Introduction. The issues of increasing the local territories competitiveness in recent years have gained great importance, given the dynamics of trends in the economic ties localization. For Ukrainian territorial communities, especially suffering from the consequences of hostilities in the east of the country, an important task is to form their positive and attractive image by using such a marketing tool as the territory positioning. This process bases on the identification of unique economic, social and environmental characteristics that can create the foundation for the formation of a positive and attractive community image in order to increase its competitiveness. Aim and tasks. The aim of the article is to substantiate the theoretical and methodical dominants evaluation for the positioning results of territorial communities in the eastern Ukraine to form their positive image and increase competitiveness. This aim reveals through the prism of tasks, which are to substantiate the architectonic foundations for positioning territorial communities, defining archetypal components for assessing the results of positioning territories and conducting their rating assessment. Results. The analysis of foreign and domestic scientific and theoretical heritage demonstrates an insufficient level of research into the issues of theoretical and methodical support for assessing the results of the territorial communities positioning. It made possible to substantiate their architectonic theoretical and methodical dominants with the allocation of a basic and auxiliary level to obtain a positive effect. The article proposes the archetype of community positioning parameters, which display in 17 indicators in terms of sustainable development. This system of parameters formed the basis for the rating assessment of positioning results by defining quantified and reference indicators reflecting the current economic, social and environmental positions of the local territory. Conclusions. The results of the rating assessment using the example of the Bilovodsk community confirmed the imbalance of its positioning between economic, social and environmental positions, with the latter being given priority. It proposes to solve this problem by adjusting the economic and social parameters of the community's positioning, changing the emphasis on those indicators of socio-economic development, that better characterize its unique features, which will help attract potential consumers and increase the level of its competitiveness.

Typologization of rural areas, taking into account differences in population density and level of socio-economic development, is necessary to identify “growth points” and strategic sustainability benchmarks. The method of integrated assessment of the level of socio-economic development of rural territories is proposed, according to which the grouping of Russian regions is carried out. Applying data on rural population density to the results of calculations allowed us to identify 12 typological groups, in the context of which unified recommendations on sustainable development of territories should be formed.

Rural settlements occupy a significant part of the territory of Russia, where about 25% of the population lives and significant natural resource potential is concentrated, but the level of their socio-economic development is significantly inferior to urban ones. Increasing depressiveness of rural areas and spatial socio-economic differentiation is a systemic problem and an obstacle to the balanced development of the national economy, reduces its competitiveness due to insufficient use of economic potential, creates challenges to the economic and national security of the state. A powerful tool for countering such trends is the formation and implementation of the potential for the development of small agribusiness, which is mainly based on households created in the form of peasant (farmer) and personal subsidiary associations. The article ana-lyzes the potential of small agribusiness development in rural areas.

Gender equity in education generates a push force that accelerates progress across sectors and goals; thus sustainable development. Gender equality constitutes central position in both national and international programmes as an accelerator for achieving development. Women’s place in national development appears subordinated. Thus, this study examined gender equity in education in Nigeria and the impact on national development. Specifically, the study sought to determine the degree of women access to education, ascertain the impact of women education on socio-economic development and determine the factors that constitute barriers to women education in Nigeria. The study discovered that educated women serve as stabilizing factor in national development and recommended ‘soft competition technique’ as the approach that will grant women the needed equity in national development in Nigeria.

Sustainable tourism has been a focus of tourism worldwide. As the hospitality industry is a part of tourism which includes hotels and resorts and contributes a lot towards food and lodging, sustainability is a concern for the industry. Individuals have a perspective that hotelier's relationship toward environmental and societal concerns is rather secluded and intangible. Considering the size and the rapid growth of the hospitality industry, it makes it clear that environmentally sustainable action is essential. For sustainability to be effective, the best way is to engage the people from local communities. The aim is to promote socio-economic development of the tourist destination and the community considering the ecology best cared for by the locals. Tourism has to be developed in a manner so that the ecosystem is conserved with diversification of the economy leading to dispersal of ownership.

In modern conditions, threats and risks are constantly emerging for the sustainable socio-economic development of various regions of the world, including Russia. In this regard, one of the most important is the problem of sustainable dynamic development of the country and its closest partner-countries, one of which is Mongolia. The article presents a historical analysis of international relations between Russia and Mongolia. The main points of the development of the economy of the RSFSR, the USSR and Mongolia after the signing of the cooperation agreement in 1921 are described. The analysis of the changed geopolitical conditions of the socio-economic development of Russia and Mongolia in connection with the collapse of the world socialist system and the unfolding modern economic crisis is carried out. The conducted research made it possible to conclude that it is necessary to develop a scientifically based medium-and long-term strategy for the socio-economic development of the country in the new geopolitical realities. Recommendations on strengthening the role of the state in regulating the real sector of the economy and investment processes are offered. The study shows that the main directions of state policy in the field of sustainable development and national security, including food security, should be social, political and economic transformations for the sustainable development of the regions.
