind, belonging to each generation, and within the generation to each individual equally. It was found that if the collective ecological consciousness of most members of Ukrainian society is at a sufficient level, the individual still needs significant changes, so the formation of ecological consciousness is the most important task of natural education and environmental education, which should begin in the first years of life. It is proved that the role of teachers is extremely important for the formation of ecological consciousness of future generations, starting from educators of preschool education institutions and ending with teachers of higher education institutions, especially pedagogical ones.

This study aims to produce a recommendation for improvement of information system governance that aims to improve its maturity and capability. In this case the process of assessing the level of maturity and capability is carried out at the Higher Education Foundation. Data collection instruments were conducted using direct observation in the company, conducting interviews with selected stakeholders, distributing questionnaires for which respondents had been assigned referring to COBIT 5 framework, as well as conducting a literature study on existing research. The methodology used in this study is the COBIT 5 framework by starting to identify problems and business objectives of the company, with reference to the COBIT process that has been identified and mapped according to analysis needs. Then measure the capability of the ongoing process using a questionnaire whose question provisions have been provided in the Process Assessment Model COBIT 5, thus helping the research process in assessing governance. Then the target level of capability that the company wants is determined. So the gap analysis process is carried out to find out how far the improvement needs to be done by the company to reach the target. The results obtained from this study are an assessment of the level of capability of corporate information system governance and the target level of capability to be achieved based on the chosen COBIT Process. Analysis of the gap between the current governance conditions and the company's targets is made as a recommendation for improving service activities and corporate information system governance.

Under the influence of globalization and integration of economic processes in the domestic economy, the importance of intellectual resources is growing. Based on its use in economic activities, enterprises and organizations are able to realize their intellectual capital. The main condition for the formation of this special type of capital is the presence of intellectual potential that arises in the process of manifestation of intellectual abilities and professional competencies of the company's staff. The intellectual component is the fundamental basis of the system of relations between science, industry and society. Therefore, educational institutions play an important role in raising the intellectual level of the national economy. The theoretical approaches to determining the economic essence of the intellectual capital of higher education institutions have beem summarized in this article and the main aspects of realizing the intellectual potential of educational and research institutions in Ukraine have been explored. The availability of intellectual capital allows scientific organizations to formalize and implement in the market various forms and types of knowledge: research, skills, experience, competencies, professional skills. The purchase of knowledge allows commercial organizations to significantly increase the level of their technical and technological solutions, develop know-how, to acquire ownership of the right to use knowledge in the form of patents, licenses, franchises. On this basis, the production of new products can be carried out; use of new technologies, new management methods; creation of a trademark; development of new activities; entering new markets. The implementation of the socio-economic policy of the state should be based on the intensification of intellectual activity of higher education institutions, because in market conditions it is the state that should stimulate educational institutions to form intellectual capital. The important role of intellectual capital of higher education institutions is manifested in the fact that it allows them to become intellectual enterprises and significantly affect the national economy by increasing its competitiveness.

This article substantiates the essence of ecological ethics in the context of modern scientific research. The emphasis lies on the need to develop a strategy and approach of human behavior amid the natural environment, rational nature management, protection and restoration of the surrounding world. The new methodological thinking is characterized by philosophical foundation of ecological ethics (ecological consciousness, ecological thinking, ecological values, ecological activity, etc.). The idea of development of environmental ethics based on principles of Christian and Philosophic noology is introduced. The world outlook is changing rapidly with its positive and negative aspects. It requires humanization of natural environment as well as a human being by forming ecological consciousness. There is a necessity of humanization of technosphere and abandoning technocratic thinking, which is anti-culture itself and, at times, it endangers human race on the Earth.

This dissertation explores the concept of ecological consciousness through a case study approach examining recent attempts to use graduate training and research to better address issues of ecological sustainability and human health. Since the 1970s, there has been a growing number of graduate training programs designed to equip a new generation of graduates with the kind of awareness necessary to address the global ecological crisis. Despite these efforts, the crisis on the whole continues to worsen. Although scholars have pointed to the challenges that ecological consciousness poses for graduate training and research, few studies have examined these challenges from the point of view of graduate students themselves. To better understand the opportunities and constraints of graduate training and research, this dissertation uses the framework of ecological consciousness to analyze the experiences of an international group of twenty-six graduate students and professionals trained in ecosystem approaches to human health (ecohealth) in Canada, West and Central Africa, and Central America. Drawing on systems thinking, Indigenous knowledges, and historical materialism, I argue that ecological consciousness means using different ways of knowing to challenge the disciplining tendency of academic knowledge production and open space for a wider ecology of knowledge to develop and express itself. Methodologically, this project is informed by institutional ethnography, building on the diverse experiences and insights of interviewees to make sense of the layered contextual frames of the university, the state, and international development research projects. Despite an orientation toward transformative practices, interviewee experiences reveal strong pressures to fit within top-down, disciplinary processes already governing the administration of training and research, thereby limiting the possibilities for ecological consciousness. I conclude by offering certain theoretical possibilities for how ecological consciousness can support collective action upon the disciplinary employment structures, which graduate students and professionals have a key role in transforming.

This chapter examines how environmental concerns have influenced International Relations theory. It first provides a brief overview of the ecological crisis and the emergence of green theorizing in the social sciences and humanities in general, along with the status and impact of environmental issues and green thinking in IR theory. It then investigates green theory’s transnational turn and how it has become more global, while critical IR theory has become increasingly green. It also considers the different ways in which environmental issues have influenced the evolution of traditional IR theory. It concludes with a case study of climate change to illustrate the diversity of theoretical approaches, including the distinctiveness of green theories.

This chapter gives an overview of quality management activities in German universities engaging in lifelong learning. Projects funded within the German-wide funding competition “Advancement through Education: Open Universities” aim to open universities to lifelong learning and to increase permeability between vocational and academic pathways. They range from development of concepts for part-time courses, further education and blended learning study formats to new kinds of cooperation with institutions outside university. Quality management activities have to be developed and implemented in all projects. The chapter presents the findings of an action research process including a quality management workshop with different universities involved in the funding competition and the resulting recommendation paper, complemented by a document analysis, which show the variety of quality assurance and quality management activities within academic continuing education in German higher education.
