Information has become an important source for managing modern organizations. Keywords: Management Information Systems (MIS), Decision Making and Problem Solving

Data has become a key asset for the supervision of current associations. This is based on the fact that the current business situation is unpredictable, dynamic, fierce and requires an increasing interest in accurate, relevant, complete, easily accessible and affordable data that is expected to drive the basic leadership process in order to highlight the hierarchical capacity to oversee openings and hazards.. This paper is an impression of amassed talk made available in writing about the link between executive data frameworks–MIS and the basic corporate leadership. The study indicates that wise change and the MIS Organization Board should be allowed to make decisions that would not only be fast and efficient, but would still be in sync with industry best practices and ultimately result in organizational efficiency and suitability..

Information systems were developed in early 1960s to process orders, billings, inventory controls, payrolls, and accounts payables. Soon information systems research began. Harry Stern started the “Information Systems in Management Science” column in Management Science journal to provide a forum for discussion beyond just research papers (Banker & Kauffman, 2004). Ackoff (1967) led the earliest research on management information systems for decision-making purposes and published it in Management Science. Gorry and Scott Morton (1971) first used the term decision support systems (DSS) in a paper and constructed a framework for improving management information systems. The topics on information systems and DSS research diversifies. One of the major topics has been on how to get systems design right.

Background: Integrated Financial Management Information Systems (IFMIS) can improve public sector management by providing real-time financial information to managers in order to enhance their decision-making capabilities. The South African Public Service is currently busy with the implementation of an IFMIS. However, the implementation of such a project has proved to be a very demanding undertaking and has not been met with resounding success. Objectives: The research was conducted in order to identify the challenges and risks that are involved in the implementation of the IFMIS in South Africa. After identification of the challenges and risks, solutions or guidelines were developed that may make the implementation more successful.Method: The methodology that was used is that of a literature study where theories were explored and used to solve a research problem. Based on the theoretical research, solutions and guidelines were developed to solve challenges and risks experienced. Results: The results indicated that there are a number of challenges involved with the implementation of an IFMIS. A set of best practice guidelines was developed that may make the implementation more successful. Conclusion: The sheer size and complexity of an IFMIS poses significant challenges and a number of risks to the implementation process. There are, however, critical success factors or best practices that can be used for the project to succeed. It is recommended that these best practices be used by the South African Public Service.

The Management Information System is a series of information subsystems that cover thewhole and have been arranged in an integrated manner that is able to move data so that itbecomes information through several ways to increase productivity similar to the model andnature of managers on the basis of predetermined criteria. The management informationsystem is defined as a pyramid building whose base layer is information then followed by anexplanation, status explanation, and so on. Management information systems rely heavily onelements that will produce an information system that suits their needs. imbalances that meetin an embodiment of these elements which will create a slightly incorrect information whichwill result in errors in every decision making in an organization or company. Therefore it isvery necessary to understand an understanding of the elements in a management informationsystem, especially operators that produce very accurate and precise information for a groupor company.

ABSTRACT
Student organizations (ORMAWA) are a place for students to develop interests, talents, skills and social abilities. Research shows that ORMAWA provides benefits for students such as training leadership, time management, networking, social skills, problem-solving and conflict management and being able to increase learning motivation. STMIK STIKOM Indonesia views ORMAWA had an important role in student personal development. Currently, STMIK STIKOM Indonesia had 32 ORMAWA who obliged to guided and supervised. STMIK STIKOM Indonesia has difficulties in knowing the conditions and assessing ORMAWA because administrative management is still manual. The system for managing the administration of student organizations is needed to help institutions guide student organizations. This system will provide information about the condition of ORMAWA. The assessment of the condition of ORMAWA based on member activeness, number of activities, number of participants and discipline on administration. The assessment is done using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. The results of this study indicate that it has successfully developed an information system for student administration management. Information systems can generate information on activeness of ORMAWA, ORMAWA activities and ORMAWA condition reports with SAW calculations. The saw method is not suitable to be used in determining the conditions of the people. This because the assessment is carried out relative to other ORMAWA conditions. This relative assessment can produce different assessments of the same conditions.
Keywords: Simple Additive Weighting, assessment using multi criteria, student organizations, administrative management, information systems
